Redford Union High School

The Redford Township District No. 5 School is a school building located at 18499 Beech Daly Road in Redford, Michigan. After 1923, the school was known as the Redford Union District No. 1 School, and the building was also called the Beech Road School. It is now known as the John C. Raeside Administration Building. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1994 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

St. Agatha High School was a coeducational Catholic high school in Redford, Michigan. It closed and became St. Katharine Drexel High School in 2003.

Redford Township is a charter township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. An inner-ring suburb of Detroit, Redford borders Detroit to the west, roughly 15 miles (24.1 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the township had a population of 49,504.

The John Grace School, also known as the District No. 9 Public School or the John Grace Park and Community Center, is a former school located at 21030 Indian Street in Southfield, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2023.

The Botsford Inn is a nineteenth century inn and tavern located at 28000 Grand River Avenue in Farmington, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Beaumont Hospital - Farmington Hills, formerly known as Botsford Hospital, is a 330-bed teaching hospital with level II trauma center status. Founded in 1965, the hospital is affiliated with Beaumont Health. The hospital earned three year accreditation from the American Osteopathic Association's Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program in 2008.

Livonia Marketplace is an open-air shopping mall in the Detroit suburb of Livonia, Michigan. Opened in 2010, the center is anchored by Kohl's and Walmart. It occupies the site of the former Livonia Mall, which was an enclosed mall built in 1964. Livonia Mall lost the majority of its tenants in the 2000s, including its previous anchor stores of Crowley's (later Value City), Sears, Mervyns, and Children's Palace. The mall was closed in May 2008, with only the Sears remaining from the original property. Sears closed in April 2020.

Eliza Howell Park is a public park in Brightmoor, Detroit, Michigan. Howell Park, east of Telegraph Road between Fenkell Avenue and Schoolcraft Avenue, has 250 acres (100 ha) of land, making it the fourth largest park in Detroit; this is about one fourth of the area of Belle Isle or .25 square miles (0.65 km2). A greenway links Howell with Stoepel Park. Howell has a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) nature trail that, in 2009, was recently constructed.

Lee M. Thurston High School is a public high school in Redford, Michigan, United States in the suburban Detroit area. The school is a part of the South Redford School District. The school was completed in 1956. Recently THS received the rank of 11th among Michigan schools in Newsweek's top 1,000 high schools list. Thirty percent of Thurston High School receives subsidized lunch.

Duboisville was an unincorporated community in Wayne County, Michigan, USA, in the general vicinity of 7 Mile Road and Berg Road, which is now within the city boundaries of Detroit. It was begun around the lumber mill of James Dubois in about 1850. Some sources say that it was projected around the mill in 1878 but it seems there was a community using this name before then. At the time, it was in what was then Redford Township. Early on, Julius Ziegler, a merchant operating in the village, tried to have the place renamed for himself, but the original name of Duboisville was retained.The town had a school called the Duboisville School. This continued to exist after the area was annexed to Detroit and operated as part of Detroit Public Schools until the 1980s.Starting about 1900, the population of the village went into decline. In 1916, the lumbermill closed. At about this time, Duboisville merged with Sandhill to form the village of Redford. In 1926, the village of Redford voted to become part of Detroit.

Communication & Media Arts High School (CMA) is a public, magnet high school and part of Detroit Public Schools in Detroit, Michigan. Kim Woo Gray was principal from when the school opened in 1992 until her retirement in 2008. CMA has twenty-three full-time staff and 512 students. CMA is one of four magnet schools in Detroit, others being (Renaissance High School, Cass Technical High School and Detroit School of Arts).

Michigan's 13th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Wayne County, Michigan. It is currently represented by Democrat Shri Thanedar. The district includes portions of Detroit and some of its suburbs, and since the 2012 redistricting, has been the only congressional district in Michigan to be contained within a single county. District boundaries were redrawn in 1993, 2003, 2013, and 2023 due to reapportionment following each respective census. Before 1992, the 13th congressional district was a Detroit-based district represented by Barbara-Rose Collins. Besides Downtown Detroit, the southwest portion of the city, Mid-town, areas south of Highland Park, and the southern East Side, the district also included Grosse Pointe Park and Grosse Pointe City. During the 1980s, the 13th congressional district lost the most population out of any district in Michigan. However, due to the common interpretation of the Voting Rights Act, which mandates multiple districts in areas with racial majority-minority populations, it was not eliminated in the 1992 redistricting, only renumbered as the 15th district. A special election was held on November 6, 2018, following the resignation of Representative John Conyers. Brenda Jones won the special election to fill the remainder of Conyers term in the 115th Congress. Democrat Rashida Tlaib won the regular election for the term in the 116th Congress. Tlaib was redrawn into the 12th district after the 2020 redistricting cycle. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of D+23, it is one of the most Democratic districts in Michigan.
