Janssen Vaccines, formerly Crucell, is a biotechnology company specializing in vaccines and biopharmaceutical technologies. It was formed when Johnson & Johnson acquired the Dutch biotech company Crucell based in Leiden and placed it in their pharmaceutical division.

University of Applied Sciences Leiden (abbreviated as UAS Leiden; Dutch: Hogeschool Leiden), is a vocational university in the western Netherlands, located in the city of Leiden. It currently has approximately 12,000 students, mainly studying towards associate and bachelor's degrees. The school also offers master's degrees in nursing and physical therapy.

Naturalis Biodiversity Center (Dutch: Nederlands Centrum voor Biodiversiteit Naturalis) is a national museum of natural history and a research center on biodiversity in Leiden, Netherlands. The museum, except the research facilities, was closed from September 2018 to mid 2019 due to renovations. Temporary exhibitions were held in the Pesthuis (historical Plague hospital), the former entrance building, during the renovations.Although its current name and organization are relatively recent, the history of Naturalis can be traced back to the early 1800s. Its collection includes approximately 37 million specimens, making it one of the largest natural history collections in the world.

The Corpus Museum is a human biology interactive museum, located near Oegstgeest in the Netherlands. Billed as "a journey through the human body", the museum provides both education and entertainment through a combination of permanent and variable collections. Opened in 2008 by Queen Beatrix, the museum is the world's first museum of its type.

De Beukenhof was a hotel-restaurant located in Oegstgeest, Netherlands. It was a former fine dining restaurant that was awarded one or two Michelin stars since 1957 up to 1995. The restaurant closed in 2014, due to bankruptcy.Head chef in the time of the Michelin stars was Koos van Fulpen. He retired in 1995.

The African Studies Centre (Afrika-Studiecentrum) is a scientific institute in the Netherlands that undertakes social-science research on Africa with the aim of promoting a better understanding of historical, current and future social developments in Sub-Saharan Africa. The centre is an interfaculty institute of Leiden University. The present director is Marleen Dekker. The institute is located in the Pieter de la Court Building of Leiden University’s Faculty of Social Sciences.

Het Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest (informally RLO) is a secondary school in the town of Oegstgeest in South Holland, founded in 1956.Het Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest is part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation, which also contains other schools in the region, including the International School of The Hague and the European School of the Hague, and formerly the Rijnlands Lyceum Dubai. Leiden University Libraries is a library founded in 1575 in Leiden, Netherlands. It is regarded as a significant place in the development of European culture: it is a part of a small number of cultural centres that gave direction to the development and spread of knowledge during the Enlightenment. Holdings include approximately 5,200,000 volumes, 1,000,000 e-books, 70,000 e-journals, 2,000 current paper journals, 60,000 Oriental and Western manuscripts, 500,000 letters, 100,000 maps, 100,000 prints, 12,000 drawings and 300,000 photographs.
