The First African Baptist Church Parsonage in Columbus, Georgia is a historic church parsonage at 911 5th Avenue. It is a one-story Victorian cottage with Eastlake trim that was built in 1915–16. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.In 1916 it was the residence of Rev. J. Henry Smith, pastor of the First African Baptist Church. It was home of Rev. Jacob T. Brown in 1918 and was the home of Rev. Broadus H. Hogan in 1918. Both were pastors of the church.It was listed on the National Register along with other historic properties identified in a large survey.

Also, this was the home of Carleton B. Gibson, who was superintendent of Columbus' public schools and who was largely responsible for the founding of Columbus' Industrial High School (in 1906) — the first of its kind in the United States. The purpose of the Industrial School was to provide the children whose parents worked in nearbv cottonmills with an academic trade school of high school ranking."

The Springer Opera House is a historic theater at 103 Tenth Street in Downtown Columbus, Georgia. First opened February 21, 1871, the theater was named the State Theatre of Georgia by Governor Jimmy Carter for its 100th anniversary season, a designation made permanent by the 1992 state legislature. The Springer has hosted legendary performers such as Edwin Booth, Oscar Wilde, Ethel Barrymore, Agnes de Mille, and bandleader John Philip Sousa. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1978 for its architecture and state of preservation.

Church Square is a city block in downtown Columbus, Georgia home to two churches: First Baptist Church of Columbus and St. Luke United Methodist Church. The block, located between 2nd and 3rd Avenues and 11th and 12th Streets, is significant because it is the only remaining square designated for church use by Edward Lloyd Thomas, who surveyed the area in 1828 and drew up the original city plan. First Presbyterian Church is a historic church at 1100 1st Avenue in Columbus, Georgia. The church is affiliated with the PCUSA. Its building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.The congregation had worshipped in two previous church buildings before having its current building built, at cost of more than $30,000. It was dedicated in 1862. The building was damaged by fire in November 1891 but was fully restored by February 1893.It was listed on the National Register along with other historic properties identified in a large survey.

Columbus Union Station was a union station in Columbus, Georgia. The building was built in 1901 and was designed in the Second Empire style by the architectural firm, Bruce and Morgan. The station hosted the Central Railroad of Georgia, the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and the Southern Railway. It was located at 1200 Sixth Avenue, directly north of 12th Street, Columbus.By 1932 Seaboard Air Line passenger trains stopped calling at the station, as the road's operations through Columbus became freight-only. The SAL previously had run passenger trains to Richland, then to Albany.
