John Harbach House

The Frank H. Stewart House is a historic house at 41 Montvale Road in Newton, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story stucco-clad house was built in 1909 for Frank H. Stewart, a lawyer. It is located in an Olmsted-designed subdivision, and is one Newton's finest large Classical Revival houses. It has a green tile hipped roof with exposed rafter ends, pierced by three hip-roofed dormers. The main facade has a front porch that merges into two flanking single-story projecting bays, all also topped by a green tile roof. There are flanking side sections fronted by porches.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Commonwealth Avenue Historic District of Newton, Massachusetts, encompasses roughly the eastern half of Commonwealth Avenue, extending from Waban Hill Road, near the city line with Boston, westward to Walnut Street. The roadway was laid out in 1894 and completed in 1895. Its design was influenced in part by the local residents, who were willing to give land for some of the route, and the design of Boston portions of the road, in which Frederick Law Olmsted was involved. Construction of the roadway was followed by the construction of fashionably large residences along its route, which took place mostly between the road's construction and about 1920. The district includes 188 residential properties, which are mainly built in the revival styles popular in the early 20th century. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Adams Claflin House is a historic house at 156 Grant Avenue in the village of Newton Centre in Newton, Massachusetts. It is a large 2+1⁄2-story cross-gable wood-frame structure, built in the Shingle style to a design by Samuel Brown for Adams Davenport Claflin. Claflin was the son of Massachusetts Governor and Newtonville resident William Claflin, and was a major landowner in Newtonville as well as president of the Boston and Suburban Electric Company. Claflin was a major developer of the streetcar system that served Newton. Architecturally, the house shows vestiges of the Queen Anne style, with its asymmetrical massing and wealth of projections and gables, as well as elements of the Colonial Revival, exemplified by a Palladian window, and by the pedimented front porch. The house is one of several designed by Brown for the Claflin family.On September 4, 1986, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The John Ward House at 184 Ward Street in Newton, Massachusetts is a Federal style house. It was deemed eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, but its owner objected to the listing.: 127 The house is a circa 1805 house built in Federal style on a 18,752-square-foot (1,742.1 m2) lot.: 4 The house has a square plan with five bays on each side. The house at 173–175 Ward Street in Newton, Massachusetts is one of the city's few federal style houses. Built c. 1800, it is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with clapboard siding and twin rear wall chimneys. The house has a five-bay facade with windows framed by narrow moulding. The main entrance is flanked by paired pilasters surrounding sidelight windows, topped by an entablature. The house was built by Charles Hyde and was involved in property disputes attending the construction of tunnels in the area in the mid-19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Amos Adams House is a historic house in the Newton Corner village of Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1888, it is a prominent local example of Queen Anne architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 4, 1986.

East Parish Burying Ground, also known as Centre Street Burying Ground or Centre Street Cemetery, is an historic cemetery located at Centre and Cotton streets in the village of Newton Corner in the city of Newton, Massachusetts. On December 23, 1983, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has been called the "most important, the most evocative and also the most fragile historic site in the city."

The Nichols House is a historic house in Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1897, this 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house is one of the city's finest examples of Stick style architecture. It features numerous steeply-pitched gables typical of the style, some of which are elaborately decorated with applied wood trim. The main entry is sheltered within a decorated porte cochere. J. Howard Nichols, the owner, was a wealthy merchant in the China trade.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Monadnock Road Historic District is a residential historic district encompassing a cohesive subdivision of a former estate in the 1920s in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton, Massachusetts. The development was typical of Newton's explosive residential growth at that time, and includes primarily Tudor Revival houses. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Frank B. Hopewell House is a historic house at 301 Waverley Avenue in Newton, Massachusetts. The large 2+1⁄2-story brick building was designed by Boston architect George H Sidebottom and built in 1919. It is the most intact and best preserved of several large early 20th century Colonial Revival estate houses in the city. Frank Hopewell, for whom it was built, worked for a manufacturing sales firm, and was treasurer and director of the Sanford Mills.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
