Tilbury Football Club is a football club based in Tilbury, Thurrock, England. The club play in black and white stripes, are currently members of the Essex Senior League and play home matches at Chadfields.

The Church of St Mary is a Church of England parish church in Chadwell St Mary, Thurrock, Essex. The church is a Grade I listed building. Together with Emmanuel Church, it forms the Parish of Chadwell St Mary in the Diocese of Chelmsford.

Chadwell St Mary is an area of the unitary authority of Thurrock in Essex, England. It is one of the traditional (Church of England) parishes in Thurrock and a former civil parish. Grays is 2 miles (3.2 km) to the west and 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south is Tilbury. The area is sometimes referred to simply as Chadwell, particularly before the 19th century.

Biggin is a hamlet and manor in Chadwell St Mary, part of the borough of Thurrock, in the ceremonial county of Essex, England. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the town of Tilbury and a similar distance east of Grays. The name can be spelled Byggin, Bigging or Begging. In some sources it is called Little Biggin. From the 13th century until the dissolution, the manor was owned by the Cistercian Abbey of Stratford Langethorne. The manor was then granted to the Dean and Chapter of St Paul's Cathedral.For transport there is the A126 road, the A1089 road and the B149 road nearby. The nearest railway station is Tilbury Town railway station.

Thames Park Secondary School is a co-operative, comprehensive and coeducational secondary free school in Grays, Essex, England. It opened in September 2020 as a member of the Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust (OCAT) and is a specialist school for digital technology and artificial intelligence. The school was previously located on a temporary site at High Street, Grays, before its relocation to Chadwell Road in September 2022. The school's headteacher is Kam Bains and the executive headteacher is Ashlie Hughes. Ashlie Hughes is the headteacher of Thames Park's sister school, St Clere's.

Thurrock and Basildon College was a further education college in Grays, Essex, England (Woodview Campus) and Basildon, Essex, England (Nethermayne Campus). It was formed by the merger of Thurrock Technical College and Basildon College. The college merged with South East Essex College of Arts and Technology on 1 January 2010 to form South Essex College.The Nethermayne Campus of Basildon college opened on 13 September 1971.

Terrel's Heath is, in spite of its name, an area of woodland in Chadwell St Mary named on the 1938 six-inch Ordnance Survey map.

Tilbury is a port town in the borough of Thurrock, Essex, England. The present town was established as separate settlement in the late 19th century, on land that was mainly part of Chadwell St Mary. It contains a 16th century fort and an ancient cross-river ferry. Tilbury is part of the Port of London with a major deep-water port which contributes to the local economy. Situated 24 miles (38.5 km) east of central London and 23 miles (37 km) southwest of Southend-on-Sea (the nearest city), it is also the southernmost point in Essex.

Tilbury Town railway station is on a loop line of the London, Tilbury and Southend line, serving the town of Tilbury, Essex. It is 21 miles 48 chains (34.8 km) down the line from London Fenchurch Street via Rainham and it is situated between Grays and East Tilbury. Its three-letter station code is TIL. The station was opened on 15 June 1885 with the name Tilbury Dock by the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway. It was renamed Tilbury Town on 3 August 1934. It is on a link known as the Tilbury Loop, which joins the main line at the London end at Barking and at the country end at Pitsea. A bus link is provided for the Gravesend ferry, replacing the rail link to Tilbury Riverside which was closed in 1992. Today, the station and all trains serving it are operated by c2c.

Orsett Heath is a location and recently built hamlet in the unitary authority area of Thurrock, in the ceremonial county of Essex, England. It is located about twenty miles away from London. Nearby settlements include the towns of Tilbury and Grays and the villages of Orsett and Chadwell St Mary. For transport there is the A13 road, the A1089 road and the A1013 road nearby. The nearest railway station is Tilbury Town. At one time, Orsett Heath was probably part of a large swathe of heathland interspaced with woodland. This included Biggin Heath (heathland belonging to the manor of Biggin), Chadwell Heath (heathland belonging to the manor of Chadwell St Mary, not the place near Romford), Mucking Heath, Socketts Heath and Terrel's Heath all of which were on high ground compared to the nearby marsh and had poor sandy soil with underlying gravel and chalk.

Treetops School is an all-through special school with academy status in Grays, Essex, England. Students are from 5 to 19 with moderate learning difficulties and many are on the autistic spectrum, with speech and language problems. The school was first established in 1930 as the Grays Thurrock Open-Air School For 60 Delicate Children and became a special school in 1960. In 1998 it gained SEN specialisms and in 2017 it became an academy. Ofsted rated the school as outstanding in all categories, saying "Teaching is outstanding because teachers have exceptionally high expectations of what pupils can achieve and use practical activities to make learning interesting."

TS Queen Mary is a Clyde steamer launched in 1933 at the William Denny shipyard, Dumbarton, for Williamson-Buchanan Steamers. She is currently being restored as a museum ship, in Glasgow.
