The Newton Street Railway Carbarn is an historic building located at 1121 Washington Street in the village of West Newton in Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1890 by the Newton Street Railway Company, it is a rare surviving example of a wood-frame trolley car garage facility, a facility once common in areas served by electrified trolleys. The building has a long two-story central section with extended single-story wings. It has been extensively remodeled and modernized and is now a commercial building with a restaurant, grocery store, and offices.On September 4, 1986, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Peirce School (also known as Old Peirce School) is a historic school building at 88 Chestnut Street, corner of Austin Street, in West Newton, Massachusetts. The brick building was built in 1895 and operated by the Newton Public Schools as an elementary school from 1895 until June 1951. It originally served grades one through eight, but at the time of its closing, it was a kindergarten through sixth grade (K–6) school. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 6, 1979.

The Seth Davis House is a historic house located at 32 Eden Avenue in Newton, Massachusetts.

The Railroad Hotel (Seth Davis Tavern) is a building that served as an historic hotel at the triangular lot where Washington Street joins Watertown Street (Route 16) in the West Newton section of Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1831, it is the only early building still standing in West Newton's village center. The Railroad Hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributing property to the West Newton Village Center Historic District.

The House at 15 Davis Avenue in Newton, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved modest Italianate house. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, whose features include paired brackets in the eaves, bracketed lintels above the doors and windows, and paneled corner pilaster strips. The main entrance is flanked by sidelight windows and topped by a transom. Likely built in the 1850s, this was probably one of the first houses built when Seth Davis (whose house stands on Eden Avenue) began to sell off some of his landholdings.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The House at 3 Davis Avenue in West Newton, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved modest Italianate residence. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house, three bays wide, with a front-facing gable roof. It was built c. 1853, and has an unusual amount of decorative trim for a modest house. The eaves and gables are studded with brackets, and the corners have quoining blocks. The front parlor windows, sheltered by a porch also studded with brackets, are of extended length.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Second Church in Newton, United Church of Christ, is located at 60 Highland Street in West Newton, a village of Newton, Massachusetts. This church is rooted in the Congregational denomination, welcomes all visitors, and does not require uniformity of belief. Its present church building, a Gothic Victorian structure designed by architects Allen & Collens and completed in 1916, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places (as "Second Church of Newton") in 1990.

The William F. Kessler House is a historic house at 211 Highland Street in Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1913, the 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame house is a fine example of rustic Craftsman styling. The front roof slopes down to form a porch, which is supported by brick and fieldstone piers. The roofline is pierced by a multi-section dormer with varying window size, shapes, and roof lines. The house was built as infill in an already-developed part of West Newton Hill by Frank Kneeland, a local builder. William Kessler was a salesman.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Galen Merriam House is a historic house at 102 Highland Street in Newton, Massachusetts. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in the 1840s, apparently for Galen Merriam, a Boston coal merchant. The mansion house features elaborate Italianate styling, including brackets in its eaves and on its porch, which wraps around three sides of the house. It also has peaked windows in its gable ends, in a more Gothic Revival style.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Samuel Wheat House is a historic house at 399 Waltham Street in Newton, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story timber-frame house, five bays wide, with a gambrel roof and clapboard siding. The front entrance is flanked by pilasters and topped by a gabled pediment. The house was built c. 1735, probably for Dr. Samuel Wheat, Jr, and is one of the oldest houses in the city. It was probably built with the gambrel roof, but the dormers are a 19th-century addition.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Charles D. Elliott House is a historic house at 7 Colman Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was probably built in the 1860s, and is one of Newton's finest Second Empire houses. It has a mansard roof pierced by dormers with rounded or triangular gabled pediments. Its main facade has a slightly projecting central section, which includes an elaborately decorated porch that projects further forward and extends the full width of the front. Charles D. Elliott was part owner of a local coal and lumber yard.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
