The Vaikunda Malai (Tamil:வைகுண்ட மலை) is a hill which is part of the Mahendragiri Hills situated near Athala vilai of Kanyakumari district in the Western Ghats of India. This hill has religious importance in the Ayyavazhi religion during the festival of Ayya Vaikunda Avataram, the day of incarnation of Ayya Vaikundar. During the celebration, two processions, one from Thiruvananthapuram and other from Tiruchendur, reach Athala vilai and circle the hill. A Jyothi (flame) is lit at the top of this hill to symbolise the birth of Vaikundar. Unlike other Ayyavazhi holy places, Vaikunda Malai is not mentioned in the Ayyavazhi scriptures.

Thiruppathisaram is a village in the Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, the southern Indian state. This village is renowned for the Thiruvazhmarban Temple dedicated (Vishnu).

Rajavoor is a village located in Agastheeswaram Taluk of Kanniyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. Previously Rajavoor was called as Vanchimarthandanalloor in some land registration documents during the reign of Travancore Princely State ruled by Maharajas (refer Nagam Ayya's 'State Manual of Travancore'). Rajavoor has nearly 99% Catholic population. Rajavoor is popularly known for St. Michael's Shrine which is located at the center part of Rajavoor. The annual feast starts on the first Friday of May with a flag hoisting followed by a ten-day Mass and adoration. The eighth, ninth and tenth days are marked with a car procession to St. Michael Archangel, carnival ended with High Mass in front of the Holy Cars. The Roman Catholics and parish are administered by the Kottar Diocese. Another notable church, Our Lady of Presentation (Kaanikkai Maathaa) Church is attached to the Rajavoor Parish as Sub-station. The annual feast starts on the last Friday of January with a flag hoisting followed by a ten-day Mass and adoration. The ninth and tenth day are marked with a car procession to Our Lady of Presentation Church. Rajavoor is facilitated with Government Upgraded Primary Health center, the land and hospital building worth about one crore was donated by the people of Rajavoor and newly modified St. Michael High school. The school was established in the year 1922.

Marungoor, also spelt Marungur, is a panchayat town near Suchindrum in Kanniyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The place has an area of about 10 km2. The Subramania Swamy Temple, which is situated atop a small hillock is located here This temple area is called as Kumarapuram thoppur. Shashti and Soora Samharam are the famous festivals at this temple. The famous kandhashashti kavasam festival is very popular here and it is celebrated as a major festival. The villages of Eraviputhoor and Nallur are situated in the west and Mylaudy in the south-east. In the east is Ramanathichanputhur village and in the north is Rajavoor village. Suchindram is about five km south-west of Marungoor. Suchindram Kulam, Suchindrum Temple, Thovalai, Kanyakumari and Vattakottai are nearby tourist spots. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is the nearest airport. Marungoor can be reached from Kanyakumari, Nagercoil and Suchindram by bus.

The Thiruvazhmarban Temple, also known as Sri Kuralappa Perumal Temple in Thiruppathisaram, a village in Kanyakumari district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. Thiruvazhmarban Temple is located about 5 km far, north-easterly to Nagercoil, 20 km far, north-westerly to Kanyakumari and 45 km south-west of Nanguneri Divya Desam. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th–9th centuries CE. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams of malayala nadu divyadesham dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Thiruvazhmarban and his consort Lakshmi as Kamalavalli in kerala tantric traditions . The oldest inscription in the temple is from 1139 CE indicating gifts to the temple. A granite wall surrounds the temple, enclosing all its shrines. The temple tank is located opposite to the temple, outside the main entrance. Thiruvazhmarban is believed to have appeared to the Saptarishis, the seven sages, and to Udayanangai, the mother of Nammalvar. The place is the birthplace of Nammalvar, one of the twelve Alvar saints in Vaishnava philosophy. The temple follows Thenkalai tradition of worship. Six daily rituals and many yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the ten-day Chittirai Brahmotsavam during the Tamil month of Chittirai (April - May), Aadi Swati festival for Kulasekara Alvar, Navaratri during September - October and Vaikunta Ekadasi during Margali (December - January) being the most prominent. The temple is maintained and administered by Kanyakumari Devasthanam.

