HM Prison High Down

The Clink Restaurant concept was founded by Alberto Crisci in 2009 and are a major part of The Clink Charity's prisoner rehabilitation initiatives. The charity aims to break the cycle of crime by changing attitudes, creating second chances and reducing reoffending rates. Each prisoner who works in a Clink Restaurant studies for accredited NVQs in food preparation, food service and cleaning, and horticulture. Whilst working in a Clink Restaurant prisoners gain experience within an operational business and receive in-depth guidance to find full-time employment within the hospitality industry upon release. There are currently three Clink Restaurants in operation located at HMP Brixton, HMP High Down and HMP Styal. In December 2022 The Clink Restaurant HMP Cardiff closed down due to the conclusion of their lease.

Banstead Hospital, also known as Banstead Asylum, was a psychiatric hospital in the village of Belmont, Sutton, adjacent to Banstead.

HM Prison Downview is a women's closed category prison. Downview is located on the outskirts of Banstead in Surrey, England (overlooking Banstead Downs), and is immediately adjacent to the southern boundary of Belmont in Greater London. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, and is situated in proximity to High Down Prison for men.

Banstead Downs is a 126.7-hectare (313-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Banstead in Surrey. There are Saxon burial mounds on the site and they are a Scheduled Monument Today, with wooded areas and wide open fields, Banstead Downs are predominantly used for walks by local residents. The downs also form a pathway from Belmont Village and Brighton Road to Banstead.

Greenacre School for Girls was an independent girls' school, founded in 1933, in Banstead, Surrey, England, which closed in 2017.It was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and was a member of the Girls' Schools Association. The governors of the school turned it over to United Learning in 2015.It closed in 2017, at the end of the academic year. The site is now used for the new independent and co-educational Banstead Preparatory School, which opened in September 2017 with the merger of Greenacre School for Girls, Priory School, and Bramley School in Banstead, Surrey. The new school is on the former Greenacre site, for pupils aged from 2 to 11. Pupils in Greenacre Junior School will transferred to the new school, and pupils in the Senior School were guaranteed places at other local schools. Banstead Preparatory School is run by United Learning.

The Institute of Cancer Research (the ICR) is a public research institute and a member institution of the University of London in London, United Kingdom, specialising in oncology. It was founded in 1909 as a research department of the Royal Marsden Hospital and joined the University of London in 2003. It has been responsible for a number of breakthrough discoveries, including that the basic cause of cancer is damage to DNA.The ICR occupies sites in Chelsea, Central London and Sutton, southwest London. The ICR provides both taught postgraduate degree programmes and research degrees and currently has around 340 students. Together with the Royal Marsden Hospital the ICR forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe, and was ranked second amongst all British higher education institutions in the Times Higher Education's assessment of the 2021 Research Excellence Framework. In clinical medicine, 97% and in biological sciences, 99% of the ICR's academic research was assessed to be world leading or internationally excellent (4* or 3*).The annual income of the institution for 2021–22 was £161.2 million of which £64.1 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £163.5 million. The ICR receives its external grant funding from the government body the Higher Education Funding Council for England, from government research council bodies and from charities including the Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Now and Bloodwise. It also receives voluntary income from legacies and from public and corporate donations. The ICR also runs a number of fundraising appeals and campaigns which help support a variety of cancer research projects.

The Epsom Downs Branch is a railway line in the United Kingdom. The line runs from Sutton to Epsom Downs and is about 3+3⁄4 miles (6.0 km) long. The line starts at Sutton in the London Borough of Sutton. It is double track for about 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) until it reaches the approach to Belmont where it becomes single track. The line continues from Belmont through Banstead and terminates at Epsom Downs in Surrey. The "Downs" referred to in the name are part of the North Downs. The line opened in 1865.

Harris Academy Sutton is a coeducational secondary school located in Sutton in the London Borough of Sutton, England. It is part of the Harris Federation. It opened to pupils in September 2019. The academy building, that cost £40 million, was constructed as part of the proposed London Cancer Hub project; a global centre for innovation in cancer research and treatment. It is built to passivhaus standards.

Belmont railway station serves the village of Belmont in the London Borough of Sutton in south London. The station is located on the Epsom Downs line and is in Travelcard Zone 5. It is 16 miles 1 chain (16.01 miles, 25.77 km) down the line from London Bridge measured via West Croydon. It is the closest station to the Royal Marsden Hospital, which is just under half a mile away. On 19 January 2023, Sutton Council were granted £14,121,979 from the government to add a turnback siding to the south of the station to increase capacity to let services run at 4 tph instead of the current 2 tph service patten.

Belmont Pastures is a 1.3 hectare Local Nature Reserve and Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II, in Belmont in the London Borough of Sutton. It is owned by Sutton Council and managed by the council together with Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers.The site is a long narrow triangle north of Belmont railway station. It is an old meadow which formerly belonged to Belmont Hospital. The meadow is unimproved chalk grassland with common grasses and wild flowers, including common vetch, bladder campion and common knapweed. It provides a good habitat for invertebrates such as butterflies, grasshoppers and crickets. On the eastern side there is a hawthorn hedge next to the railway line, while the western edge is lined by an avenue of large trees, mainly horse chestnut.There is access from Sevenoaks Close.

Shanklin Village, also known as the Shanklin Estate or Shanklin Village Estate is a council housing estate in Sutton, South London, sited between Brighton Road and the Epsom Downs Branch railway line. It was built in the late 1960s to replace a number of prefabricated buildings, purpose-built after the second World War.The estate consists of 424 deck-access flats and maisonettes built to a then-innovative layout and a few terraced houses. The southern part of the site is a large public open space known as Belmont Park.

Belmont is a village in the London Borough of Sutton, in South London, England. It is located off the A217 road and near to Banstead Downs in Surrey. It is a suburban development situated 10.8 miles (17.4 km) south-southwest of Charing Cross.
