Hotel Adelaide

The Hotel Kempsford is a historic apartment house at 72 Walnut Street in Brookline, Massachusetts. The four story brick building was designed by Brookline architect Obed Smith and built in 1875 for Eben Wright, a real estate developer who also built the nearby Hotel Adelaide. This building is a high-quality local example of Victorian Gothic architecture in brick. The apartment units inside are also in a distinctive two-story plan, one of the earliest examples of the type.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The New England Institute of Art (NEiA) was a private for-profit art school in Brookline, Massachusetts. The school was founded in 1952 as the Norm Prescott School of Broadcasting and was one of the 45 Art Institutes in North America. The school offered ten majors in art fields taught by professionals of those industries. Most recently, the institution offered nine Bachelor of Science degrees and three Associate in Science. It was accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It ceased enrolling new students in 2015 and closed in 2017.

Brookline Village station is a light rail station on the MBTA Green Line D branch, located in the Brookline Village neighborhood of Brookline, Massachusetts, United States. It was originally a commuter rail station on the Boston and Albany Railroad's Highland branch; it closed with the rest of the line in 1958 and reopened on July 4, 1959 as a light rail station. With 3,230 daily boardings, it is the third-busiest surface station on the D branch and the sixth-busiest surface station overall. Brookline Village station has raised platforms for accessibility with low-floor light rail vehicles.

The Building at 30–34 Station Street in Brookline, Massachusetts, is a historic mixed-use residential/commercial building. It was designed by architects Winslow & Wetherell with elements of Colonial Revival and Georgian Revival style, and was completed in 1893. It is one of the first examples in Brookline of a mixed-use building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Puppet Showplace Theater is a nonprofit puppet theater in Brookline, Massachusetts. The organization was founded in June 1974 by Mary Churchill. Since 1981, it has been located at 32 Station Street. The theater presents performances by local and traveling professional puppet companies.Puppet Showplace Theater houses one performance space, a proscenium with a "comfortable capacity" of 80 adults. Each year, it presents over 300 performances at its home in Brookline. The theater also presents touring productions performed in schools, libraries, and cultural centers throughout the Northeastern United States.

The Dr. Tappan Eustis Francis House is a historic house at 35 Davis Avenue in Brookline, Massachusetts. Built in 1877–78, the 2+1⁄2-story house is a well-preserved rendering of Queen Anne styling in brick. Its roof has varying patterns of slate tiles, and the facade has a variety of brickwork decorations. Its chimneys feature Panel brick design elements, and it has a Stick style porch. The house was built for a doctor who served the town for 50 years. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Brookline borders six of Boston's neighborhoods: Brighton, Allston, Fenway–Kenmore, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury. The city of Newton lies to the west of Brookline. Brookline was first settled in 1638 as a hamlet in Boston, known as Muddy River; it was incorporated as a separate town in 1705. At the time of the 2020 census, the population of the town was 63,191. It has been the most populous municipality in Massachusetts to have a town (rather than city) form of government since Framingham changed to a city in 2018, following a 2017 referendum.
