Danvers State Hospital

The General Israel Putnam House in Danvers, Massachusetts, United States, is a historic First Period house recorded in the National Register of Historic Places. The house is also sometimes known as the Thomas Putnam House after Lt. Thomas Putnam (1615–1686), who built the home circa 1648. His grandson, Israel Putnam, the famous general of the American Revolution, was born in the house. Lt. Thomas Putnam was the father of Sgt. Thomas Putnam Jr., (Israel's half-uncle), a notorious figure in the Salem witch trials. The Putnam House is now owned by the Emerson Family, the same owners of Putnam Pantry.

Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School (ENSATS) is an agricultural and technical high school located in Hathorne section of Danvers, Massachusetts, United States. Opening in September 2014, Essex Technical High School succeeded North Shore Technical High School in Middleton, Massachusetts, Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers, Massachusetts, and the vocational programs at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.

Glen Magna Farms (4.5 ha / 11 acres) is a historic country estate located at the end of Ingersoll Street, Danvers, Massachusetts. It is currently owned by the Danvers Historical Society and open daily. An admission donation is suggested. Guided tours of the house and gardens are offered from May to July and includes a box lunch. The estate began during the War of 1812 when Joseph Peabody, a leading Salem merchant, bought a 20-acre (81,000 m2) property with house. With additional purchases, the estate eventually grew to 330 acres (1.3 km2). In 1893, Ellen Peabody Endicott, his granddaughter, hired the Boston architecture firm of Little, Browne & Moore to expand the house to its current form. In 1926 she was awarded the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's Hunnewell Gold Medal for the estate's plantings. Her son, William Crowninshield Endicott, Jr., continued to improve the grounds, most notably in 1901 by moving the Derby Summer House (built 1794 to designs by Samuel McIntire) to the property. In 1963 the Danvers Historical Society purchased the central 11 acres (45,000 m2) of the property for restoration and preservation. Much of the remainder of the estate, some 165 acres (0.67 km2), is now the public Endicott Park. Today the grounds are open to the public for viewing and special events. Key features of the grounds include the striking Derby Summer House with its enclosed rose garden designed by Herbert Browne; Cushing pergola with wisteria; flower garden with small fountain and geraniums, peonies, lilies, hostas, and roses; old fashioned central garden; shrubbery garden of rhododendrons, hemlocks, forsythia, azaleas, fringe tree, dogwood, and weeping beech; and a carriage road and miscellaneous statuary.

North Shore Community College is a public community college in Massachusetts with campuses in Danvers, and Lynn. The college offers over 80 associate degree and certificate programs to approximately 10,000 students a year from the 26 cities and towns along the coastal region from north metropolitan Boston to Cape Ann. North Shore Community College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.

The Derby Summer House, also known as the McIntire Tea-house, is a summer house designed in 1793 by architect Samuel McIntire, now located on the grounds of the Glen Magna Farms, Danvers, Massachusetts. Since 1958 it has been owned by the Danvers Historical Society. A National Historic Landmark, it is significant as an extremely rare and well-preserved example of an 18th-century summer house, and also includes some of the earliest American sculpture in the carved wooden figures mounted on its roof.

The White-Preston House is a historic First Period house in Danvers, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a side-gable roof, twin interior chimneys, and clapboard siding. Its main entrance is sheltered by a gable-roofed portico. The oldest portion of the house, its front right, dates to about 1722, with the front rooms on the left added soon afterward. In the 19th century the rear of the house was either rebuilt or enlarged to be a full two stories in height, and the house was given a modest Greek Revival stylistic treatment.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Essex Technical High School is a career technical high school located in Hathorne, Massachusetts, United States which is a sub-section of Danvers, Massachusetts. was opened in the Fall of 2016 after the merger of North Shore Technical High School and Essex Agricultural & Technical High School, along with several programs from Peabody Vocational School.

The Norm Thompson offices were closed and consolidated due to Bluestem's acquisition of their parent company, Orchard Brands, in July 2015. Founded in 1949 by Norman A. (Norm) Thompson as a mail order business, it grew to annual sales of $200 million before it was sold to Golden Gate Capital Partners in 2006. The company sells clothing, gadgets, furniture, kitchen items, and gift items from its namesake catalog as well as from its Solutions and Sahalie brands. John Difrancesco serves as president and chief executive of the 500 employee company.

The Salem Village Historic District encompasses a collection of properties from the early center of Salem Village, as Danvers, Massachusetts was known in the 17th century. The district includes an irregular pattern of properties along Centre, Hobart, Ingersoll, and Collins Streets, as far north as Brentwood Circle, and south to Mello Parkway. It includes several buildings notable for their association with the 1692 Salem witch trials, which were mostly centered on individuals who lived in Salem Village. Included in the village are the Rebecca Nurse Homestead, now a house museum, and the remains of the local parsonage, both places of relevance to the witch hysteria.The Town of Danvers, Mass., voted at the Annual Town Meeting on March 18, 1974 to establish this area as a local historic district regulated by a Historic District Commission, in order to preserve the historic structures and their architectural features. The district was then listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

North Shore Technical High School was a public application-type high school located in the town of Middleton in the U.S. state of Massachusetts under the North Shore Regional Vocational School District. It served ninth through twelfth grade students from 16 communities all on the North Shore. They included Beverly, Boxford, Danvers, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Lynnfield, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Rockport, Salem, Swampscott, Topsfield, and Wenham. NST was the home to their logo and mascot, the bulldog. On July 1, 2014, North Shore Tech merged with the Essex Agricultural and Technical High School to create Essex Technical High School located in the Hathorne section of Danvers, Massachusetts.

The Prince Osborne House is a historic First Period house in Danvers, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a side-gable roof and clapboard siding. Door and window trim is very simple, and there is a slight overhang of the second floor over the first. The house appears to have been formed out of two separate structures, that were, based on stylistic analysis, joined in about 1720. The left side of the house was probably built sometime between 1690 and 1700, but may be even older. In an unusual twist to this type of joinery, the older portion's chimney was taken down and a new one was apparently built in the framing of the newer section. The interior exhibits primarily later Federal period woodwork, but there are some examples of c. 1720 paneling.The house was moved to its present location in 1915. Its original location was on a farm owned by Robert Prince, who left the property to his wife Sarah in trust for their children. Sarah remarried, to Alexander Osborne, an indentured servant. She died in prison in 1692 while awaiting trial as a witch during the Salem witch hysteria. The Princes and Osbornes fought a legal battle over the estate, complicating the dating of the house. The older portion of the house appears to have been standing by 1696, when mention is made of it in a partial settlement of the dispute.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

St. John's Preparatory School is a grade 6–12 private, Catholic, all-boys college-preparatory school located at 72 Spring Street, Danvers, Massachusetts, United States. It was established in 1907 by the Xaverian Brothers. St. John's was formerly a combination commuter-boarding school but ended its residential program in 1975.
