Färlöv Church (Swedish: Färlövs kyrka) is a medieval Lutheran church in Färlöv in the province of Scania, Sweden. It belongs to the Diocese of Lund.

The Kristianstad University (Swedish: Högskolan Kristianstad) is a university college (högskola) in Kristianstad, Sweden.Established in 1977, Kristianstad University is one of the newest Swedish institutions of higher education. However, higher education in the region is much older. Teacher education can be traced back to 1835. A training course for nursing was started in 1893. Technical education was established in 1912. Despite the young age of the institution of Business Administration the BSc programme in business administration is ranked top 3 in the country by the Swedish Council of Higher Education since 2012 (ranked 1st 2012 and 2017). A master thesis done in Stockholm School of Economics ranks Kristianstad's programme as #2 behind the first mentioned. In 1995, Kristianstad University moved into the present main campus. Kristianstad University is an associate member of the European University Association. It also participates in the Erasmus Programme. Lillö Ruin is the ruin of a medieval castle, located in Kristianstad municipality, Scania, Sweden. Not much is known of the earliest history of Lillö ("Little island"). A fortress was built there, probably as early as the late 13th century. The fortress was gradually improved to become more of a castle, Lillöhus. In the war of 1657 - 1658 Denmark lost the province of Scania to Sweden and Lillöhus was demolished. It has remained a ruin ever since. The fields and wetlands surrounding the ruin are rich in bird life.

Kristianstad Municipality (Kristianstads kommun) is a municipality in Skåne County in southernmost Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Kristianstad. The present municipality was created in three steps during the last nationwide local government reform, and it has the largest area of the municipalities of Skåne County. On 10 January 2022, a stabbing occurred at NTI Gymnasiet, Kristianstad, Sweden when 16-year-old then-student Laaiti Ekenstéen, armed himself with four knives, stabbed and injured two people before disarming himself and calling the school’s SOS Alarm. He then sat down and calmly waited for the police to arrive and was then arrested only 7 minutes after the attack began. The arrest was uneventful and Ekenstéen remained cooperative throughout the entire investigation.

Kristianstad County (Swedish: Kristianstads län) was a county of Sweden from 1719 to 31 December 1996 when it was merged with Malmöhus County to form Skåne County. The seat of residence for the Governor was in Kristianstad.

The siege of Christianstad (Danish: Belejringen af Christianstad, Swedish: Belägringen av Kristianstad), also known as the Capture of Christianstad (Danish: Overtagelsen af Christianstad, Swedish: övertagandet av Kristianstad), was a siege conducted by Christian V of Denmark on the Swedish-held city of Christianstad (Kristianstad) from 10 to 15 August 1676 during the Scanian War. The besieged Swedes would eventually surrender, and Christianstad would be occupied until 1678.
