Zwölferkofel

The Dreischusterspitze (Italian: Punta dei Tre Scarperi) is a mountain of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. It is the highest peak of the Sexten Dolomites and the most northerly 3,000m peak of the range. From the north it resembles a majestic pyramid, while from the east and west it resembles a jagged ridge. The mountain is located above the village of Sexten. It was first climbed in 1869 by Paul Grohmann, Franz Innerkofler and Peter Salcher. Huts in the area are the Dreischusterhütte (Rifugio Tre Scarperi, 1653 m) in the Innerfeldtal as well as the Talschlusshütte (Rifugio al Fondo Valle, 1548 m) in the Fischlein Valley and the Dreizinnenhütte (Rifugio Locatelli, 2405 m) in the south of the Schusterplatte.

The Kreuzbergpass (Italian: Passo Monte Croce di Comelico; German: Kreuzbergpass; Sappada German: Kraizpèrk) (1636 m) is a high mountain pass between the provinces of South Tyrol and Belluno in Italy. It connects the Puster Valley with Cadore. The pass is also the division line between the Dolomites to the west and the Carnic Alps to the northeast.

Lake Misurina (Italian: Lago di Misurina; Cadorino dialect: Lago de Meśorìna) is the largest natural lake of the Cadore and it is 1,754 m above sea level, near Auronzo di Cadore (Belluno). The lake's perimeter is 2.6 km long, while the maximum depth is 5 m. Near the lake there are about ten hotels with accommodation for around 500 people. The particular climatic characteristics of the area around the lake make particularly good air for those who have respiratory diseases. Near the lake is the only center in Italy for the care of childhood asthma. The lake was the theme of a famous song by Claudio Baglioni. Lake Misurina is also the theme of the theatrical representation of the Longane di Lozzo. Lake Misurina is where the speed skating events were held during the 1956 Winter Olympics of Cortina d'Ampezzo – the last time Olympic speed skating events were held on natural ice. Misurina lies on the route of the Dolomites Gold Cup Race.

Marmarole is a mountain group of the Dolomites in Belluno, northern Italy. Located west of the Cadore Valley and north-east of the major peak of Antelao, it is known as a wild range, possibly the wildest of the entire Dolomites, due to the relative difficulty of climbing its peaks and its isolation from nearby valleys. Conversely, it is a popular destination for experienced hikers and alpinists. The highest peak of the Marmarole is the Cimon del Froppa which reaches 2,932 m.

The Hochpustertal (High Puster Valley, Italian: Alta Pusteria) is the easternmost part of the Puster Valley, stretching from the watershed of the Rienz and Drava rivers at Niederdorf in South Tyrol down the Drava to Lienz in East Tyrol, Austria. The area includes the Sexten and Prags side valleys. According to the 1915 London Pact and the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the Italian-Austrian border was drawn between Innichen (San Candido) and Sillian. As the Rienz-Drava watershed near Toblach (called Toblacher Feld or Sella di Dobbiaco) is a rarely notable transition, the natural western boundaries of the Hochpustertal vary. Usually, in the valley the following municipalities are included: Niederdorf, Sexten, Prags, Toblach, and Innichen in South Tyrol, Sillian, Strassen, Abfaltersbach, Assling, and Leisach in East Tyrol.

The Eastern Alps are usually defined as the area east of a line from Lake Constance and the Alpine Rhine valley, up to the Splügen Pass at the Alpine divide, and down the Liro River to Lake Como in the south. The peaks and mountain passes are lower than the Western Alps, while the range itself is broader and less arched.

Innichen Abbey (German: Stift Innichen) is a former Benedictine monastery in Innichen, South Tyrol in northern Italy. Founded in the 8th century, its collegiate church dedicated to Saint Candidus, rebuilt in the 12th–13th centuries, is considered the most important Romanesque building in Tyrol and the Eastern Alps. It is home to a 13th-century sculpture and a fresco cycle from the same age in the dome.

Innichen (German: [ˈɪnɪçn̩] ; Italian: San Candido [saŋ ˈkandido]; Ladin: Sanciana, all tied to Saint Candidus) is a municipality and a village in South Tyrol in northern Italy. It is located in the Puster Valley on the Drava River, on Italy's border with Austria. It hosts Italy’s International Snow Sculpture Festival each year. Innichen is renowned for its ski resorts, and it includes the natural park of Drei Zinnen–Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
