Rama IV Road (Thai: ถนนพระรามที่ 4, RTGS: Thanon Phra Ram Thi Si; usually shortened to ถนนพระราม 4, RTGS: Thanon Phra Ram Si) is a main road in Bangkok, Thailand. It starts at Mo Mi Junction in the area of Bangkok's Chinatown in Samphanthawong and Pom Prap Sattru Phai Districts and ends at the junction with Sukhumvit Road (Phra Khanong Junction) in Khlong Toei District near Bangkok Port, also known as Khlong Toei Port. Bordering the road are the Hua Lamphong railway station, Wat Hua Lamphong, New Sam Yan Market, Lumphini Park and Rama VI Memorial Plaza, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, and the headquarters of Channel 3. The MRT Blue Line snakes underneath Rama IV Road between Hua Lamphong MRT Station and Queen Sirikit National Convention Center MRT Station.

Sala Daeng (Thai: ศาลาแดง, pronounced [sǎːlāː dɛ̄ːŋ]) is the name of the intersection and neighbourhood at the beginning of Si Lom Road in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located within Pathum Wan District, next to its border with Bang Rak, where Si Lom meets Rama IV and Ratchadamri Roads. The Thai–Japan Flyover Bridge, constructed in 1992, passes over Sala Daeng intersection, as well as the westward Henri Dunant and Sam Yan intersections, along Rama IV Road. A small street, known as Sala Daeng Road, branches off Si Lom Road (near the intersection) and connects to the parallel Sathon Road. The intersection area is served by the Sala Daeng Station of the BTS skytrain's Silom Line and the Si Lom Station of the underground MRT's Blue Line, forming one of the two systems' three interchanges and a gateway into the main business district of Si Lom Road, which begins here. On the corners of the intersection are Lumphini Park, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and the Dusit Thani Hotel.

The Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, the second oldest medical school in Thailand, was established in 1947 in accordance with the wishes of King Ananda Mahidol to educate a sufficient number of medical doctors to satisfy the public's demands. For more than half a century, this medical school has provided society with more than 5,000 medical doctors. The school accepts about 300 medical students and more than 100 for postgraduate residency training each year. It has been ranked as one of the best medical schools in Thailand in 2016.

Si Lom station (Thai: สถานีสีลม, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː sǐː lōm]) is an underground station of the Bangkok MRT, on the Blue Line. The station is located beneath Rama IV Road at Sala Daeng Intersection, where Si Lom Road begins, serving one of the city's main business districts.

The Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute (QSMI) (Thai: สถานเสาวภา; RTGS: Sathan Saowapha) in Bangkok, Thailand, is an institute that specialises in the husbandry of venomous snakes, the extraction and research of snake venom, and vaccines, especially rabies vaccine. It houses the snake farm, a popular tourist attraction.The origins of the institute can be traced back to 1912 when King Rama VI granted permission for a government institute to manufacture and distribute rabies vaccine at the suggestion of Prince Damrong, whose daughter, Princess Banlusirisarn, died from rabies infection. It was officially opened on 26 October 1913 in the Luang Building on Bamrung Muang Road as the Pastura Institute after Louis Pasteur, who discovered the first vaccine against rabies. In 1917 it was renamed the Pasteur Institute and placed under the supervision of the Thai Red Cross Society. The institute also produced vaccine against smallpox. The Travel and Immunization Clinic is now located here. If offers vaccines and pre-travel consultation.In the early-1920s the king offered his private property for the construction of a new home for the institute on Rama IV Road. The new buildings were officially opened on 7 December 1922, now named for the king's mother, Queen Saovabha Phongsri. At the same time, the institute's first director, Dr. Leopold Robert, requested contributions from foreigners living in Thailand for the establishment of a snake farm, which would enable the institute to manufacture antivenom for snake bites. Reportedly the second snake farm in the world after Instituto Butantan in São Paulo, Brazil, it was opened on 22 November 1923 by Queen Savang Vadhana, then President of the Thai Red Cross, on the institute's premises.Research into snake venom is highly important, since many people fall victim to venomous snake bites. Normally only an antidote that is based from the same snake's venom can save the individual's life. The snake farm houses thousands of some of the most venomous snakes in the world, such as the king cobra and all sorts of vipers. Visitors can see handlers interact with pythons, and venom extractions can be seen. There is also a museum, and lectures are given. The QSMI and the snake farm are near Chulalongkorn Hospital, on the corner of Henri Dunant Road and Rama IV Road.

