Dinglewood House (Columbus, Georgia)

The Columbus Museum in Columbus, Georgia, was founded in 1953. It contains many artifacts on both American art and regional history, displayed in both its permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions. It is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. Former curator and director, Joseph B. Mahan, Jr., was instrumental in the creation of the Institute for the Study of American Cultures in 1983.

The Aflac Building, located in Columbus, Georgia, was ordered in late November 1974, the groundbreaking ceremony took place January 4, 1975, and the tower was complete and occupied on December 19, 1975. The tower is the tallest building in the U.S. state of Georgia outside of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, Savannah, and Augusta. It Is located about 1 mile east of downtown. The building is 278 feet (85 m) tall. It serves as the headquarters for Aflac, an insurance company. The tower was to modernize the downtown Columbus area along with the Columbus government center built a year earlier.

Highland Hall, located in MidTown Columbus, Georgia was built in 1857 by the Ellis family and originally sat on a ten-acre lot. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places on 1980.

Columbus Union Station was a union station in Columbus, Georgia. The building was built in 1901 and was designed in the Second Empire style by the architectural firm, Bruce and Morgan. The station hosted the Central Railroad of Georgia, the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and the Southern Railway. It was located at 1200 Sixth Avenue, directly north of 12th Street, Columbus.By 1932 Seaboard Air Line passenger trains stopped calling at the station, as the road's operations through Columbus became freight-only. The SAL previously had run passenger trains to Richland, then to Albany.

Goldens' Foundry and Machine Co. is a privately held ductile iron and gray iron foundry with headquarters in Columbus, Georgia and additional facilities in Cordele, Georgia in the United States. It has operated continuously since 1882. Goldens' provides castings to a variety of industries, including agricultural, construction, power transmission, defense, and large vehicles.

Columbus High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Columbus, Georgia, United States. It serves as one of the Muscogee County School District's liberal arts magnet schools. It opened in 1890. In 2018, the school ranked second in the state of Georgia, 105th in the nation, and 21st among magnet schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

The Old City Cemetery, also known as Linwood Cemetery, is a 28.7-acre (11.6 ha) cemetery on what is now Linwood Boulevard, in Columbus, Georgia. It dates from 1828, when the town of Columbus was founded, or before. It appears in surveyor Edward Lloyd Thomas's original plan for the city. The cemetery consists mostly of rectangular family plots bordered by iron fences or walls made of brick or granite, accessed by a main east-west corridor and perpendicular lanes. It includes both simple and elaborate tombstones, some displaying Egyptian Revival or Gothic styles. The cemetery was given the name "Linwood" in 1894 by city council resolution, probably to honor Columbus author Caroline Lee Hentz whose works include Ernest Linwood, an 1856 book.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.According to its 1978 nomination, the majority of prominent Columbus persons are buried there. Its burials include more than 200 Confederate Army soldiers representing every state in the Confederacy.Thomas's own son was an early burial, as he died and was buried in the cemetery in 1828 while Thomas was amidst his work surveying, but apparently the grounds include earlier marked and unmarked graves of "'early traders, river people, and Indians.'"

Temple Israel is the second oldest Jewish congregation in Georgia, United States. Founded in 1854 as Temple B'nai Israel, a Charter Member of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, now the Union for Reform Judaism, it remains a congregation affiliated with Reform Judaism. Today the Jewish population of Columbus is less than 750 individuals and Temple Israel community retains around 150 members.

The First African Baptist Church Parsonage in Columbus, Georgia is a historic church parsonage at 911 5th Avenue. It is a one-story Victorian cottage with Eastlake trim that was built in 1915–16. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.In 1916 it was the residence of Rev. J. Henry Smith, pastor of the First African Baptist Church. It was home of Rev. Jacob T. Brown in 1918 and was the home of Rev. Broadus H. Hogan in 1918. Both were pastors of the church.It was listed on the National Register along with other historic properties identified in a large survey.

It was built in 1915 and added to the National Register in 1980. The First Baptist Church of Columbus was key in the construction. It is featured on the Black Heritage Trail.

St. Luke School is a K–8 private, coeducational, college-preparatory day school located in Columbus, Georgia, United States. The school was established in 1998 by members of St. Luke Church. St. Luke School is accredited by AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The Church of the Holy Family is a Catholic Church located in Downtown Columbus, Georgia that was built in 1880. The Catholic church in Columbus had outgrown its original church built in 1829. The church's architect/builder, Daniel Matthew Foley, had designed 16 other churches before coming to Columbus to design this church. It is the only Gothic Revival church in Columbus and "is an architectural as well as religious anchor point in the community."It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It was listed on the National Register along with other historic properties identified in a large survey.
