Antietam Academy is a public high school and middle school in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, United States. The school consists of an alternative program specializing in behavioral as well as academic disciplines for students in grades 6–12. It was formally renamed in 2003 after being known as the Alternative Center since its introduction in 1977. Up until 2011, its middle school and high school components were housed in two different locations, both in Hagerstown, Maryland. One. In January 2011 its new facility was opened in Hagerstown ass. That is now home to both levels. It was built about 1865, and is a two-story five-bay brick dwelling with a formal facade and a central entrance. The house features Greek Revival detailing, with some Gothic Revival influence in interior trim.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Funkstown Historic District is a national historic district at Funkstown, Washington County, Maryland, United States. The district includes 217 contributing buildings, one contributing structure, and three contributing sites. The National Road forms Funkstown's main street and shaped in a significant way the appearance of the town. Funkstown's early and most extensive development was along this route, including the town's oldest known dwelling, the Jacob Funk House, built by the founder in 1769. Other properties are of sided log, stone, or brick construction of mixed residential and commercial use, dating from the late 18th century through the mid 20th century.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Rose Hill Cemetery, located in Hagerstown, Maryland, is the oldest public cemetery in Washington County Maryland. The cemetery features over 102 acres of burial space and is the final resting place of over 43,000 individuals. The cemetery was established on land originally granted to the Wroe family by King George III in the 1700s. Dr. John A. Wroe and his wife purchased the land. Their home was on a hill called Wroe's Hill. In 1865, William T. Hamilton and a group of individuals established the Hagerstown Cemetery Association and in 1866 purchased land needed to establish the area's first public cemetery and chartered the cemetery as Rose Hill Cemetery of Hagerstown.

The Washington Confederate Cemetery is a Confederate Cemetery in Hagerstown, Maryland. Its burials include Confederate dead from such nearby battles as Antietam, Gettysburg, Monocacy and South Mountain. Less than 20 percent of its burials are identified. It was established in 1871 as a section of the Rose Hill Cemetery (Maryland).

Valentia is a historic home located at Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, United States. It is a large 2+1⁄2-story L-shaped stone farmhouse, facing south overlooking Antietam Creek. The house features a flat-roofed, one-story porch covers the south door and flanking windows and is supported by four Doric columns resting on stone piers. Also on the property is a small tenant house and Miller's House, constructed of the same stone as the main house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Western Maryland Railway No. 202 is a preserved 4-6-2 "pacific" steam locomotive built in 1912 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Western Maryland Railway. The locomotive was used for pulling various passenger trains of the WM over the course of 40 years. In 1938, the locomotive was refitted with Walschaert valve gear, replacing its original Baker valve gear. In 1947, it was converted to burn oil and stayed east of Cumberland after the conversion. No. 202 pulled its last revenue freight assignment in 1952, and it was subsequently retired and donated "to the children of Hagerstown", to be displayed in City Park, Hagerstown, Maryland. It is one of only two surviving Western Maryland steam locomotives and the only surviving mainline WM steam locomotive.No. 202 spent so much time being exposed to the elements and vandals, that it was cosmetically restored in 2008 for a cleaner appearance. However, the locomotive is still remains in City Park, as of 2022. No. 202 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