Sala Daeng station (Thai: สถานีศาลาแดง, RTGS: Sathani Sala Daeng, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː sǎː.lāː dɛ̄ːŋ]) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Silom line in Bang Rak District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Si Lom Road to the southwest of Sala Daeng Intersection. It is surrounded by financial center along Si Lom Road with towers and skyscrapers, and also entertainment area of Patpong and Thaniya.

Dusit Central Park is a mixed-use skyscraper development currently under construction in the Bang Rak district of Bangkok, Thailand. It occupies a 23-rai (3.7 ha; 9.1-acre) site on the corner of Sala Daeng Intersection at the beginning of Si Lom Road in Bangkok's financial district, replacing the old Dusit Thani Hotel which stood there from 1970 to 2019. Conceived as a joint-venture between hotel-owner Dusit International and property developer Central Pattana, its location overlooking the vast expanse of Lumphini Park makes it a prime real estate property, with a project value of 46 billion baht (US$1.5bn in 2019).The project is scheduled for completion in 2025, and comprises three skyscrapers: a new hotel, a residential tower and an office tower, connected by an eight-storey retail podium featuring a rooftop park. It is among several high-profile development projects emerging around the central green space of Lumphini Park, along with One Bangkok and Sindhorn Village.

The Dusit Thani Bangkok, often referred to simply as the Dusit Thani Hotel (Thai: โรงแรมดุสิตธานี), was a luxury hotel in the Thai capital's Bang Rak District. The original hotel was the country's tallest building when it opened in 1970 as the first property of Dusit International. Work on demolishing the building started in 2019 and ended in 2020. A new hotel with the same name is scheduled to open on the site in 2023 as part of the Dusit Central Park complex.

Patpong (Thai: พัฒน์พงศ์, RTGS: Phat Phong, pronounced [pʰát pʰōŋ]) is an entertainment district in Bangkok's Bang Rak District, Thailand, catering mainly, though not exclusively, to foreign tourists and expatriates. While Patpong is internationally known as a red light district at the heart of Bangkok's sex industry, it is in fact only one of several red-light districts with some catering primarily to Thai men while others, like Patpong, cater primarily to foreigners.A busy night market aimed at tourists is also located in Patpong.

Soi Pratuchai (alias: "Soi Twilight"; Thai: ซอยประตูชัย, meaning "Triumphal arch") was a gay related entertainment walkway in the Bangrak district of Bangkok, Thailand, catering mainly, though not exclusively, to foreign tourists and expatriates. While Soi Pratuchai was internationally known as a red light district for gays at the heart of Bangkok's sex industry, the city in fact has numerous gay-related red-light districts that are far more popular with Thai. Soi Pratuchai is closed since 1 April 2019. All the buildings will be destroyed and some bars will relocate in the vicinity, while others have closed down permanently.

The Patpong Museum is a museum in Bangkok, Thailand. Opened in 2019 in Patpong Soi 2, its collection includes interactive exhibitions, artifacts, and recreated spaces covering Patpong's history from its 1946 purchase by the Patpongpanich family and subsequent development. The presence of the CIA in Patpong through its secret airlines such as "Civil Air Transport" and "Air America" is highlighted and brings the cold war, the Vietnam war and the secret war in Laos into the context of Patpong.The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to Patpongs further development into one of the world's most famous entertainment areas and eventually red light districts. Superstars like David Bowie, Robert De Niro, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Christopher Walken visit and film in Patpong marking its presence in popular culture.The privately owned museum is located on the 2nd floor of building 5, below Black Pagoda, and is open daily.

Patpong Night Market is a night bazaar in well-known red-light district Patpong neighbourhood in downtown Bangkok. Patpong is a popular entertainment district located in the namesake soi (alley) of Silom road. One of the most important commercial zones of Bangkok. During the day, it is full of office workers and street hawkers. When the night falls, the pavements on either side of the road are turned into a long stretch of shopping complex. Various goods ranging from fake brand name items to cheap clothes are souvenirs. Silom or Patpong's world-class reputation comes from numerous nightclubs and many other night entertainment venues as well as various street food stalls along the road. Most of shops are open daily from 05:00 pm to 12:00 am. Can be accessed via both Silom and Surawong roads.
