Boring is an unincorporated community in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, located at the intersection of Old Hanover and Pleasant Grove Roads, approximately five miles (8 km) north of Reisterstown. A stop on the Western Maryland Railroad, it consists of about 40 houses, the Boring Methodist Church, the Boring Post Office (ZIP Code: 21020), and formerly the Boring Volunteer Fire Company.

Hampstead School is a historic school located at Hampstead, Carroll County, Maryland. It is a two-story brick building with Tudor Revival stylistic elements, constructed in 1919 and expanded in 1939 It has a U shape with a 1919 rectangular main block and an L-shaped rear addition constructed in 1939. It is a good example of centralized schools that Maryland's early-20th century school consolidation created. It housed students from first grade through high school until 1956. The property retains many of its outbuildings and is operated as an apartment building for adults 62 and over. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Mt Pleasant is a historic home and farm located in Woodstock, Howard County, Maryland. The land grant of the property was surveyed by Patuxent Ranger Thomas Browne as "Ranter's Ridge" in 1692. The farm house is built around an original log cabin. In 1838 Samuel Brown (1810-1880) aggregates properties into a 232-acre farm. This included 192 acres of the Hammonds Ridge tract from Thomas Herbert and in 1859 an additional 40 acres from his brother John from the Good Fellowship tract. During this time a second story to the log cabin and an addition on the north side was constructed. In addition to farming Samuel Brown was elected to three consecutive terms as commissioner of the Howard District of Anne Arundel County starting in 1846.During the Civil War the farm was the hiding place of 1st Maryland Infantry, CSA General Bradley Tyler Johnson, and munitions storage for the nearby Doughoregan Manor. In 1993, the farm became the home of the Howard County Conservancy, a private land trust.

North Carroll High School was a public high school located in Hampstead, Maryland, United States, in Carroll County. The North Carroll High School building is located at 1400 Panther Drive. The school was one of three county schools that were closed in 2016 due to declining enrollment. The school mascot was a panther, and the school colors were red, white, and black. The school was a part of the Carroll County Public Schools system. The principal was Thomas Clowes.

Isaac Hoffman House is a historic home located at Houcksville, Carroll County, Maryland, United States. It was built about 1850 and is a two-story gable-roofed stuccoed stone farm house with a four bay façade with a one-story full length porch. Also on the property is a stone springhouse. The house is unusual for retaining elements of Pennsylvania German architecture at such a late date.The Isaac Hoffman House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Montrose Mansion and Chapel, originally known as Montrose Mansion, is a historic home located on the campus of Camp Fretterd Military Reservation of the Maryland Army National Guard in Reisterstown, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a two-story neoclassical stone house constructed originally about 1826 by William Patterson who gave it to his grandson, Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte as a wedding present. By the middle of the 19th century, a large two-story wing was added, then a mansard roof with round-top dormers, a cupola, and a bracketed cornice with pendants was added about 1880. The chapel was completed in 1855 and is a rectangular structure of stone with Greek Revival decorative detailing. It features a three-story bell and entrance tower.The mansion and tower are separated by about a quarter of a mile. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Taylor-Manning-Leppo House is a historic home located near Finksburg, Carroll County, Maryland. The original section was built about 1860, and is a 2 ½-story log and frame bank house. It rests on a stone foundation, with an exposed full story in height across the front of the building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
