Banstead

Priory Preparatory School was a preparatory school in Banstead, Surrey, England, for boys aged two to thirteen years, which was closed in 2017. The school was a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) and of the Independent Schools Council (ISC). It was founded in 1921, and was a charitable trust. Upon closure in 2017, pupils moved to the new Banstead Preparatory School at the site formerly occupied by Greenacre School for Girls. The school's buildings at the old site on Bolters Lane, including the historic mansion known as the Red House were demolished in January 2021 to make way for the development of retirement apartments.

The Recreation Ground is a cricket ground in Banstead, Surrey. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1955, when South Women Second XI played the Women's Cricket Association. It hosted its only first-class match in 1984, when Surrey played Cambridge University.Additionally, between 1983 and 2006, the ground played host to a number of Surrey Second XI matches in the Second XI Championship and Second XI Trophy, hosting a combined total of 20 Second XI matches.The ground has also hosted 2 Women's One Day International's. The first came in 1986 and was played between England women and India women. The second was played between England women and Denmark women in 1993 Women's Cricket World Cup.In local domestic cricket, the Recreation Ground is the home venue of Banstead Cricket Club who play in the Surrey Premier League. The original pavilion was constructed in the 1890s and still stands to this day, although a new pavilion was built in the 1970s.

Banstead railway station serves the village of Banstead in the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey. Its wider definition of Banstead Village and Nork wards is relevant here as both are equally well served by it as it lies narrowly in the latter. The station and all trains are operated by Southern and it is on the Epsom Downs line, part of the Sutton & Mole Valley Line services. It is between Belmont and Epsom Downs, 17 miles 40 chains (17.50 miles, 28.16 km) down the line from London Bridge, measured via West Croydon.Housing and gardens in Banstead in this area border Greater London 500m away to the north. Accordingly, since January 2006, the station has been included in Travelcard Zone 6. The station lies some distance to the north-west of the High Street on the edge of Banstead Downs.

Greenacre School for Girls was an independent girls' school, founded in 1933, in Banstead, Surrey, England, which closed in 2017.It was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and was a member of the Girls' Schools Association. The governors of the school turned it over to United Learning in 2015.It closed in 2017, at the end of the academic year. The site is now used for the new independent and co-educational Banstead Preparatory School, which opened in September 2017 with the merger of Greenacre School for Girls, Priory School, and Bramley School in Banstead, Surrey. The new school is on the former Greenacre site, for pupils aged from 2 to 11. Pupils in Greenacre Junior School will transferred to the new school, and pupils in the Senior School were guaranteed places at other local schools. Banstead Preparatory School is run by United Learning.

The Beacon School, previously Nork Park School, is a mixed academy school in Banstead, Surrey. The school's values are excellence and respect. The school is a member of the GLF trust.The 2023 ofsted rating was 'Requires Improvement'.

The Epsom Downs Branch is a railway line in the United Kingdom. The line runs from Sutton to Epsom Downs and is about 3+3⁄4 miles (6.0 km) long. The line starts at Sutton in the London Borough of Sutton. It is double track for about 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) until it reaches the approach to Belmont where it becomes single track. The line continues from Belmont through Banstead and terminates at Epsom Downs in Surrey. The "Downs" referred to in the name are part of the North Downs. The line opened in 1865.

Aberdour School, founded in 1928, is a co-educational preparatory school for ages 2–11 in Burgh Heath (near Banstead), Surrey, England. It is a nursery department, pre-preparatory school and preparatory school, and covers 14 acres (57,000 m2), 10 of which are playing fields.

Cuddington Meadows is a 1.4 hectare Local Nature Reserve and Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade I, in Belmont in the London Borough of Sutton. It is owned by Sutton Council and managed by the council together with Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers.The site was shown as two enclosures on the open Banstead Downs on an early nineteenth-century map, and it was later part of Walnut Tree Farm, which became Cuddington Hospital in 1897. The hospital closed in 1984, and in the late 1990s the land was transferred to Sutton Council to be managed for nature conservation.It is mainly chalk grassland with some scrub. Its most important feature is a variety of unusual flowering plants, including greater knapweed, lady's bedstraw and field scabious. Sixteen species of butterflies have been recorded, such as the rare small blue and green hairstreak.There is access from Cuddington Park Close.

Nork is a residential area of the borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey and borders Greater London, England. Nork is separated from its post town Banstead only by the A217 dual carriageway, and the built-up area is also contiguous with similar parts of Tattenham Corner and Burgh Heath. A thin belt of more open land separates it from the communities to the north: Epsom, Ewell, Cheam and Belmont. There are two parades of shops, one called the Driftbridge and another at the north-eastern end of Nork Way, the street which runs centrally through the residential area. Nork lies on chalk near the top of the gentle north-facing slope of the North Downs, 175 m (575 ft) above sea level at its highest point.

Banstead Downs is a 126.7-hectare (313-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Banstead in Surrey. There are Saxon burial mounds on the site and they are a Scheduled Monument Today, with wooded areas and wide open fields, Banstead Downs are predominantly used for walks by local residents. The downs also form a pathway from Belmont Village and Brighton Road to Banstead.

HM Prison High Down is a Category C men's training / resettlement prison. It is located on the outskirts of Banstead in Surrey, England (overlooking Banstead Downs), and is immediately adjacent to the southern boundary of Belmont in Greater London. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, and is near Downview Prison for women.

The Clink Restaurant concept was founded by Alberto Crisci in 2009 and are a major part of The Clink Charity's prisoner rehabilitation initiatives. The charity aims to break the cycle of crime by changing attitudes, creating second chances and reducing reoffending rates. Each prisoner who works in a Clink Restaurant studies for accredited NVQs in food preparation, food service and cleaning, and horticulture. Whilst working in a Clink Restaurant prisoners gain experience within an operational business and receive in-depth guidance to find full-time employment within the hospitality industry upon release. There are currently three Clink Restaurants in operation located at HMP Brixton, HMP High Down and HMP Styal. In December 2022 The Clink Restaurant HMP Cardiff closed down due to the conclusion of their lease.
