Cardinia is a town in Victoria, Australia, 52 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Cardinia local government area. Cardinia recorded a population of 342 at the 2021 census.Cardinia is located between Pakenham and Tooradin on the south-eastern fringe of Melbourne. The Post Office opened on 1 September 1881, was known as Cardinia Creek until 1912, and closed in 1970.Cardinia is part of the Australian Rules ROC Football Club (Rythdale, Officer, Cardinia) competing in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.

The Cardinia Motor Recreation and Education Park is a planned motorsport and driver education facility at Pakenham, an outer southeastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was proposed to have a 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) race track built to FIA Grade 2 standard, along with other facilities. It received approval from the Cardinia Shire Council in December 2019 and was expected to start construction within six months. The site was previously the home of both the Koo Wee Rup Motor Cycle Club and the Pakenham Auto Club. The proposal had been in planning since 2013, with a view to reducing hoon driving in the area.Other facilities in the complex are proposed to include a skid pan, go-kart track and clay pigeon shooting range. Earlier plans also included a dragstrip. It is also expected to have a hotel with views over the circuit.

Pakenham South is a suburb and rural locality in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 59 km (37 mi) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Cardinia local government area. Pakenham South recorded a population of 229 at the 2021 census.

Koo Wee Rup is a town and satellite suburb in Victoria, Australia, 63 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Cardinia local government area. Built on former marshland now converted to market gardens, Koo Wee Rup recorded a population of 4,047 at the 2021 census. Prior to December 1994 the suburb was part of the Shire of Cranbourne. The post office opened on 7 January 1891. In the early 1950s many Dutch and Italian families settled in the area. Prior to European settlement the area was occupied by the Bunurong Aboriginal people. It is from their language that the town's name derives. Ku-wirup is believed to mean "plenty of blackfish" or "blackfish swimming". Koo Wee Rup is Australia's largest asparagus-growing district. It is also a beef-farming and potato-growing area. The town was previously well known for its potato festival, which was held each March to raise funds for the Westernport Memorial Hospital (now Kooweerup Regional Health Service). Schools include Koo Wee Rup Primary School, St John the Baptist Primary School and Koo Wee Rup Secondary College. The town has an Australian rules football team competing in the West Gippsland Football League.

Koo Wee Rup was a railway station on the South Gippsland line in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The station operated until the closure of the line between Cranbourne Station and Leongatha Station in July 1993. The station remains partly intact with the platform and goods shed (now privately owned) intact, however the track one kilometre on each side of the station platform has been dismantled, and replaced by a concrete pathway for bicycles and recreational use. Koo Wee Rup was also the junction of the branch line to Strzelecki. The establishment of the pathway has effectively removed any likelihood that the railway will be rehabilitated. It can also be seen as being the start of a rail trail on the railway reserve, stretching back to Cranbourne, which will block future rail transport options for people in Cranbourne East, Clyde, and surrounding areas.

Pakenham railway station is a commuter and regional railway station on the Pakenham line, with V/Line services to Traralgon and Bairnsdale, serving the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Pakenham in Victoria, Australia. Pakenham is an elevated premium station, featuring an island platform with two faces. It opened on 8 October 1877, with the current station provided in 2024. Stabling facilities were located on the south side of the station, until their removal in 2022.

Pakenham Secondary College is situated approximately 50 kilometres southeast of Melbourne, Australia. Established in 1968 to provide education to a largely rural community, the school now enrols over 750 students from an urban community. It is currently undergoing a six-stage development project, which has seen the building of a new $3.5 million VCE student complex. The school population is expected to peak at 1800.

East Pakenham railway station is a commuter railway station and the terminus of the Pakenham line, serving the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Pakenham East in Victoria, Australia. East Pakenham is a ground-level premium station, featuring an island platform with two faces, and bypass tracks for V/Line regional services. It opened on 3 June 2024. East Pakenham station was constructed alongside a rebuilt Pakenham station, as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project. Until mid-2023, the state government referred to the station as Pakenham East railway station. The name "East Pakenham" was confirmed in a new rail network map published in May 2023 by Public Transport Victoria. It was named "East Pakenham" station so it would not be confused with the nearby Pakenham East rail depot.
