Battramsley is a hamlet in the civil parish of Boldre, in the New Forest in Hampshire, England.

The A337 road is a road in southern England that runs from the M27 motorway in Hampshire to Christchurch in Dorset.

Boldre is a village and civil parish in the New Forest district of Hampshire, England. It is in the south of the New Forest National Park, above the broadening (estuary) of the Lymington River, two miles (3 km) north of Lymington. In the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 1,931, and in the 2011 census, 2,003. The parish has a few campsites and a tourist caravan site, along with visitor parking around its mixed woodland and heath hamlet of Norley Wood.

Buckland Rings is the site of an Iron Age hill fort in the town of Lymington, Hampshire. Today, the mounds and dykes around the outside which once constituted its defences are still clearly visible, although the outer bank lies under the road on the west side, and on the south-east it is nearly ploughed-out. Excavations of the inner and middle ramparts in 1935 revealed that they were of wall-and-fill construction, retained at the front by upright timber beams and walls of cut and laid turf. The entrance, which lies on the east side, was also excavated revealing a long entrance passage and the postholes for a pair of stout gateposts. The site was bought by Hampshire County Council in 1989 to ensure its preservation, and it is open to the public from the A337 road onto which part of it faces.

Ampress Works Halt was a halt station on the Lymington Branch Line which, between 1956 and 1989, served the Wellworthy engineering works near Lymington in Hampshire, England. Sited near the bridge over the A337 Lymington to Brockenhurst road, the station closed when the engineering works ceased operation. The station never appeared in any public timetable.

Lymington New Forest Hospital is a community hospital in Lymington, Hampshire. It is managed by the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Roydon Woods is a 294.9-hectare (729-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest near Brockenhurst in Hampshire. It is a nature reserve managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and is part of New Forest Special Area of Conservation.A large part of these woods are ancient, but other areas are former oak and hazel coppice planted in the nineteenth century. There are also areas of hornbeam and species-rich aldercarr. The SSSI also includes a stretch of the Lymington River and many open glades.

Lymington Hospital was a consultant-led community hospital in Lymington, Hampshire. It was administered by New Forest Primary Care Trust before it was replaced by the Hampshire Primary Care Trust.

The № 1 New Zealand General Hospital (1NZGH) was a World War I military hospital in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, England. The hospital was established in June 1916, after moving from Abasseyeh in Egypt. It was operated by the Royal New Zealand Army Medical Corps. It had been the Lady Hardinge Hospital for Wounded Indian Soldiers.Two large hotels in the parish: the Balmer Lawn Hotel and Forest Park Hotel were taken over and became a part of the new hospital, they could each hold 200 beds. 1NZGH became the orthopaedic centre for the New Zealand Medical Service in Britain.On occasions during 1918 nearly 1,600 patients were accommodated at the hospital. Between 1916 and its closure 1919 the hospital cared for over 20,000 patients. Auckland Avenue and Auckland Place in Brockenhurst are named to commemorate the many New Zealanders who served at the Hospital during World War I.Saint Nicholas Churchyard has 106 graves of those who died from the war including 93 New Zealanders, three Indian and three unidentified Belgian civilians.

Lymington River Reedbeds is a 41.7-hectare (103-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Lymington in Hampshire. It is a nature reserve managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. It is part of Solent and Southampton Water Ramsar site and Special Protection Area.This site in the Lymington River estuary was formerly tidal, but salt water has been excluded since the nineteenth century by a one way tide flap. It has reedbeds and unimproved grassland which provide an important habitat for breeding and migrating birds. The reedbeds have large populations of aphids, which provide food for the birds.

Lymington River SSSI is a 34.8-hectare (86-acre) biological and geological Site of Special Scientific Interest along Lymington River and its tributaries between Lymington, Burley and Stoney Cross in Hampshire. HIghland Water is a Geological Conservation Review site and Ober Water is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I. Parts of the site are in The New Forest and Solent and Southampton Water Ramsar sites, and in The New Forest Special Protection Area.This site covers the river and its tributaries Highland Water, Ober Water and Mill Lawn Brook, and no other system in England shows such a rapid succession of plant communities in such a short stretch of river. Ober Water has a very unusual and diverse flora and several rare and protected species of dragonfly. Highland Water is important for illustrating fluvial processes in rivers in southern England which have not been subject to modification.

Sway is a village and civil parish in Hampshire in the New Forest national park in England. The civil parish was formed in 1879, when lands were taken from the extensive parish of Boldre. The village has shops and pubs, and a railway station on the South West Main Line from Weymouth and Bournemouth to Southampton and London Waterloo. It is the site of Sway Tower, a 66-metre (217 ft) concrete folly built in the 19th century. Sway is on the southern edge of the woodland and heathland of the New Forest. Much of Marryat's novel The Children of the New Forest is set in the countryside surrounding Sway.
