The Bottwar is a river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It passes through Großbottwar and flows into the Murr in Steinheim an der Murr.

Steinheim an der Murr is a town in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated on the river Murr, 9 km northeast of Ludwigsburg. It is known worldwide for the Steinheim skull, the skull of an early human found there in 1933. This human lived around 250,000 years ago. The original skull is kept in the museum of nature in Stuttgart, while in Steinheim, visitors can see two reproductions of the skull in a small museum.

Marbach (Neckar) station serves the town of Marbach in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is the terminus for line S 4 of the Stuttgart S-Bahn and Regionalbahn trains from Backnang. Until 1966, this was the starting point of the Bottwar Valley Railway (Bottwartalbahn), which ran all the way to Heilbronn Süd station.

The Murr (German: [mʊʁ] ) is a river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Neckar. The river gave its name to a small town on its banks, Murr, and to the Rems-Murr-Kreis district, which was also named after the river Rems, which runs roughly parallel to the south of the Murr. Its source is approx. 4 km south of Murrhardt. It flows northeast before turning west to cross Murrhardt. After a further 7 km, Sulzbach an der Murr is reached. Here, at its northernmost point, the Lauter joins from the north, coming from Spiegelberg. The Murr continues southwest, passing Oppenweiler to reach Backnang, where its narrow valley widens. Further towns on its way are Burgstall an der Murr, Kirchberg an der Murr, Steinheim an der Murr, and the community of Murr itself, which is located in the district of Ludwigsburg. North of Marbach am Neckar, the Murr joins the Neckar after having travelled about 50 km in total. The Murr runs south of the Löwenstein Hills. A large part of the river is situated in the Swabian-Franconian Forest, after which the eponymous nature park was named.

Großbottwar (or Grossbottwar) is a town in the Ludwigsburg district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It sits within the Neckar River basin and is located on a tourist route through the Württemberg wine region. The Großbottwar region has been inhabited since at least the Stone Age and was occupied by the Romans. The town itself was founded sometime during the mid-13th century by an alliance of prominent families. In 1971, Großbottwar incorporated the formerly independent communities of Hof und Lembach and Winzerhausen.Unlike most towns in the region, Großbottwar was neither heavily damaged by war nor by urban fires, so there are many old buildings from the 15th through the 17th centuries with original and well-preserved timber framing. The 16th century Rathaus, or town hall, is noted for its half-timber construction and decoratively carved façade. The Stadtschänke, approximately dated to 1434, is the oldest half-timber building in the Ludwigsburg district.

The Museum of Modern Literature (German: Literaturmuseum der Moderne, LiMo) is part of the German Literature Archive (Deutsches Literaturarchiv) in Marbach am Neckar, Germany. The museum won its architect the Stirling Prize in 2007. Designed by British architect David Chipperfield and constructed at a cost of €10 million by Leonard Weiss GmbH, with engineering by Ingenieurgruppe Bauen, the museum opened in September 2006. It stands on a rock plateau in Marbach's scenic park, overlooking the valley of the Neckar River. It displays and archives 20th-century literature. Notable original manuscripts include The Trial by Franz Kafka and Berlin Alexanderplatz by Alfred Döblin.

The Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach (DLA – German Literature Archive), established in 1955, in Marbach am Neckar, is one of the most significant literary archives in the world. Its collections span literary and intellectual history from 1750 to the present and are open to everyone who is conducting source criticism. The DLA offers nearly 800,000 volumes and over 1,000 journals.

Benningen am Neckar is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

Marbach am Neckar is a town about 20 kilometres north of Stuttgart. It belongs to the district of Ludwigsburg, the Stuttgart region and the European metropolitan region of Stuttgart. Marbach is known as the birthplace of Friedrich Schiller, to whom it owes the additional designation of Schiller City, which it has officially held since 2022.[2] The town is home to the Schiller National Museum, the German Literature Archive and the Modern Literature Museum.