Ozhuginasery is a neighbourhood in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. Ozhuginasery is located at an altitude of about 67 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 8.1895°N 77.4379°E / 8.1895; 77.4379. A river viz., Pazhayar passes through Ozhuginasery. The birthplace of past comedian actor N. S. Krishnan is Ozhuginasery. Ozhuginasery has a Government educational institution viz., K. N. S. K. (Kalaivanar N. S. Krishnan) Government Primary School and a private educational institution viz., The Rajas International School. There is an old Hindu temple namely Chozharaja temple in Ozhuginasery.

Nagercoil Junction railway station (station code: NCJ) is an NSG–3 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is a railway junction in Kanyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Vadiveeswaram is a village, now part of the town of Nagercoil, in Kanyakumari district in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The village was originally an agraharam, or a traditional double line of houses occupied by Brahmins and flanking a temple or pair of temples. It is most famous as the birthplace of Neelakanta Sivan, a well-known 19th-century composer.

Suchindram is a panchayat town in the Kanyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with the Indian postal code 629704. It is an important pilgrim centre and the site of the famous Thanumalayan Temple. There is an Anjaneya (or Hanuman) statue that stands at 22 feet (6.7 m) and is carved from a single granite block.

The Thanumalayan Temple, also called Sthanumalayan Temple, is an important Hindu temple located in Suchindram in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. The Thanumalayan Temple is of importance to both Shaivaite and Vaishnavite sects of Hinduism, as the name Stanumalaya denotes the Trimurti; "Stanu" means Mahesha; "Mal" means Vishnu; and the "Ayan" means Brahma. It counts among the Abhimana Kshetrams in Vaishnavite traditions. It is one of the 108 Shiva Temples revered by the Kerala Hindu culture, though this temple is now in Tamil Nadu, after Kanyakumari District was merged into Tamil Nadu from Travancore. The temple complex covers around two acres and has two gateway towers called gopurams. The tallest is the eastern tower with 11 stories and a height of 44 metres (144 ft). The temple has numerous shrines, with those of Sthanumalayan and that of Hanuman being the most prominent. The temple has six daily rituals at various times from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and many yearly festivals on its calendar, with the festival during Margazhi being the most prominent. The present masonry structure was built during the Chola dynasty in the 9th century, while later expansions are attributed to Thirumalai Nayak and the Travancore Maharajas. The temple is maintained and administered by the Dharmapuram Aadhenam. The temple is associated with Indra whose sin was propitiated after worshiping the presiding deity and also Anasuya known for her chastity. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Vadasery is an area/village of Nagercoil city in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. It is also famous for its Christopher (mofussil) bus stand, one of the two bus termini in Nagercoil is located here. Long route (mofussil) buses to other districts in Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala starts here. It is a thriving region of Nagercoil with large vegetable, fish and meat markets. Unique temple jewelry is made at Vadasery, Nagercoil. The Vadasery temple jewelry has a Geographical Indications (GI) registry from the Government of India. Indian classical dancers use these jewels.

Kottar is a locality and a bazaar area of Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu state, in the southernmost part of Peninsular India; though a part of Nagercoil today, it is the original town around which the city of Nagercoil grew. It was an ancient trade centre of both Pandyans and Cheras at various times. The ancient mercantile centre of Kottar was established on the banks of the Pahrali River (Pazhayar). Robert Caldwell describes the extent of Malayalam in the mid 19th century as extending from the vicinity of Mangalore in the north where it supersedes with Tulu and Kannada to Kottar beyond Pahrali River near Kanyakumari in the south where it begins to supersede with the Tamil and from Malabar Coast in the west to Western Ghats in the east besides the inhabited islands of Lakshadweep in the Arabian Sea. In the modern day, Kottar is the main commodities market area of Kanyakumari District. The main railway station of Nagercoil, the Nagercoil Junction is at Kottar. The only Government Ayurveda Medical College in Tamilnadu state is also at Kottar.
