Nagaraja Temple is an early large temple found in the city of Nagercoil (Nagarkōyil) near the southern tip of Tamil Nadu, India. Its dating is uncertain but likely pre-12th-century. The main sanctum is dedicated to the Nagaraja – the king of serpents. Padmanabham (1985), Heritage Of The Tamils Temple Arts, Editors: SV Subramanian and G Rajendran, International Institute of Tamil Studies, Since the 17th-century, new Hindu shrines have been added to the temple complex attracting devotees of Krishna (Vishnu), as well as Shaiva and Shakti Hindus. The original iconography of the Tirthankaras and Padmavati Devi have and continue to remain a part of the sacred pantheon close to the temple's main sanctum. The temple has three shrines. The oldest and the main shrine's deity remains the original Nagaraja. The second shrine is dedicated to Ananthakrishna (baby Krishna dancing on a coiled snake) with Rukmini and Satyabhama. The third shrine is dedicated to Shiva. The mandapa includes six icons of Tirthankaras and a goddess such as Parsvanatha and Padmavati Devi with rare, non-standard emblems (all lions). It also includes those of Hindu deities such as Subrahmanya Swami, Ganesha and Devi Bhagavati.

Vadasery is an area/village of Nagercoil city in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. It is also famous for its Christopher (mofussil) bus stand, one of the two bus termini in Nagercoil is located here. Long route (mofussil) buses to other districts in Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala starts here. It is a thriving region of Nagercoil with large vegetable, fish and meat markets. Unique temple jewelry is made at Vadasery, Nagercoil. The Vadasery temple jewelry has a Geographical Indications (GI) registry from the Government of India. Indian classical dancers use these jewels.

State Express Transport Corporation has a Bus depot in Meenakshipuram. There is a Bus Terminus viz., Anna Bus Stand which is situated on Cape road. Meenakshipuram area falls under the Nagercoil Assembly constituency. The winner of the election held in the year 2021 as the member of its assembly constituency is M. R. Gandhi. Also, this area belongs to Kanniyakumari Lok Sabha constituency. Vijay Vasanth won the 2019 elections, as the member of its Lok Sabha constituency.

Vadiveeswaram is a village, now part of the town of Nagercoil, in Kanyakumari district in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The village was originally an agraharam, or a traditional double line of houses occupied by Brahmins and flanking a temple or pair of temples. It is most famous as the birthplace of Neelakanta Sivan, a well-known 19th-century composer.

The Salvation Army Catherine Booth Hospital (CBH) is a hospital and nursing school run by the Salvation Army in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India. It is named after Catherine Booth, the wife of William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army. This hospital was started by Capt. Henry John (Harry) Andrews, in the year of 1893. After he called by father of the medical work in the worldwide salvation army. This mission hospital is situated at Vadasery, Nagercoil, which is 18 km away from Kanyakumari. It was started in 1893 when missionary Harry Andrews treated the first patient in a tiny bath room. Since then it has grown into a 300-bed general hospital with departments of medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and otorhinolaryngology. During the year 1900 the new building was inaugurated.

Nagercoil, natively spelt as Nāgarkovil (Tamil: [n̪aːhɐɾkoːʋil], "Temple of the Nāgas", or Nagaraja-Temple), is a Municipal Corporation city and the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu state, India. Situated close to the tip of the Indian peninsula, it lies on an undulating terrain between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. Nagercoil is a centre for a range of economic activities in the small but densely populated Kanyakumari District. Economic activities in and around the city include tourism, wind energy, IT services, marine fish production and exports, rubber and cloves plantations, agro-crops, floral production, manufacture of fishnets, rubber products among other activities. 'Nagercoil Cloves' is a distinct quality of dried cloves in the spices market, noted for its aroma and medicinal value. Cloves, pepper and other spices are grown in estates in the Western Ghats, outside the town. Nagercoil is also the nearest city to the ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri and the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant. The city, along with the district of Kanyakumari, stands at the top in many Human Development Index parameters in Tamil Nadu state, including education, per capita income, health indices, etc. The municipality of Nagercoil was upgraded as a Municipal corporation on the eve of its 100th year as a city on 14 February 2019.

Nagercoil Junction railway station (station code: NCJ) is an NSG–3 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is a railway junction in Kanyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Vetturnimadam is a neighbourhood in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. Vetturnimadam is located at an altitude of about 79 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 8.190000°N 77.421100°E / 8.190000; 77.421100 (i.e., 8°11'24.0"N, 77°25'16.0"E).Nagercoil, Kottar, Vadasery, Parvathipuram and Krishnancoil are some of the important neighbourhoods of Vetturnimadam. A Higher Secondary School viz., The Salvation Army Higher Secondary School is located in Vetturnimadam. An Arts and Science College viz., Pioneer Kumaraswamy College which is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, is situated in Vetturnimadam. Christ the King church is one of the churches in Vetturnimadam. The Salvation Army Booth Tucker Memorial church is one more church situated in Vetturnimadam. Nagercoil Town railway station is located nearer to Vetturnimadam and the distance between Vetturnimadam and the railway station is 1.7 km (Refer Google Maps).

Kottar is a locality and a bazaar area of Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu state, in the southernmost part of Peninsular India; though a part of Nagercoil today, it is the original town around which the city of Nagercoil grew. It was an ancient trade centre of both Pandyans and Cheras at various times. The ancient mercantile centre of Kottar was established on the banks of the Pahrali River (Pazhayar). Robert Caldwell describes the extent of Malayalam in the mid 19th century as extending from the vicinity of Mangalore in the north where it supersedes with Tulu and Kannada to Kottar beyond Pahrali River near Kanyakumari in the south where it begins to supersede with the Tamil and from Malabar Coast in the west to Western Ghats in the east besides the inhabited islands of Lakshadweep in the Arabian Sea. In the modern day, Kottar is the main commodities market area of Kanyakumari District. The main railway station of Nagercoil, the Nagercoil Junction is at Kottar. The only Government Ayurveda Medical College in Tamilnadu state is also at Kottar.

South Thamaraikulam is a village in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, near Nagercoil. It is the site of Thamaraikulam Pathi, one of the five holy places of Ayyavazhi.
