Ashfield Arena is a sporting ground located in Ashfield, a northeastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is the home ground of Football West State League Division One side Ashfield Sports Club. It became the home ground of the Perth Glory FC women's team from the 2014 season onwards. Similarly, the Perth Glory Youth team have played their home games there for the National Premier Leagues WA and the National Youth League (Australia) competitions since the 2015–16 National Youth League season. In 2016 Ashfield Reserve was named as the preferred site for the State Football Centre. Ashfield Reserve, the current home of All Flags State League side Ashfield Sports Club, was considered the most suitable option. Twigger said: Football West will work closely with local, State and Commonwealth governments, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure the best possible outcome for the sport and the Ashfield Reserve precinct Football West Chief Executive Officer James Curtis said the facility would serve football's needs as well as contributing greatly to the local community and the city's growing eastern corridor, saying further: The location is easily accessible, given its proximity to the Perth Stadium, Perth CBD, Tonkin and Roe Highways, the Perth Airport and the adjacent Ashfield Train Station

Ashfield Sports Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in the suburb of Ashfield, Perth, Western Australia, and founded in 1970. The club will compete in 2022 in the Football West State League Division 2.

The Railway Museum, also known as the Rail Transport Museum, is situated in Bassendean, Western Australia. It is run by the Western Australian division of the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS), which is called Rail Heritage WA. In the early days of operation it had in places been known as the Western Australian Rail Transport Museum, and more recently, Rail Transport Museum. On the internet and social media, it has been referred in variants with qualifiers of the location name such as the Bassendean Rail Museum and Rail Heritage Museum Bassendean.The standard name is currently utilised as the Railway Museum.

Ashfield is a residential suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the Town of Bassendean. The suburb is located along the Swan River. The Midland line passes through the suburb and it is serviced by the Ashfield railway station. It is home to Ashfield Reserve, which also contains Ashfield Arena. It also contains Ashfield Flats, the largest river flat remaining in the Perth metropolitan area.The housing was originally established as small collection of railway houses near the train line. In the late 1950s early 1960s the area experienced a small boom of housing (400 houses) mostly built by the then State Housing Commission partly funded by the sale of half the properties to individuals. In the late 1960s the State Housing started to reacquire some of those properties. During the late 1990s the suburb underwent a revamp driven by the State Housing Commission, now called the Department of Housing. This occurred in conjunction with the infill sewage project which was created to convert Perth homes from septic tanks and leach drains to mains sewage. They bulldozed houses on land where they had adjoining properties. For every three houses removed five to seven were built in their place. The majority of these were sold off to low income and first home buyers. The Department of Housing still owns about 22% of the houses (as opposed to their stated goal of 10%), and uses their housing stock as subsidised rental accommodation. The deepest point of the Swan River upstream from Melville Water occurs in Ashfield. It was in this area the farthest upstream recording of sharks occurred with one being caught in the late 1970s.

Ron Courtney Island is a small uninhabited manmade river island in the Swan River, located in the suburb of Ascot in Perth, Western Australia. It was named in honour of the first chairman of the Swan River Conservation Board, which was formed in 1959.The island was formed in 1969 after a channel was cut through Garvey Park in an effort to alleviate the erosion caused by the flow of the Swan River. It has a stand of flooded gum and a fringing community of shorerush and lake club rush. The understorey is predominantly exotic grass species which gives the island a parkland character. It is one of only four islands in the lower Swan River, the others being Kuljak Island, Heirisson Island and the island in Elizabeth Quay.

The Bassendean Fire Station, at 10-14 Parker Street, Bassendean, Western Australia, is a historic fire station. It is a one-storey brick and tile building, with elements of Inter-War Stripped Classical architecture styling, from its construction in 1934 and expansion in 1969–71. The listing included outbuildings and a ladder training tower at the rear.The station closed in 2013, after the Department of Fire and Emergency Services moved services to Kiara.It was listed by the Heritage Council on the State Register of Western Australia.

Bassendean railway station is a Transperth station located in Bassendean, 10.8 kilometres (6.7 mi) north-east of Perth railway station, on the Midland Line.

The Town of Bassendean is a local government area in the northeastern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, 6 kilometres (4 mi) west of the industrial centre of Midland and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northeast of Perth's central business district. The Town covers an area of 10.4 square kilometres (4.0 sq mi), maintains 97 km of roads and had a population of approximately 15,000 as at the 2016 Census. The Town of Bassendean is a member of the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council.

Bassendean (once referred to as West Guildford) is a north-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its local government area is the Town of Bassendean.It is also the name of the sand dune system on the Swan Coastal Plain known as the Bassendean Dune System.

Redcliffe Bridge is a traffic bridge which carries Tonkin Highway across the Swan River between the Perth suburbs of Ascot and Bayswater. It is named after Redcliffe, which is a nearby suburb. Designed by Maunsell & Partners and built by Thiess Contractors, construction of the bridge started in 1986. The bridge was constructed using an incremental launch technique, and cost A$15 million to complete. It was officially opened on 16 April 1988. The bridge is 271 metres (889 ft) long, with five spans and a pre-stressed concrete deck 34 metres (112 ft) wide, supporting six lanes of traffic. The structure of the bridge is that of a hollow box girder, with the outer sides of the deck supported by special Y-beams.
