Ringerike, Asker og Bærum District Court (Norwegian: Ringerike, Asker og Bærum tingrett) is a district court located in Viken county, Norway. This court is based at two different courthouses which are located in Hønefoss and Sandvika. The court serves central part of the county, just west of Oslo. This court has jurisdiction across six municipalities. The court in Hønefoss accepts cases from the municipalities of Hole, Jevnaker, Lunner, and Ringerike. The court in Sandvika accepts cases from the municipalities of Asker and Bærum. The court is subordinate to the Borgarting Court of Appeal.The court is led by a chief judge (sorenskriver) and several other judges. The court is a court of first instance. Its judicial duties are mainly to settle criminal cases and to resolve civil litigation as well as bankruptcy. The administration and registration tasks of the court include death registration, issuing certain certificates, performing duties of a notary public, and officiating civil wedding ceremonies. Cases from this court are heard by a combination of professional judges and lay judges.

Homewood is a property in Sandvika, Bærum, Norway. It is known historically as the home of Otto Sverdrup, and has been municipal-owned since 1962.

Sandvika Station (Norwegian: Sandvika stasjon) is a railway station located at Sandvika in Bærum, Norway. Situated on the Drammen Line, 14.14 kilometers (8.79 mi) from Oslo S, it also an intermediate station of the Asker Line. Vy serves the station with local and regional, with about 7,000 passengers using the station daily. It is also served by the Airport Express Train and serves as the main bus terminal for the town. The station is elevated and has two island platforms and four tracks. The station opened along with the Drammen Line on 7 October 1872, until 1922 being named Sandviken. The original station building was designed by Georg Andreas Bull in Swiss chalet style. The station underwent a renewal from 1917 to 1922, receiving gauge conversion to standard gauge, electrification. A new station building designed by Gudmund Hoel opened in 1919. The tracks east of the station were doubled in 1922, the line westwards in 1958. A new, four-track station building opened in 1994, designed by Arne Henriksen. The Asker Line opened in two stages, in 2005 and 2011.

Kadettangen is a small peninsula outside of Sandvika in Bærum, Norway. Originally named Sandvikstangen, it got its current name from the cadet training conducted by the Norwegian Military Academy for the better part of the nineteenth century. The peninsula is now used mainly for boating, beach life and sports, being the home ground of association football club Bærum SK.

Sandvikselva, formerly known as Løxa, is a river in Bærum, Norway, originating at the intersection of the two rivers Lomma and Isielva at Wøyen. The river flows into the Oslo Fjord 4.5 km south at Sandvika, though the center of the city, where it is crossed by the historic Løkke Bridge, the first cast iron bridge in Norway. At the mouth there are three bridges over the river. There were formerly water mills for industry along the line, including at Franzefoss for Franzefoss Bruk. The river regularly floods, and landslides have occurred. There is a measuring station for water levels and pollution at Bjøregårdsvingen. Sandvikselva is the premier trout river of the Oslo Fjord, and a community of dedicated volunteers invest much time and energy to preserve the conditions for the fish to be able to travel up the river to spawn each autumn.

The Løkkeås Tunnel (Norwegian: Løkkeåstunnelen) is a road tunnel that runs under Løkkeåsen in Sandvika, Norway. It is a part of a Norwegian National Road 164 spur running from Engervannet north to join the main road. It is approximately 190 metres long.

Danmark (English: Denmark) is an islet located near Sandvika in the Municipality of Bærum, Norway. While the original meaning is not exactly verified, the name of the islet reflects Norwegians' (friendly) joking about the relatively small geographical size of Denmark proper. Like Denmark, this islet is flat, small, and located overseas south of Bærum. The name predates 1814, when the personal union known as Denmark–Norway was dissolved. In a sale of land in the 1780s, it was mentioned that the sale included 'a little island called Denmark' (Danish: en lille ø kaldet Danmark).

Skytterdalen is a small, populated valley north of Sandvika in Bærum, Norway.

The Ringerike Line (Norwegian: Ringeriksbanen or Ringeriksbana) is a proposed 40-kilometre (25 mi) extension of the Bergen Line from Jong, Sandvika to Hønefoss, Norway. In 2022, the project was postponed; the government has no commitment to any timeframe (as of Q4 2022).The proposed line would reduce travel from Oslo to Bergen by 60 kilometres (37 mi) and 50 minutes. Currently trains from the Bergen Line to Oslo must run via Drammen on the Randsfjord Line and the Drammen Line, or via Roa on the Roa–Hønefoss Line and the Gjøvik Line.The project was presented as part of the original proposal of the Bergen Line when approved by Parliament in 1894, but due to the narrow gauge on the Drammen Line at the time, a temporary solution via Roa was chosen instead. Later proposals have been launched, and parliament has voted over it in 1954, 1978, 1984 and 1992; only the last being passed, but not followed up by funding, and Bane NOR has not allocated any date to start construction; detailed plans have however been produced.

Kjørbo is a former manor in Bærum, Norway. It is located slightly south of the city of Sandvika, near the outlet of the river Sandvikselva, at the opposite shore of Kadettangen. Originally a home farm under Nesøya manor, in 1630 it was made into a manor of its own and resident site of Nesøygodset. After a long series of private owners, the whole property was sold to Norconsult-gruppen, a group of consulting firms operating in the international market which established its Norwegian headquarters on the venerable grounds. The futuristic offices premises were built for Norconsult-gruppen and Norconsult International and inaugurated in 1981. The company Saga Petroleum Eiendom acquired the property in 1990 and Norsk Hydro in 1999. From June 2009 the local police will be accommodated in new localities at Kjørbo.

Engervannet is a lake between Blommenholm and Sandvika in the municipality of Bærum in Akershus county, Norway.

Sandvika Storsenter is a super-regional mall located in Sandvika outside of Oslo, Norway. It is owned by the Olav Thon Group (Olav Thon Gruppen) which in turn is owned by the Olav Thon Foundation (Olav Thon Stiftelsen).The mall opened October 14, 1993, and was then 24,000 square metres. It was expanded in 1997, making it the largest shopping mall in Norway at the time. Today, after one main extension in 2007, the mall is 60,000 square metres. For a good while it had 190 stores; today that number has increased to 197.Sandvika Storsenter is visited by an average of more than 25,000 customers every day, 150,000 per week and 8 million a year. The highest registered turnover and visitors for a single day, December 21, 2009, was NOK 33.95 million and 57,859 visitors. That same year, week 51 had a turnover of NOK 190.9 million and 306,000 visitors. The mall's revenue in 2013 was NOK 3.18 billion. As of 2011, some of the largest and most prominent stores included Ultra, Hennes & Mauritz, Clas Ohlson, Elixia, Lefdal, XXL, Norli, Bolia and Barnas Hus.
