Zedekiah's Cave—also called Solomon's Quarries—is a 5-acre (20,000 m2) underground meleke limestone quarry that runs the length of five city blocks under the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. It was carved over a period of several thousand years and is a remnant of the largest quarry in Jerusalem, stretching from Jeremiah's Grotto and the Garden Tomb to the walls of the Old City. The cave has great historical importance in Freemasonry. The cave is open to the public Sunday through Thursday for an admission fee and there are guided tours.

Jerusalem Walls National Park (also known as Jerusalem Walls-City of David National Park) is an Israeli national park located near the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. The national park was designed originally to surround the old city from all sides, to separate between the old city and the new constructions surrounding it while at the same time connecting between them, while preventing construction near the walls. The National park includes the site of the City of David on the southern part and connects to the Emek Tzurim National Park on the Northern-eastern part. The area of the national park includes the Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Schmidt's Girls College (SGC; German: Schmidt-Schule Ost-Jerusalem; Arabic: كلية شميدت) is an international German school for Christian and Muslim girls, located in East Jerusalem. It was founded in 1886 and approximately 500 pupils attend the school today. It includes a grundschule (primary school) program, as well as the Deutsche Internationale Abiturprüfung (DIAP, German International Abitur) program. It also offers a Tawjihi program. Although it is owned and supported by the German Association of the Holy Land, it is currently in the care of the international convent of the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus. Lessons are taught in German and the spoken language outside of class is English. The teaching staff is composed of both Arab and German teachers.

The Paulus-Haus is a pilgrim hospice in Jerusalem under the care of the German Association of the Holy Land. It is situated on the Nablus Road in the Eastern part of the modern city, directly opposite the Damascus Gate of the Old City. The monumental architecture is reminiscent of the crusader castles.

On 16 June 2017, two Palestinian men opened fire on Israeli police officers in the Old City of Jerusalem, injuring four of them. An additional attacker stabbed a policewoman, she was critically injured, and later died in hospital. All three attackers were shot and killed by the Israeli authorities.The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Palestinian militant organisations PFLP and Hamas rejected the claim, saying that the perpetrators were members of their groups. On 17 June, Israeli authorities said that the attack was under investigation and that there is no evidence yet for ISIL involvement.The attack was the third major terrorist attack in Jerusalem in 2017 after the 2017 Jerusalem Light Rail stabbing in which British tourist was stabbed to death, and the 2017 Jerusalem truck attack in which four Israeli soldiers were killed and 17 others wounded.

The Damascus Gate is one of the main Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is located in the wall on the city's northwest side and connects to a highway leading out to Nablus, which in the Hebrew Bible was called Shechem or Sichem, and from there, in times past, to the capital of Syria, Damascus; as such, its modern English name is the Damascus Gate, and its modern Hebrew name is Sha'ar Shkhem (שער שכם), meaning Shechem Gate, or in modern terms Nablus Gate. Of its historic Arabic names, Bāb al-Naṣr (باب النصر) means "gate of victory", and the current one, Bāb al-ʿĀmūd (باب العامود), means "gate of the column". The latter, in use continuously since at least as early as the 10th century, preserves the memory of a Roman column towering over the square behind the gate and dating to the 2nd century AD.

The Garden Tomb (Hebrew: גן הקבר) is a rock-cut tomb in Jerusalem, which was unearthed in 1867 and is considered by some Protestants to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. The tomb has been dated by Israeli archaeologist Gabriel Barkay to the 8th–7th centuries BC. The re-use of old tombs was not an uncommon practice in ancient times, but this would seem to contradict the biblical text that speaks of a new, not reused, tomb made for himself by Joseph of Arimathea (Matthew 27:57–60, John 19:41). Also, the trough in front of the tomb and the nearby cistern, described by proponents of the Garden Tomb as part of the tomb's sealing system and as the surrounding garden's source of water, respectively, have both been archaeologically dated to the Crusader period (12th–13th centuries). The organisation maintaining the Garden Tomb refrains from claiming that this is the authentic tomb of Jesus, while pointing out the similarities with the site described in the Bible, and the fact that the Garden Tomb better preserves its ancient outlook than the more traditional, but architecturally altered and time-damaged tomb from the mostly crowded Church of the Holy Sepulchre; for all of these reasons, they suggest that the Garden Tomb is more evocative of the events described in the Gospels.The Garden Tomb is adjacent to a rocky escarpment which since the mid-nineteenth century has been proposed by some scholars to be Golgotha. It has since been known as Skull Hill or Gordon's Calvary after Charles Gordon. In contradistinction to this modern identification, the traditional site where the death and resurrection of Christ are believed to have occurred has been the Church of the Holy Sepulchre at least since the fourth century. Since 1894, the Garden Tomb and its surrounding gardens have been maintained as a place of Protestant worship and reflection by a Protestant non-denominational charitable trust based in the United Kingdom named The Garden Tomb (Jerusalem) Association, a member of the Evangelical Alliance of Israel and the World Evangelical Alliance. As such, the Garden Tomb stands as a popular site of pilgrimage for many Christians, especially Evangelicals and other Protestants.

Herod's Gate (Arabic: باب الزاهرة, Bab az-Zahra, Hebrew: שער הפרחים‎ Translit.: Sha'ar HaPrakhim Translated: Flowers Gate) is one of the seven open Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. It connects the Muslim Quarter inside of the old city to the eponymic Palestinian neighbourhood of Bab az-Zahra, situated just outside. It is a short distance to the east of the Damascus Gate. Its elevation is 755 meters above sea level.

The Muslim Quarter (Arabic: حَـارَة الـمُـسْـلِـمِـيْـن Ḥāraṫ al-Muslimīn; Hebrew: הרובע המוסלמי Ha-Rovah ha-Muslemi) is one of the four sectors of the ancient, walled Old City of Jerusalem. It covers 31 hectares (77 acres) of the northeastern sector of the Old City. The quarter is the largest and most populous of the four quarters and extends from the Lions' Gate in the east, along the northern wall of the Temple Mount in the south, to the Damascus Gate—Western Wall route in the west. The Via Dolorosa starts in this quarter. The population of the Muslim Quarter is 22,000.

École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem, commonly known as École Biblique, is a French academic establishment in Jerusalem specializing in archaeology and Biblical exegesis.

The St. Stephen's Basilica (Hebrew: מנזר סנט אטיין) or simply the Church of St. Stephen, also known by its French name, Saint-Étienne, is the name given to a Catholic church located outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, on the road leading north to Nablus. It is next to the convent of St. Stephen, home to the French Bible and Archaeology School (École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem), and the convent church. An old tradition sees this place as the place where the martyrdom of Saint Stephen took place, the martyr deacon mentioned in the book of Acts (Acts 7: 54–60). A rival site is located in the Kidron Valley.

The Church of the Holy Family (Hebrew: כנסיית המשפחה הקדושה, Latin: Ecclesia Sanctae Familiae, German: Kirche der Heiligen Familie) also known as the Chapel of the Holy Family, is a Catholic church building located in the Austrian Hospice in the Old City of Jerusalem. The church building originated as a pilgrim hostel of the Catholic Church created in 1853 by the Austrians in Jerusalem (Österreichisches Hospiz zur Heiligen Familie). The chapel of the complex was ceremonially consecrated 19 March 1863 by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Giuseppe Valerga, open to pilgrims of the Latin rite.The liturgical organ of the chapel was built in 1910 by the Rieger organ manufacturer of Jägerndorf (now Krnov) in the Czech Republic (in 1910 in Austria-Hungary).
