Ajdovščina Airport (ICAO: LJAJ) (Slovene: Letališče Ajdovščina) is a local airfield and tourist airport in the Vipava Valley, Slovenia. The airport was originally built for the Battles of the Isonzo and is today home to the Josip Križaj Ajdovščina Aeroclub and the ultralight aircraft manufacturer Pipistrel. The flying club is named after the Slovene war ace Josip Križaj (a.k.a. Giuseppe Krizai).

The Slano Blato Landslide (Slovene: plaz Slano blato), or the Salt Mud Slide, is a periodic landslide in Slovenia that is triggered approximately once a century. Although around 8,000 active landslides are present in Slovenia, the Slano Blato Landslide stands out as one of the most serious in terms of the damage it has caused.: 103 The landslide is located on the southern edge of the Trnovo Plateau of the Dinaric Alps, below Mount Čaven and Little Mountain (Mala gora) next to the Platna mountain pasture. It is moving along Grajšček Creek (which also originates in the landslide itself) toward the settlement of Lokavec near Ajdovščina. It is 1,010 to 1,300 metres (3,310 to 4,270 ft) long and 60 to 250 m (200 to 820 ft) wide, covering approximately 15 hectares (37 acres) between the elevations of 360 and 660 m (1,180 and 2,170 ft). Its maximum flow rate was recorded at 100 m (330 ft)/day.

Slokarji (pronounced [ˈsloːkaɾji]; Italian: Slocari) is a formerly independent settlement in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in southwestern Slovenia. It is now part of the village of Lokavec. It is part of the traditional region of the Littoral and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Gorizia Statistical Region.

Stomaž (pronounced [ˈstoːmaʃ]) is a village in the hills north of the Vipava Valley in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is made up of several smaller hamlets: Brith, Dolenja Vas (Slovene: Dolenja vas), Hrib, Ljubljanica, Griže, Črnigoji, Bratini, and Batagelji.

Ajdovščina City Stadium (Slovene: Mestni stadion Ajdovščina) is a stadium in Ajdovščina, Slovenia. It is used mostly for football matches. During the 2009–10 season, the stadium underwent extensive reconstruction. It was reopened on 5 September 2010 with a capacity of 1,630 seats.

Plače (pronounced [ˈplaːtʃɛ]) is a small settlement in the Vipava Valley in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in the Littoral region of Slovenia. Together with the neighbouring villages of Male Žablje and Vipavski Križ it forms the local community of Vipavski Križ.

Vipavski Križ (pronounced [ʋiˈpaːu̯ski ˈkɾiːʃ] ; Italian: Santa Croce di Aidussina) is a settlement on a small hill in the Vipava Valley in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in the Littoral region of Slovenia. There is evidence of habitation on the hill in the pre-Roman period. The settlement was first mentioned in written documents dating to the 13th century. The houses in the village are clustered inside a defence wall around a castle from the late 15th century. It was built to protect the residents against Ottoman raids. In 1532 Vipavski Križ was declared a town. In 1636 a Capuchin monastery with a rich library was founded in the town and it is now open to visitors.

Skrilje (pronounced [ˈskɾiːljɛ]) is a village in the Vipava Valley in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is divided into three smaller hamlets: Valiči, Ruštji, and Bajči.The local church is dedicated to Saint Margaret of Antioch and belongs to the Parish of Kamnje.
