España station

The Legarda Elementary School is a public elementary school located in Sampaloc in the City of Manila. Built in 1922, the school is notable for its main school building that has managed to retain its pre-war architecture, making its building the oldest surviving campus in Manila.

Dominican School Manila, founded in 1958, is a private Catholic basic education institution run by the Congregation of the Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. The school is located near the University of Santo Tomas. DSM is also one of the schools, colleges and universities that opened its door to the Senior High School enrollees in 2016. These students were assisted by the Voucher Program of the Department of Education and the Fund for Assistance to Private Education (FAPE). The school was founded in June 1958 by the Mission Siaters in response to the need to provide Catholic education to the children who live in the vicinity of UST. More equipment and materials were procured for the use of the pupils and the staff. Academic programs were evaluated and revised. Assignments and teaching loads were also examined to find out whether the pupils were receiving the best instruction. In School Year 2006-2007, DSM started classes for the secondary education classes in the newly constructed seven-story building. In June 2010, DSM made the decision to adapt the Alternative Learning System Program to assist out-of-school youths who desire to finish Basic Education. Now the campus is closed due to the pandemic, and its students instead learn through SCHOOLOGY for grade school students, ARALINKS for high school students, a website to continue their education.

Holy Trinity Academy (HTA), also referred to as the Most Holy Trinity Academy,: 4  or colloquially as Holy, is a private parochial co-educational school in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. The school was established in June 1947 by Rev. Fr. Bernardo Torres. The school accepted both male and female students, but in separate departments, until it became fully co-educational in 1976. The school currently maintains a Level 2 accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) since its approval in December 2015. The school is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila Educational System (RCAMES), an educational system and a group of catholic and parochial schools governed by Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, where the school is under the fourth cluster, headed by the school's director, Rev. Fr. Marion C. Munda. Holy Trinity Academy offers the K–12 curriculum program. In the Senior High School Department, the school offers five academic tracks, which prepares students for college and their chosen undergraduate program. In the school year 2019–2020, the school served a population of around 3,000 enrollees annually in its preparatory, elementary, and high school departments.Some of the HTA alumni have been recognized for their works in arts, media, filmmaking, and science, including, Lexi Gonzales, Mon Gualvez, and Kyxz Mendiola.

Laon Laan station (also called Dapitan station) is a railway station located on the South Main Line in the city of Manila, Philippines. The station is the third station from Tutuban. The station is currently being transferred west of Laon Laan due to the construction of the NLEX Connector Road beside the westbound railtracks, with a steel platform being prepared as its temporary replacement.

The Quadricentennial Pavilion (originally UST Sports Complex) is a 5,792-seat multi-purpose gymnasium of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) located at the site of the former old Engineering Complex and adjacent football field in front of the Roque Ruaño Building. The Quadricentennial Pavilion is one of the building construction projects of the university for its celebration of 400th year of foundation in 2011. The new sports complex replaced the old UST Gymnasium which was built in 1933.

Lacson Avenue is the principal northwest–southeast artery located in Sampaloc district in northern Manila, Philippines. It is a 6-8 lane median divided avenue that runs approximately 2.9 kilometers (1.8 mi) from Tayuman Street in Santa Cruz to Nagtahan Interchange. It is a component of Circumferential Road 2 of the Manila arterial road network and N140 of the Philippine highway network.

The Metro Manila leg of the PiliPinas Debates 2016 is the first vice presidential televised debate of the 2016 Philippine elections and the only VP debate under the PiliPinas Debates series, held at the Quadricentennial Pavilion at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila on April 10, 2016. It was organized by COMELEC and KBP with CNN Philippines, and Business Mirror as media partners. The debate was moderated by CNN Philippines chief correspondent Pia Hontiveros and senior anchor Pinky Webb. The coverage also included a pre-debate show and post-debate analysis anchored by Amelyn Veloso with panelists Atty. España Boulevard is an eight–lane major thoroughfare in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, named after Spain, the country that formerly held the Philippines as an overseas territory. True to its name, several Spanish names abound the street. It starts at the Welcome Rotonda near the boundary of Quezon City and Manila and ends with a Y-intersection with Lerma and Nicanor Reyes Streets in Manila.

Blumentritt Road is a major road in Manila, Philippines. It runs through the border of the City of Manila with Quezon City from Rizal Avenue in Santa Cruz district to G. Tuazon Street in Sampaloc district. The road also forms the southern boundary of the Manila North Cemetery. It is named after Bohemian professor and filipinologist, Ferdinand Blumentritt. The portion of the road from Rizal Avenue to Dimasalang Street in Santa Cruz was originally named Calle Sangleyes (Spanish for "Chinese merchants street") in reference to its original residents. It passes through the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center and the Manila North Green Park before turning southeast in Sampaloc. The road intersects with Dimasalang Street, A. Bonifacio Avenue, N.S. Amoranto Sr. Avenue, Laon Laan Road, and España Boulevard before terminating at G. Tuazon Street in Sampaloc, near its boundary with San Isidro (Galas), Quezon City. It is served by the Blumentritt LRT station and Blumentritt PNR station at Rizal Avenue. The section of the road between Rizal Avenue and A. Bonifacio Avenue is a component of National Route 160 (N160), while the section between A. Bonifacio Avenue and España Boulevard is designated as National Route 161 (N161); both routes are of the Philippine highway network. Its remaining section, considered as its extension, up to G. Tuazon Street is unnumbered. A major flood control project in this road was completed in June 2016.
