Hampstead is a town in Carroll County in the U.S. state of Maryland. The population was 6,323 at the 2010 census.

North Carroll High School was a public high school located in Hampstead, Maryland, United States, in Carroll County. The North Carroll High School building is located at 1400 Panther Drive. The school was one of three county schools that were closed in 2016 due to declining enrollment. The school mascot was a panther, and the school colors were red, white, and black. The school was a part of the Carroll County Public Schools system. The principal was Thomas Clowes.

Upperco (formerly known as Arcadia) is an unincorporated community in Baltimore and Carroll counties, Maryland, United States. The population as of the 2000 census for zip code 21155, part of which covers Upperco, was 2349. It is adjacent to Maryland Route 30, between the much larger towns of Reistertown and Hampstead. The community's fairground is home to several annual public events, such as shows held by the Maryland Steam Historical Society—featuring steam engines, antique cars, tractor pulls, and a flea market—and fundraising events for the local volunteer fire company, including a demolition derby, bluegrass music festival, and yuletide village.In 2017, the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company was consolidated with the Boring Volunteer Fire Company of Boring, Maryland, located two miles away, due to both companies struggling to fully staff their operations. Now known as the Upperco Voluntary Fire Company, members began operating out of the old Arcadia location, pending the construction of a new facility at a nearby location. The U.V.F.C. broke ground on the new facility in July 2021, with a budget of $8 million.

Isaac Hoffman House is a historic home located at Houcksville, Carroll County, Maryland, United States. It was built about 1850 and is a two-story gable-roofed stuccoed stone farm house with a four bay façade with a one-story full length porch. Also on the property is a stone springhouse. The house is unusual for retaining elements of Pennsylvania German architecture at such a late date.The Isaac Hoffman House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Manchester is a small incorporated town in northeastern Carroll County, Maryland, United States, located just south of the Pennsylvania state line and north of Baltimore. The population was 4,808 at the 2010 census.Manchester was incorporated in 1833 and is the second oldest incorporated area in Carroll County after Westminster, which was incorporated in 1818. The town was originally formed as a part of Baltimore County, before the creation of Carroll County in 1837. It is governed by an elected mayor and an elected five-person town council. Manchester lies in the humid continental climate region, marked by cold and snowy winters but humid and hot summers. This climate is ideal for growing farmed crops in the summer such as tomatoes, sweet corn and squash, leaving much of the outlying area marked with large tracts of farmland. Manchester is a rural commuting town where residents travel to work in the greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area and the greater Washington Metropolitan Area.

Alesia is located by the old Baltimore and Hanover Railroad near the intersections of: Alesia Rd & Alesia To Lineboro Rd and Alesia Rd & Hoffmanville Rd.

Mt Pleasant is a historic home and farm located in Woodstock, Howard County, Maryland. The land grant of the property was surveyed by Patuxent Ranger Thomas Browne as "Ranter's Ridge" in 1692. The farm house is built around an original log cabin. In 1838 Samuel Brown (1810-1880) aggregates properties into a 232-acre farm. This included 192 acres of the Hammonds Ridge tract from Thomas Herbert and in 1859 an additional 40 acres from his brother John from the Good Fellowship tract. During this time a second story to the log cabin and an addition on the north side was constructed. In addition to farming Samuel Brown was elected to three consecutive terms as commissioner of the Howard District of Anne Arundel County starting in 1846.During the Civil War the farm was the hiding place of 1st Maryland Infantry, CSA General Bradley Tyler Johnson, and munitions storage for the nearby Doughoregan Manor. In 1993, the farm became the home of the Howard County Conservancy, a private land trust.
