Gepps Cross, South Australia

The State Hockey Centre, currently known as MATE Stadium (formerly known as the Pines Stadium and Distinctive Homes Hockey Arena (2003–2009)), is a 4,000 capacity, government owned outdoor field hockey stadium located in Gepps Cross, a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It offers two international-standard wet hockey pitches which are used for both competition and training activities. It is the home to the Southern Hotshots and SA Suns in the Australian Hockey League.

Pooraka railway station was located approximately 12.9 km by rail from Adelaide on the former 3.9 kilometres (2.4 mi) long Northfield branch line that opened in June 1857. The station opened as Abattoirs railway station on 12 July 1913, when the adjacent Gepps Cross Abattoirs also opened. The station's livestock sidings extended for most of the 970 metres (1060 yards) of the line between Port Wakefield Road and the Gawler Road (later Main North Road).

Enfield High School was a high school at Gepps Cross, South Australia. It opened in 1953 and closed in 2010, its functions being absorbed into Roma Mitchell Secondary College.

Port Wakefield Road and Port Wakefield Highway are an important South Australian highway. They connect Adelaide to the Yorke Peninsula, Port Augusta, northern and western South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. They are designated National Highway A1 and a part of the National Highway. They are named after Port Wakefield, the first government town north of Adelaide. Historically, the whole route was named Port Wakefield Road, however following the opening of the Northern Expressway, the route north of that junction was named Port Wakefield Highway.

Cavan railway station was located 12.1 kilometres (7.5 mi) by rail from Adelaide on the now closed Northfield branch line. Its elevation was 13 metres (43 ft) above sea level.

The Adelaide Super-Drome is located at Adelaide, South Australia's State Sports Park, Main North Road, Gepps Cross. The Super-Drome was designed by Architect Carlo Gnezda and was opened in 1993. From 1993 the venue was managed and promoted by 1984 Olympic Games Men's team pursuit gold medalist Michael Turtur. He was assisted by the venue's track designer Ron Webb in bringing out international competitors. It is the headquarters for the Australian Institute of Sport’s Track Cycling Program due to its fully accredited international-standard training and competition facilities, for Adelaide's mild climate, and for being a short distance to the Adelaide Hills.

The City of Enfield (formerly District Council of Yatala South) was a local government area of South Australia from 1868 to 1996. It was known as Yatala South up until 1933, which was named for its local government area predecessor, the District Council of Yatala, and known as Enfield thereafter. The seat of the City of Enfield was the township of Enfield, approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of the Adelaide central business district, named after Enfield Town in the London borough of same name. In 1868, the council area ranged approximately from Dry Creek in the north to the River Torrens in the south east and Torrens Road (unrelated to the river) in the south west.

Adelaide Youth Training Centre (also known as Kurlana Tapa – "New Path") is a youth detention centre at two campuses in Cavan, an industrial northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is operated by the Government of South Australia Department of Human Services, unlike adult prisons which are operated by the Department for Correctional Services.

Cavan is a suburb north of Adelaide, within the City of Salisbury local government area.

The District Council of Yatala was a local government area of South Australia established in 1853 and abolished in 1868. The council was named after the Hundred of Yatala which was proclaimed in 1846 in the County of Adelaide, Yatala likely deriving from a Kaurna word 'yartala' referring to the flooded state of the plain either side of Dry Creek after heavy rain. The name was used to describe a large portion of the Adelaide Plains from Port Adelaide in the west to Tea Tree Gully in the east.

The State Centre for Football (currently known as ServiceFM Stadium) is a soccer facility in Gepps Cross, an inner northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The facility consists of two artificial pitches, and the main pitch, which has a seated capacity of 1,000, and a total capacity of 7,000. The stadium hosts many South Australian NPL games and Australia Cup games. The ground is currently utilised by Football South Australia, as a neutral venue for major matches, as well as being a temporary home ground for various clubs, and Adelaide United's Youth team.
