Thomas Estley Community College is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, England. It caters for students aged 11–16. It forms part of The Success Academy Trust, together with Cosby Primary School, Hallbrook Primary School and Richmond Primary School. Subjects are: English, Science, CRE, History, Geography, French, Spanish, PE, Drama, Music, Computing, Art, Textiles, Resistant Materials, and Systems and Control. Dance, Health and Social Care, and Business are also included as a GCSE subject. The school hosts a satellite site of Birkett House School, offering alternative education for pupils with moderate learning difficulties.

Broughton Astley is a large village and civil parish located in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It is situated in the south of Leicestershire, about 6 miles (10 km) east of Hinckley, about 9 miles (14 km) from the centre of Leicester, and about 14 miles from Coventry. The parish borders the Blaby district to the north, as well as sharing borders with the parishes of Cosby, Leire, and Dunton Bassett. The population of the civil parish (which includes Sutton in the Elms) at the time of the 2011 census was 8,940. A tributary of the River Soar runs through it.

Leire is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district, in the county of Leicestershire, England. The name is thought to originate from the old British name for the river Soar, which has a tributary with a source south of the village. Present day Leire has a population of around 500, measured at 587 in the 2011 census. The village is north of Lutterworth. Today Leire has two public houses, the Queen's Arms and the Crab and Cow, as well as a church, a village hall and a riding establishment. Leire Village Hall is home to Leire pre-school group, Leire and Dunton Scout Group (which has a Beaver, Cub and Scout section) and a Pilates class.

Dunton Bassett is a small village in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It lies between Leicester and Lutterworth, and close to Broughton Astley, Ashby Magna & Leire. It had a population of 795 at the 2001 UK census, falling to 759 at the 2011 census.

Leire Halt railway station was a railway halt serving Leire in Leicestershire on the line between Leicester and Rugby. The London, Midland and Scottish Railway opened the halt in 1925 on the Leicester – Rugby line of the former Midland Counties Railway. British Railways closed the Leicester – Rugby line and its stations in 1962.

Guthlaxton is an ancient hundred of Leicestershire. Its jurisdiction was in the south of the county, and covered Lutterworth and Wigston Magna. At the time of the Domesday Book, it was one of Leicestershire's four wapentakes, and covered a much larger area, including Market Bosworth and Hinckley, which would later be made part of the Sparkenhoe hundred. The original meeting place of the hundred was at the Guthlaxton stone. The Sparkenhoe hundred was split from Guthlaxton in 1346.Guthlaxton College in Wigston Magna was named after the hundred. The school was renamed Wigston College in 2015. In the late 19th century the administrative aspects of most hundreds were given to other specialized governmental divisions.

Sutton in the Elms is a settlement in the northwest of Broughton Astley (where the population is listed), Leicestershire. Its name is sometimes abbreviated to Sutton Elms. Sutton is one of the three settlements mentioned in Domesday that now comprise Broughton Astley: namely Broctone, Sutone and Torp.

St Peter's Church is a church in Ashby Parva, Leicestershire. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Ashby Magna was a station on the Great Central Railway, the last main line to be constructed from the north of England to London, which opened in 1899 to serve the Leicestershire village of Ashby Magna. Architecturally, the station was very similar to Whetstone in that it comprised a single island platform designed by Alexander Ross which allowed the tracks to pass either side of a central platform, and was intended to facilitate future expansion of the railway. Access to the station was via a stairway which led down from the road bridge on Station Road.
