Jardins du Château Val Joanis

Château Val Joanis is a winery located in the Vaucluse Department of France, in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, just west of the town of Pertuis. The wines it produces are classified AOC Côtes du Luberon. The gardens of the winery are listed by the Committee of Parks and Gardens of the French Ministry of Culture as one of the Remarkable Gardens of France.

The Canal de Marseille is a major source of drinking water for all of Marseille, the largest city in Provence, France. The canal along its main artery is 80 kilometres (50 mi) long but has additional 160 kilometres (99 mi) of minor arteries. Its construction lasted 15 years and was directed by the engineer Franz Mayor de Montricher; the canal opened on July 8, 1849.The canal was a significant achievement of 18th-century engineering, combining bridges, tunnels and reservoirs over mountainous terrain. Until 1970, it was almost the sole water source for Marseille, and it still provides two thirds of the city's drinking water.

Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade (French pronunciation: [lə pɥi sɛ̃t ʁepaʁad]; Occitan: Lo Pueg de Santa Reparada) or simply Le Puy is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southern France. It is located on the departmental border with Vaucluse, neighbouring Aix-en-Provence to the south and Pertuis to the northeast. It is part of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis.

Étang de la Bonde is a lake in Vaucluse, France. Its surface area is 0.3 km². The lake is shared by the communes of Cabrières-d'Aigues and La Motte-d'Aigues.

The Pavillon de Galon was built at the end of the 18th century as a hunting lodge. It is located in Cucuron, in Vaucluse, on the south side of the Luberon mountain range of southern France. Its 5 hectare garden, which contains a modern French formal garden created in 2004, was awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label by the French Ministry of Culture & Environment in 2010. Such a label is awarded for 5 years and requires the garden to be open to the public at least 40 days per year.

Cucuron (French pronunciation: [kykyʁɔ̃]) is a village (commune) in the Vaucluse department, of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in southeastern France. Its inhabitants are called Cucuronnais. Located on the south side of the Luberon mountain range, Cucuron is surrounded by slopes of grapevines and olive trees. There are several cooperatives in the village, including for wine and olive oil production. The present village dates from earlier than the 11th century and suffered a serious plague epidemic in 1720. Its primary features are a long pond (l'étang) that occupies its main square, the ruins of a medieval keep, and two churches. Cucuron features in two movies: A Good Year and The Horseman on the Roof (French: Le hussard sur le toit).

The 1909 Provence earthquake occurred on June 11 in Provence. Measuring 6.2 on the surface wave magnitude scale, it is the largest ever recorded earthquake in metropolitan France.A total of 46 people died, another 250 were injured, and approximately 2,000 buildings were damaged. The most damaged communes were Salon-de-Provence, Vernègues, Lambesc, Saint-Cannat and Rognes. Fourteen people died in Rognes, which was half destroyed, especially the houses on the flanks of the hill Le Foussa. People were relocated under tents on another hill (Le Devin) and near the primary school. The main shock occurred at 9:15pm. If the earthquake had happened an hour later, more people would have been in bed, and more casualties would have been recorded.The Vernègues castle and most of the houses in Vernègues were destroyed. Two people died in the village, which was later rebuilt at a lower altitude.
