The Grand Theatre, Derby was a theatre in Derby in the English Midlands. It was opened in 1886, designed in an Italian renaissance style by a Birmingham architect Oliver Essex. It originally had a capacity of 2,500. Shortly after opening the theatre suffered a major fire, in which two people were killed and the building substantially damaged. Rebuilt it became a successful venue for touring companies and pantomime. In 1950 the theatre was closed down and was later converted into a ballroom.In 1924 the play Dracula starring Hamilton Deane began its tour in Derby. In 1945 the play A Man About the House premiered at the Grand before transferring to the West End.

Derby School was a school in Derby in the English Midlands from 1160 to 1989. It had an almost continuous history of education of over eight centuries. For most of that time it was a grammar school for boys. The school became co-educational and comprehensive in 1972 and was closed in 1989. In 1994 a new independent school called Derby Grammar School for boys was founded.

The Old Grammar School, St. Peter's Churchyard, Derby, England, is now a Ladies Hairdressing Salon. The building's new owner is the daughter of the architect responsible for the original restoration of this historical property. All of the original features of the building have been retained and further extensive restoration work has been carried out at the new owner's expense. The Reverend John Cotton, a principal New England Puritan figure and a founder of Boston, Massachusetts, was educated at Derby School.The Heritage Centre was established in 1992 by Richard Felix, long time historian on popular Living show Most Haunted and is the starting point for Derby Ghost Walks. The paranormal TV series Most Haunted completed an investigation at the Heritage Centre in 2003.

The Derby Catacombs (also referred to as the Guildhall Catacombs) are a series of tunnels running beneath the city of Derby, most notably beneath the Marketplace and Derby Guildhall. Access to the tunnels is available via a back room of the nearby Tiger pub.During the Victorian era, the tunnels were used to ferry prisoners between the police station at "Lock-Up Yard" and the Courts of Assizes, held at the Guildhall.

The Metro Cinema was an independent cinema in Derby, United Kingdom, with one screen. It showed many independent, arthouse and foreign films, as well as some older mainstream films.For most of its life, the cinema was located on Green Lane, but it relocated to the University of Derby campus in 2007. In 2008, it closed, in preparation for a move to the new Derby QUAD development in the city centre.

Quad (branded as QUAD and also known as Derby QUAD), is an arts centre in Derby, England, first opened on 26 September 2008. Quad provides an art gallery, three cinemas (two large cinemas and a smaller relaxed room known as "The Box" showing small lesser known films), artists’ studios, and a cafe bar. The centre also has spaces in which people can create their own artwork.The building has a steel-and-glass design by Bath architects Feilden Clegg Bradley, which was considered controversial when it was chosen by Derby council cabinet in 2004.

The Derby War Memorial was designed by Charles Clayton Thompson and stands before the Derby Guildhall. It features a bronze figure of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus in her arms by the sculptor George Arthur Walker. It was completed in 1924 and unveiled on 11 November 1924. Behind this bronze figure is a large Celtic cross. The memorial was erected to commemorate the fallen of The Great War with the inscription "The Great War/1914-1918". A later inscription, "For Faith/And Home/And Righteousness/World War 1939–1945", was added to recognize those men of Derby who died in the Second World War.A plaque commemorates the victims of later conflicts.
