Oregon City is the county seat of Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, located on the Willamette River near the southern limits of the Portland metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 37,572. Established in 1829 by the Hudson's Bay Company, in 1844 it became the first U.S. city west of the Rocky Mountains to be incorporated.

The Willamette Meteorite, officially named Willamette and originally known as Tomanowos by the Clackamas Chinook Native American tribe, is an iron-nickel meteorite found in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is the largest meteorite found in the United States and the sixth largest in the world. There was no impact crater at the discovery site; researchers believe the meteorite landed in what is now Canada or Montana, and was transported as a glacial erratic to the Willamette Valley during the Missoula Floods at the end of the last Ice Age (~13,000 years ago). It has long been held sacred by indigenous peoples of the Willamette Valley, including the federally recognized Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon (CTGRC). The meteorite is on display at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, which acquired it in 1906. Having been seen by an estimated 40 million people over the years, and given its striking appearance, it is among the most famous meteorites. In 2005, the CTGRC sued to have the meteorite returned to their control, ultimately reaching an agreement that gave the tribe access to the meteorite while allowing the museum to keep it as long as they are exhibiting it.

The Parents of Murdered Children Memorial, sometimes abbreviated as the POMC Memorial, is a memorial to child murder victims, located at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City, Oregon, in the United States. The memorial was dedicated in September 2013, becoming the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest and the eighth in the United States.

Oregon City station is an Amtrak station in Oregon City, Oregon, United States. The current station consists of a platform and the city's historic Southern Pacific depot that was restored and moved to the site in 2010.The station is served by Amtrak Cascades Talgo trains originally with two northbound departures in the morning and two southbound departures in the evening. Beginning January 6, 2014, schedules changed to one Portland-Eugene in the morning; one Portland-Eugene in the evening; one morning and one afternoon train each between Eugene and Portland. The Coast Starlight (Seattle – Los Angeles) passes through the station but does not stop. Ridership at the Oregon City station was 9,165 in 2011. (By comparison, some 330,000 riders boarded and alighted TriMet's 16 daily WES commuter rail trains at the Beaverton Transit Center during the same period).The 7:24 Amtrak Cascades is a non-stop, 20-minute ride to Portland's Union Station—faster than any TriMet bus or light-rail route offered. The TriMet bus 35 stops near both stations.

Oregon City College was a short-lived school in what is today the U.S. state of Oregon. Organized by the Baptist Church in 1849, it was located in Oregon City and is partly a predecessor to Linfield College.

Mountain View Cemetery is a pioneer cemetery in Oregon City, Oregon, United States. It is located above Newell Creek Canyon, with views of Mount Hood to the east. The cemetery features the Parents of Murdered Children Memorial.

The First Congregational Church of Oregon City, also known as Atkinson Memorial Congregational Church, is a historic building located at 6th and John Adams Sts. in Oregon City, Oregon. The congregation was formed in 1844 as a non-denominational Protestant congregation. In 1892 they affiliated with the Congregational Christian Church from the local Congregational Society that had been formed in 1849 from the 1844 congregation. The present building was constructed in the Gothic Revival style in 1925 after the previous building had been destroyed in a fire in 1923. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It is historically important as a landmark in Oregon City and, according to its NRHP nomination, "as the fullest expression of an architectural type in which the architect, Willard F. Tobey, specialized and for its outstanding array of pictorial stained glass.": 7  The stained glass windows were designed by Portland's Povey Brothers Studio. In 1961 the congregation became affiliated with Unitarian Universalism, and they changed their name to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Willamette Falls in 2016.

The Oregon City Carnegie Library is an historic library building located in Oregon City, Oregon, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. The building was completed in 1913 and underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2015.

The Harvey Cross House is a historic residence in Oregon City, Oregon, United States. It was built c. 1885–1890, then relocated within Oregon City c. 1915, and is one of the finest, most stately examples of Italianate residential architecture in the city. The house was built for Harvey Cross, an investor in the Barlow Road and founder, with partners, founded the Gladstone Real Estate Association, which eventually led to the establishment of the city of Gladstone, Oregon. He served as a county judge and state senator, and promoted Chautauqua in the Willamette Valley.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Jon Storm Park is a public park in Oregon City, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Named after a community volunteer who died in 1994, the park opened in 2008 and has a picnic shelter and plaza.

The Oregon City Transit Center is a TriMet transit center located at McLoughlin Blvd. and 11th Street in Oregon City, Oregon. The northwest end of the center is at McLoughlin Blvd. and the southeast end is at Main Street, while Moss Street and 11th Street run through the center and are restricted to buses only.

The Francis Ermatinger House is located in Oregon City, Oregon, United States. Built by Francis Ermatinger in 1843, it is the oldest house in Clackamas County. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, and has been operated as a museum.Built in the Greek Revival style, the house was originally located near the Willamette River, in the downtown area near Willamette Falls. Francis Ermatinger, an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company, remained in Oregon City after the company abandoned its operations there in 1845.The house has been moved twice in its history, first in 1910 to the corner of 11th and Center streets, and again in 1986 to its current location at the corner of 6th and John Adams streets, adjacent to the Stevens Crawford House museum.It possibly was in the Ermatinger House's left parlor that the famous coin toss between Francis Pettygrove and Asa Lovejoy occurred, reputedly during a dinner party held in the house in 1845. The two were arguing about whether the town they envisioned on their land claim, then called The Clearing, should be incorporated as Boston—Lovejoy's hometown in Massachusetts—or Portland—Pettygrove's hometown in Maine. Pettygrove won two out of three tosses, resulting in the city of Portland, Oregon. Multiple versions of the coin-toss location have come down. It is agreed that the event happened in an Oregon City home in 1845. But in whose home, as it never had been explicitly stated at the time? Various stories relay that the coin toss occurred in either one of the other of their houses, or in the home of A.E. Wilson, or perhaps the home of Francis Ermatinger, the very hospitable HBC Chief Trader, whose house had a fine dining room, as well as a parlor, and a new kitchen. In any event, the Ermatinger House is the only remaining house of that early period, and hence is now suited as a site to celebrate the naming of Portland in 1845.Before repairs were complete, damage from being moved twice had left the house unstable, resulting in the windows being removed. In 2011, it was closed to the public. The house was re-opened on July 7, 2018 by the City of Oregon City Parks and Recreation Department. Guided tours are available Fridays and Saturdays.
