Woodrow, Buckinghamshire

Chiltern District was one of four local government districts of Buckinghamshire in south central England from 1974 to 2020. It was named after the Chiltern Hills on which the region sits. The main towns in the district were Amersham and Chesham which are both served by London Underground's Metropolitan line.

Winchmore Hill is a village in the parish of Penn, in Buckinghamshire, England. The village has a triangular green in the centre (on which a fête is held regularly). The houses around the green mainly date from the 20th century. The local village cricket team is Winchmore Hill Cricket Club, which has a large junior section with teams playing in local leagues.

Shardeloes is a large 18th-century country house located one mile west of Amersham in Buckinghamshire, England (grid reference SU937978). A previous manor house on the site was demolished and the present building constructed between 1758 and 1766 for William Drake, the Member of Parliament for Amersham. Shardeloes is a Grade I listed building.

Mop End is a small hamlet in the parish of Little Missenden, in Buckinghamshire, England. At the 2011 Census, the population of the hamlet was included in the civil parish of Amersham. It is best known as the location of the Amersham Field Centre sited at the National Grid substation in nearby woodland. In former times, Mop End was the location of an ancient Inn called The Griffin. In March 2020, Mop End appeared in a Google UK advertisement for the Pixel 4, featuring comedians Jack Whitehall and Michael Dapaah.

Coleshill (formerly Stoke) is a village and civil parish within Chiltern district in Buckinghamshire, England. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Amersham and 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Beaconsfield.

Amersham Town Football Club is a football club based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire England. The club are currently members of the Combined Counties League Division One and play at Spratleys Meadow.

London Tigers Football Club is a football club based in Greenford, in the London Borough of Ealing, England. Formed in 2006 as a merger of Kingsbury Town and London Tigers, they are currently members of the Middlesex County League Premier Division and play at Spratleys Meadow in Amersham.

Amersham Hospital is located in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. It is one of three hospitals in the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Beamond End is a small hamlet in the parish of Little Missenden (where the 2011 Census was included), in Buckinghamshire, England.The name is derived from the old French beau mont meaning "beautiful hill". The hamlet comprises a single road (called "Beamond End Lane"), around 25 residential properties, as well as a number of light industrial units and farm buildings. Whereas it was once possible to drive through to the nearby village Little Missenden, the road was closed off to through vehicular traffic in the early 2010s, and is now only directly accessible on foot or by cycle.

Holly Mount (originally Hollymount) is a detached house in Knotty Green in Buckinghamshire. It was designed by the English architect C.F.A. Voysey and was built between 1904 and 1907. It has been listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England since October 1973.

Little Missenden is a village and civil parish on the River Misbourne in Buckinghamshire, England. It is in the Chiltern Hills, about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Great Missenden and 3 miles (5 km) west of Amersham. The village lies on the River Misbourne in the Misbourne valley. The parish includes the villages of Holmer Green, Hyde Heath and Little Kingshill, and the hamlets of Beamond End, Brays Green, Mop End and Spurlands End. The 2011 Census recorded the population of the ward of Little Missenden, which includes Hyde Heath and Little Kingshill, as 2,234, albeit those other two villages in the ward are each larger than Little Missenden itself. The population of the entire parish was estimated as 6,490 in 2017, reflecting the inclusion of the much larger Holmer Green within the parish. The main London – Aylesbury road used to run through the centre of Little Missenden and past the two pubs – The Red Lion and The Crown. Early in the 19th century a new by-pass road was built to the north and this now forms part of the modern A413 road.

Alfriston School is a girls' special school in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. In March 2012 the school became an Academy. It takes girls from the age of 11 through to the age of 18 and has approximately 125 pupils. The school caters for girls with moderate learning difficulties and other special educational needs such as emotional and behavioural difficulties. The school takes girls as weekly boarders (i.e. Monday to Friday) and as day pupils. Alfriston School is one of several Buckinghamshire schools which host mobile phone masts. Contracts between Buckinghamshire County Council and various mobile phone operators generate an income of £145,000 per annum, of which about £59,000 comes from contracts for masts that are installed in schools.
