Whitfield, also known as Whitfield Estates, is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Manatee County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census it had a population of 2,989. It is part of the North Port–Sarasota–Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. It receives its mail from the Sarasota post office located in Sarasota County.

It includes 332 through 336 Lantana Avenue, encompasses approximately 18 acres (73,000 m2), and contains 6 historic buildings. On March 8, 1997, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This district is part of the Whitfield Estates Subdivision Multiple Property Submission.

The Stevens–Gilchrist House is among its first houses, built in 1926. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. A stucco over frame garage/servants quarters building is included in the listing.

John M. Beasley House is a house at 7706 Westmoreland Drive, Sarasota, Florida in Manatee County which was built in Mediterranean Revival style in 1926. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.It is a two-story, frame residence covered with stucco, upon a concrete foundation. It has a gable roof with barrel tile sections and it has flat roof sections. Some shallow eaves are supported by simple wood brackets. The property also includes a non-contributing garage.It is located in the Whitfield Estates Subdivision.

The University of South Florida Sarasota–Manatee (also known as USFSM or USF Sarasota-Manatee) is a branch campus of the University of South Florida in Sarasota, Florida. USFSM was established in 1975 as a regional campus of the University of South Florida and gained separate accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate and master's degrees in June 2011. It was consolidated with the other two USF campuses (Tampa and St. Petersburg) as of July 1, 2020.USFSM offers more than 40 bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and certificate programs in four colleges: Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Science and Math, Business, and Hospitality and Tourism Leadership.
