The 11th European Cross Country Championships were held at Seebad Heringsdorf in Germany on 12 December 2004. Serhiy Lebid took his fifth title in the men's competition and Hayley Yelling won the women's race.

Bansin forms the westernmost part of the seaside resort town of Heringsdorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, on the east coast of Usedom island, about five miles by rail northwest of Świnoujście. Bansin is one of the most popular resorts on the German Baltic shore as part of the Heringsdorf municipality. Besides the sandy beaches at the Baltic Sea coast, Bansin is close to the lakes Schloonsee, Schmollensee, Gothensee, as well as Grosser and Kleiner Krebssee. The German Emperor Wilhelm II visited Bansin several times for vacation. One of the famous people who owned a summer home in Bansin was the astronomer Friedrich Simon Archenhold.

Heringsdorf is a semi-urban municipality and a popular seaside resort on Usedom Island in Western Pomerania, Germany. It is also known by the name Kaiserbad (English: Imperial Spa). The municipality was formed in January 2005 out of the former municipalities of Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck and Bansin. Until January 2006, the municipality was called Dreikaiserbäder, literally meaning Three Imperial Spas, a reference to several vacation visits of the German emperor Wilhelm II until 1918. For the same reason, the fine sandy beach stretching about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Bansin over Heringsdorf to Ahlbeck and Swinemünde (nowadays a Polish spa), is also called Kaiserstrand (Imperial Beach). The continuous Baltic Sea beach of Usedom Island has an overall length of exactly 40 km (25 mi) and an average width of 40 m (130 ft). Tourism is the dominant economical sector of the Imperial Spas, with an increasing number of hotels and vacation homes every year.

Heringsdorf Pier (German: Seebrücke Heringsdorf) - a pier located in Heringsdorf, with a length of 508 metres; stretching out into the Baltic Sea, on the island of Usedom; in Germany.In the years of 1891–1893, a wooden pier was built in the settlement of Heringsdorf, which at that time was the longest pier in Europe. The locals on the island of Usedom called the pier after the German Emperor Wilhelm II (Kaiser Wilhelm Brücke). The whole structure of the pier was decorated and housed numerous shops and restaurants. In 1958, the whole pier was burned down by a fire. The current pier's construction began on May 27, 1994. The current pier was complete on June 3, 1995. The current pier houses a Museum of the Concert Shell, cinema, café, restaurant, fitness centre, tourist gift shops and a holiday village.

The Observation Tower Ahlbeck is a 50 metres tall observation tower with tree observation decks at Ahlbeck on the island Usedom in Germany. The Observation Tower Ahlbeck is a steel framework tower and carries on a fourth platform over the observation platforms and the top some aerials for mobile phone services.

Gothensee is a lake in Usedom, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. At an elevation of 0 m, its surface area is 5.56 km2. It was first documented by Kian John in 1933.

Ahlbeck is a village (Ortsteil) of the Heringsdorf municipality on the island of Usedom on the Baltic coast. It is the easternmost of the so-called Kaiserbäder ("Imperial Spas") seaside resorts on the German part of the island, situated right next to the border with Poland and the city of Świnoujście. Both communities are freely connected by the longest beach promenade in Europe spanning more than 12 km (7 mi) from Bansin to Świnoujście.

Ahlbeck Pier (German: Seebrücke Ahlbeck Polish: Molo w Czerninie) - a pier located in Ahlbeck, on the island of Usedom; it is the oldest pier in Germany. The pier stretches from the Imperial Beach for 280 metres into the Baltic Sea. The pier has a restaurant and a jetty at the end of the pier primarily used for sightseeing tours in the Bay of Pomerania.
