Rayner Stephens High School (formally Astley Sports College and Community High School) is a coeducational secondary school located in Dukinfield in the English county of Greater Manchester.It was a community school administered by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and previously gained Sports College status. In July 2017 the school converted to academy status and was renamed after Rayner Stephens.The school mainly admits pupils from Broadbent Fold Primary School, Oakfield Primary School, Ravensfield Community Primary School and Yew Tree Community Primary School. The school has and has artificial multi-sports pitches, which can be reserved for use by the general public, outside school hours. The school offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils. The school also offers the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme.

Dukinfield is a town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England, on the south bank of the River Tame opposite Ashton-under-Lyne, 6.3 miles (10.1 km) east of Manchester. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 19,306.Within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, the town developed as a result of the Industrial Revolution when it became the site of coal mining and cotton manufacturing.

Flowery Field railway station serves the Flowery Field area of Hyde, Greater Manchester, England. It is 7 miles (11 km) east of Manchester Piccadilly on the Manchester-Glossop Line. The station is managed by Northern Trains.The station was opened in 1985 and is mainly a wooden structure, similar in design to Godley railway station, which is also on the Glossop Line. The station was opened by British Rail. As part of the failed Manchester TIF bid, the station would have been refurbished with CCTV, real-time passenger information and additional seating and shelters. The bid failed after residents of Greater Manchester voted against the congestion charge. However, funding was secured from Transport for Greater Manchester in 2011, for the installation of CCTV, Customer Information Screens, a Public Announcement System and Help Points.

Ray Mill was a mill in Stalybridge, UK. A five-storey, electrically driven red brick spinning mill built in 1907. It contained 66,528 ring spindles and 9000 doubling spindles. Together with Premier Mill it was using 3,050 horsepower (2,270 kW) of electricity. The syndicate of owners also owned Victor Mill and Premier Mill. In 1911 the three companies merged to form Victor Mill Ltd which employed 1500 people. Ray was spinning medium counts from American cotton. By 1950 the company was part of the Fine Spinners and Doublers Association, and was taken over by Courtaulds in 1960 and was still in production until 1982. On 17 March 2018, a huge devastating fire broke out in the mill which took over 50 firefighters from across Greater Manchester to deal with.The building housed 15 businesses at the time of the fire. The building was largely destroyed by the fire and subsequently demolished.

Hyde North is a railway station north of Hyde, Greater Manchester, England, operated by Northern Trains. Originally opened as Hyde Junction in February 1863, it was at the junction between the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway extension to New Mills (operated jointly with the Midland Railway as the Sheffield and Midland Railway Companies' Committee) and the MS&L main line through Penistone to Sheffield). For a while it saw the Midland's expresses from London. In 1875, however, a new more direct route was built through Bredbury. On 17 September 1951, the station was renamed Hyde North.

Hyde High School is a co-educational secondary school located in the Flowery Field area of Hyde in the English county of Greater Manchester.It is a community school administered by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, and offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils.The school was previously awarded Technology College status, and was named Hyde Technology School for a time before the new school building opened in 2012 as Hyde Community College. In 2020 the school closed its sixth form provision and was renamed Hyde High School. The school continues to expand, with a high demand for school places in the local area.

Newton for Hyde railway station, serves the Newton area of Hyde in Greater Manchester, England. Newton for Hyde is 7+1⁄2 miles (12.1 km) east of Manchester Piccadilly station and managed by Northern Trains. The station unusually features both a covered subway underneath the platforms and a larger viaduct tunnel accessible from both sides, meaning there are 2 ways to cross platforms underground. The eastern side of the station containing these passageways is raised on the viaduct.

The Astley Deep Pit disaster was a mining accident at the Astley Deep Pit, in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England, that took place on 14 April 1874, killing 54 men and boys. Astley Deep Pit was a coal mine started around 1845 to work the seam of coal known as the "Lancashire Black Mine". When finished, it was supposedly the deepest coal-mine in Britain and cost £100,000 to sink.

Flowery Field is an area of Hyde, Greater Manchester, England.It is a mainly residential area once dominated by Ashton Brothers Textile Mill.
