West Chester University station

Philips Memorial Hall is a building of West Chester University, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States, named after George Morris Philips (principal from 1881–1920), originally opened in 1927. It is a contributing building in the West Chester State College Quadrangle Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. Designed by Walter F. Price, the exterior is fashioned from hammer-dressed Foxcroft Wissahickon schist, a local stone commonly used for buildings in the Collegiate Gothic style.Thanks to the support of Emilie Kessel Asplundh '27 and others, preservation and renovations were completed in 1999. Special features include: the whispering archway; the distinctive gargoyles; coats of arms and figures of western civilization; the 2,000-volume Philips Autographed Library; the 1,200-seat Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall; and the Presidential office suite.

West Chester State College Quadrangle Historic District, also known as the Quadrangle Historic District, is a group of historic academic buildings and national historic district located on the campus of West Chester University of Pennsylvania in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It consists of five contributing buildings built between 1891 and 1940. They are Recitation Hall (1891-1893), the former Model School (1899, Ruby Jones Hall), the Old Library (1902-1904), Philips Memorial Building (1925-1927), and Anderson Hall (1937-1940). Except for Philips and Anderson, these buildings are all constructed of native Chester County serpentine stone.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 8, 1981 for its significance in architecture and education.

It currently serves as a stop on the West Chester Railroad heritage railroad. The location was previously used as a stop on the Pennsylvania Railroad's (PRR) West Chester Branch, and later became a part of SEPTA's R3 West Chester Line. SEPTA discontinued regular passenger service here in September 1986, due to deteriorating track conditions, Chester County's desire to expand facilities at Exton station on SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Line, and the existence of faster and more frequent bus service on SEPTA Route 104 along West Chester Pike to 69th Street Terminal. Heritage service was restored in 1997 by the West Chester Railroad, a privately owned and operated tourist railroad that operates between Glen Mills and West Chester.

Butler House is a historic home located in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1845, and is a 2+1⁄2-story brick dwelling in the Federal style. It has a rear ell with porch. The house has been renovated into apartments. It was the home of Congressman Thomas S. Butler (1855–1928), father of U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler (1881–1940). Maj. Gen. Butler grew up in the house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Farmers and Mechanics Building is a historic "skyscraper" located in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was completed in 1908 and is a six-story skyscraper building, with a basement and penthouse in the Classical Revival style. The top floor once featured a Roof Garden. The exterior is faced in Indiana limestone and yellow hard face brick, with terra cotta decorative details. In 1918 when the Boy Scouts were founded in Chester County the Farmers and Mechanics Building became their headquarters. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is located in the West Chester Downtown Historic District.

US Post Office-West Chester, also called the Robert J. Thompson Post Office Building, is a historic post office located in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by architect James Knox Taylor for the Office of the Supervising Architect, and built in 1907 in the neoclassical style. It was constructed with Cockeysville Marble taken from a quarry near Avondale, Pennsylvania. Thirty years later, the post office was expanded with an addition to the rear of the building, increasing its size to 20,000 square feet.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the West Chester Downtown Historic District in 1985.In 2006, Congress passed Public Law 109-336, naming the building after Robert J. Thompson, a former Pennsylvania State Senator.In 2013, the West Chester post office was one of the buildings being considered for sale by the United States Postal Service, though as of 2023 it is still a functioning post office.
