Silbersee (Langenhagen)

Langenhagen (Eastphalian: Langenhogen) is a town in the Hanover district of Lower Saxony, Germany.

Langenhagen Pferdemarkt station (Langenhagen (Han) until 27 May 2000) is a station in the town of Langenhagen, which lies north of Hanover, the capital of the German state of Lower Saxony. At present it is served by lines S4 and S5 of the Hanover S-Bahn. It was opened as Langenhagen station in 1890 and was the only station in Langenhagen in the first half of the 20th century. Three extra stations have been built since because of the growth of Langenhagen and the development of Hannover Airport. Since regional and long-distance services now only stop in the neighbouring Langenhagen Mitte station, Pferdemarkt station is now only served by S-Bahn services.

Vahrenwald-List (Eastphalian: Fahrnwoole-List) is the second district of Hanover. With 71,173 inhabitants (2020), it is the most populous district of the city consisting of the quarters Vahrenwald (24,986 inh.) and List (46,187 inh.). Since 2011, the SPD politician Irma Walkling-Stehmann holds the district mayor office.

The Wietzesee (also known as Hastrasee) is a 29-hectare artificial lake near Langenhagen in the Hanover Region.

Hanover Region (German: Region Hannover) is a district in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Heidekreis, Celle, Gifhorn, Peine, Hildesheim, Hamelin-Pyrmont, Schaumburg and Nienburg. The Hanover Region district has a unique legal status among the districts of Lower Saxony. It includes the city of Hanover (the state capital) which has the same privileges as a city that is not part of a district. As a consequence, the district is much larger in population than any other district of the state. Its administrative body is the regional parliament (Regionsparlament), headed by the regional president (Regionspräsident), which since 2006 is Hauke Jagau (SPD). The members of the regional parliament are elected once every five years and the regional president is elected once every eight years in local elections.

The Nordstadt (North City) is the university quarter in the German city of Hanover. Part of the borough Hanover-Nord, it has 17,684 inhabitants (2020).It was originally characterized by small factories and a big railway freightyard closed in 1996. During World War II large parts of the district were destroyed. Today, due to the university and cultural clubs, this district is a preferred residential area for students and people of immigrant background. An almost village-like atmosphere exists around the Luther Church (see photo) where a lot of pubs and small shops resides. Many alternative project groups have settled here and also numerous communes live in these houses.The area of the former "Sprengel Chocolate Factory" was squatted and later legalized. It formed the base for the annual German punk festival called the Chaos Days, every first weekend in August.

The Eilenriede is a 640-hectare (1,600-acre) municipal forest in Hannover, Germany. It is the largest urban city forest in Germany, and also one of the largest in Europe. The Eilenriede is nearly twice the size of Central Park. The biggest German urban "park" in the strict sense of the word, however, is the Englischer Garten München, with "only" 375-hectare (930-acre). (See also List of urban parks by size)

The Telemax is a telecommunication tower built from 1988 to 1992 in Hanover. The tower was designed by Hans U. Boeckler and is 272 metres (892 ft) metres (892 feet) high. The tower stands on a 10 metres (33 ft) high base building, which brings its overall height to 282 metres (925 ft). The tower is the fifth tallest TV tower in Germany. The owner and operator of the site is Deutsche Funkturm (DFMG), a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.

International Neuroscience Institute or INI is an international research institute and hospital in Hanover, Germany. In this hospital treatments contains treating diseases of brain, spinal cord diseases, diseases of peripheral nerves, tumors and etcetera. In addition, animal testing can also be performed.

The Max Planck Institute of Experimental Endocrinology, located in Hannover, Germany, was one of 80 institutes in the Max Planck Society (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft). It was founded 1979 to supersede the Max Planck Institute of Cell Biology in Wilhelmshaven. Molecular developmental biology and neuroendocrinology were the two research areas of the institute. The institute was closed 2006 and parts of its research activities were moved to the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen.

The Old Jewish Cemetery on the Oberstrasse (German: Alter Jüdischer Friedhof an der Oberstraße) is a Jewish cemetery in Hanover. Located on a hill in the city's Nordstadt district, it is the oldest extant Jewish cemetery in Northern Germany. The cemetery contains about 700 graves and was in use from circa 1550 until 1864.

The Welfenschloss Stables is the residence of the Technical Information Library at the Leibniz University Hannover. It was built in 1863–1867 during the reign of the last Hanoverian king, George V as the royal stables for the Guelph Palace (Welfenschloss).
