Agara is an upcoming elevated metro station on the North-South corridor of the Blue Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. Around this metro station holds the main Agara, a major suburban area which was operated by the Madras Engineer Groups and was one of the biggest army cantonments during the British Times. This metro station is adjacent to its neighbouring localities like HSR Layout, Koramangala, Outer Ring Road and Varthur. This metro station is slated to become operational around June 2026.

Srinivagalu is a sub-locality in Koramangala, Bengaluru. It houses two inscriptions, one a Kannada Herostone inscription that is very significant as it mentions the old name of Srinivagilu as Siyanelvagila and an other Tamil Inscription. Srinivagilu has a recorded history dating back to at least the 9th century CE. Both the inscriptions are located in the vicinity of a Shiva temple in the Ibbalur Military Camp. As this is a defence land, entry is restricted to general public.

Bellandur Lake is a lake in the suburb of Bellandur in the southeast of the city of Bengaluru and is the largest lake in the city. It was used for landing amphibious aircraft during British rule. It is a part of Bellandur drainage system that drains the southern and the south-eastern parts of the city. The lake is a receptor from three chains of lakes upstream, and has a catchment area of about 148 square kilometres (37,000 acres). Water from this lake flows further east to the Varthur Lake, from where it flows down the plateau and eventually into the Pinakani river basin.It is currently highly polluted with sewage, and in May 2015 the foam covering the water surface caught fire and burned for hours making international headlines. The lake has since caught fire multiple times including in January 2018, and March 2021.

HSR Layout (Hosur-Sarjapur Road Layout) is a suburb of south-east Bangalore, India. It lies in the Bommanahalli constituency of State assembly. This locality was developed by Bangalore Development Authority in 1985. Now it has emerged into a leading residential area due to its proximity to IT Parks in Bangalore. It is also a gateway to Electronic City, a major IT hub of the city. HSR Layout has emerged as a posh locality of Bangalore with wide streets, parks and modern civic amenities. HSR Layout is divided into Sectors 1–7, which are crisscrossed into main and cross roads. Main roads run north–south and Cross roads run east–west. Some parts of the neighbouring towns such as Agara, Parangipalya, Venkatapura, Mangammanapalya and Hosapalya are also part of HSR Layout. It is designed based on modern town planning principles, the layout has a centralized BDA Complex, which houses the city administrative offices. It also has a number of small parks in various parts of the layout. Several educational institutions have also spring up in the area, such as JSS Public School (established in 2004), Oxford College (founded in 1974) and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) along with Networkers Home.

Indian Airlines Flight 605 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Bombay to Bangalore. On 14 February 1990, an Airbus A320-231 registered as VT-EPN, crashed onto a golf course while attempting to land at Bangalore, killing 92 of 146 people on board.The Indian investigative team ruled that the probable cause was the pilots selecting the "Open descent/flight idle" control mode rather than "Glideslope capture", allowing the aircraft to sink far below the correct flight path. They further failed to advance the throttles or pull up even after the radio altitude call-outs, as the aircraft approached landing. The report stated that the crew of Flight 605 weren’t aware of the situation and the danger they were facing at the time, resulting in delayed reaction during the descent.After the crash, the Indian investigation committee issued 62 recommendations to the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), including a time recording on the air traffic control (ATC) tapes and the formation of several investigative committees specializing in several aviation operational issues. Included in the recommendation was the addition of a crash siren in Bangalore, evaluation of the evacuation doors and slides in Airbus airplanes, and a design change on their instrument knob. The report also urged the government to evaluate every airport in India to prevent similar incidents from occurring.The crash drew criticism among the Indian Commercial Pilot Association (ICPA) which claimed that the Airbus A320 had severe flaws. They claimed that the aircraft's systems were too confusing and that the crew of Flight 605 was struggling to avert the crash.Another A320 accident less than two years later (which occurred under similar circumstances) led to design improvements to the flight control unit and numerous safety recommendations.
