The Fayetteville Street Historic District in Raleigh, North Carolina is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The District includes the 100–400 blocks of Fayetteville Street, the 00–100 blocks of the south side of West Hargett Street, the 00 block of the north side of West Martin Street, and the 100–400 blocks of South Salisbury Street.The District, composed mostly of commercial establishments, is home to eleven buildings listed on the NRHP. They include: Masonic Temple Building, 133 Fayetteville St. Briggs Hardware Building, 220 Fayetteville St. Lumsden-Boone Building, 226 Fayetteville St. Mahler Building, 228 Fayetteville St. Carolina Trust Building, 230 Fayetteville St. Federal Building, 314 Fayetteville St. Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel, 400 Fayetteville St. Raleigh Bank and Trust Company Building, 5 W. Hargett St. Odd Fellows Building, 19 W. Hargett St. McLellan's Five and Dime Annex, 14 W. Martin St. Capital Club Building, 16 W. Martin St.

Capital Bank Plaza is a skyscraper in Raleigh, North Carolina which houses the headquarters of Capital Bank. Formerly known as 333 Corporate Plaza, the 15-story building at 333 Fayetteville Street has 135,000 square feet (12,500 m2) of space and is an "outstanding example of International Style modernism" and "features black granite on the facade with polished green marble, black granite, and cherry paneling in the lobby."Emery Roth designed the building, built in 1964. From the 1960s until 1990, the building housed the Raleigh offices of BB&T. The Equitable Life Assurance Society, which had owned the building since 1980, began a $4 million renovation in 1993, and renamed the building 333 Corporate Plaza. KB Fund IV of California bought the building in 1997 and sold it to Modern Continental of Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2000. Raleigh Development bought the building in 2004, and McKinney & Silver soon left its 40,000 square feet (3,700 m2) to move to Durham. On November 2, 2005, Capital Bank announced plans to move to five floors in the building and rename it Capital Bank Center, putting the bank's name on top. The move gave downtown Raleigh its first bank headquarters since First Citizens moved to a suburban location 15 years earlier.Capital Bank announced it would lease two floors of the ten-story One Glenwood in Raleigh. The lease included a sign on the building.

Mahler and Carolina Trust Buildings, also known as McLellan's Dime Store and McCrory's Dime Store, are two historic commercial buildings located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The Mahler Building was built in 1876, and the Carolina Trust Building was built in 1902. They were consolidated as McLellan's Dime Store about 1933. A two-story annex was added to the building in 1952. The Mahler Building is a three-story, three-bay, Renaissance Revival style brick building with round arched windows. The Carolina Trust Building is a four-story, three-bay, Classical Revival style brick building. The annex is a two-story, seven-bay, addition with Art Moderne design elements.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It is located in the Fayetteville Street Historic District.

The Lumsden–Boone Building is a historic commercial building located at 226 Fayetteville Street in the Fayetteville Street Historic District of Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Constructed in 1896 for tin and hardware dealer J.C.S. Lumsden, the building is the only surviving metal-front building today on Fayetteville Street. Boone's official business name was "C.R. Boone, DeLuxe Clothier"; his was considered one of the city's leading businesses and boasted the slogan "Come and See". The Lumsden–Boone Building is currently used by a web design company. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 8, 1983, and was renovated in 1985 and in 2008.

The Briggs Hardware Building is a four-story historic building in downtown Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1874 by Thomas Briggs to house his family-owned hardware store. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.Currently the building is home to the City of Raleigh Museum, and is owned by a joint group of non-governmental organizations.

Raleigh Banking and Trust Company Building, also known as the Raleigh Building, is a historic bank office building located at Raleigh, North Carolina. It is an eleven-story, seven bays wide and three bays deep, Classical Revival style skyscraper. It is a steel frame and brick veneer building with white terra cotta ornamental elements. The first three stories were built in 1913, with the upper eight stories added in 1928–1929. The first three floors were radically renovated in 1935–1936, with the addition of Art Moderne design elements.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Sir Walter Hotel is the oldest surviving hotel building in Raleigh, North Carolina. Constructed between 1923 and 1924 on Fayetteville Street and named after Sir Walter Raleigh, the hotel was nicknamed North Carolina's "third house of government", due to its location and being a focal point for state political activity until the 1960s.

The Moore Square Historic District is a registered historic district located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, the district is centered on Moore Square, one of two surviving four-acre (1.6 hm) parks from Raleigh's original 1792 plan. The park is named after Alfred Moore, a North Carolina judge who became an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court. Originally a residential neighborhood, Moore Square developed into a primary commercial hub in the city throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The district includes East Hargett Street, once known as Raleigh's "Black Main Street", because it once contained the largest number of businesses owned by African-Americans in the city. City Market, Marbles Kids Museum/IMAX theatre, Pope House Museum, Artspace, and the Long View Center are located in the Moore Square district. Events that take place in Moore Square include the Raleigh Arts Festival, Artsplosure, Movies in the Park, the Street Painting Festival, and the Moore Square Farmer's Market The approximate district boundaries include Person, Morgan, Wilmington, and Davie Streets.In addition to its national listing, Moore Square is one of six local historic overlay districts (HOD) in Raleigh. The Moore Square Historic District also includes Moore Square Park, which holds the restaurant Square Burger, and includes Moore Square Magnet Middle School, which is part of the Wake County Public School System.

The Odd Fellows Building in Raleigh, North Carolina, also known as the Commerce Building, is a 10-story skyscraper built in 1923. It reflects Late 19th and Early 20th Century American Movements architecture and Classical Revival architecture and consists of the classic base-shaft-capital design. The Odd Fellows (IOOF) Building served as a meeting hall for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and as a business.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Red Hat Tower is the headquarters of Red Hat. It is located at Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. It was completed in 2004 at a cost of $100 million as a headquarters for Progress Energy Inc and has 19 floors and 366,000 square feet (34,000 m2) of space. It is owned by J.P. Morgan Trust Co.

One Progress Plaza is a high-rise building in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was completed in 1977 as a headquarters for Carolina Power & Light (now Progress Energy Inc) and has 21 floors and 440,000 square feet (41,000 m2) of space. It is owned by Hawthorn Associates. Former names include Center Plaza, CP&L Building, and Progress Energy Building. In 1999, Carolina Power & Light announced plans for a new headquarters tower. The 2000 merger with Florida Progress Corporation which created Progress Energy increased the need for the new building. The company bought the two-acre site east of the existing headquarters in 2000.On August 27, 2003, Progress Energy named its headquarters Progress Plaza, intending the name to refer to its entire complex of buildings. Once the new headquarters was complete, the plan was to call the existing headquarters One Progress Plaza and the new building Two Progress Plaza.The January 2011 announcement that Progress will merge with Duke Energy left the status of One Progress Plaza in question, since completion of the merger would likely mean the company needs less space. However, on August 25, 2011, Red Hat announced plans to take over Two Progress Plaza, which forced Progress Energy to move its entire Raleigh operation into One Progress Plaza upon completion of the merger.

The Capital Club Building is a historic office building located at 16 W. Martin St. in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Frank B. Simpson and built in 1929 in the Art Deco style. It is a 12-story, steel-frame skyscraper in the classic base-shaft-capital form. It was built for the Capital Club, which was one of the oldest and most prominent organizations for men in the South.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
