Houthem-Sint Gerlach railway station

Château St. Gerlach, formerly St. Gerlach Monastery or Sint-Gerlachusstift, is located in the church village of Houthem in Valkenburg aan de Geul in the valley of the Geul river, in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. It was originally built in the twelfth century as a monastery of canons and functioned from the fourteenth century as noble ladies convent. In the nineteenth century, the monastery was converted into a castle-like country house. It includes a rectangular main building, a coach house and a castle farm . Since 1997, the complex at Joseph Corneli Allee has been a luxurious hotel, restaurant and conference center established. The building complex, including the Sint-Gerlachus Church and the surrounding gardens, includes several national monuments and is part of the Buitengoed Geul & Maas.

Berg is located on the plateau of Margraten and used to be long to the Chapter of Saint Servatius.The St Monulphus and Gondulphus Church is a three-aisled church made out of chalk stone. It was built between 1931 and 1933.Berg was home to 314 people in 1840. Until 1982, Berg and the neighbouring hamlet of Terblijt constituted the municipality of Berg en Terblijt, which also covered the small hamlets of Geulhem and Vilt.

De Lindenhorst is a defunct restaurant in Valkenburg, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1983 and retained that rating until 1993.Head chef in the time of the Michelin star was Ida Kleijnen.Owner Ida Kleijnen sold the restaurant in 1994 to her son Paul Keijdener. The same day, they learned the restaurant had lost its Michelin star.

Vilt is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg, within the municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul. It is located on the top of the Cauberg. The village was first mentioned in the 14th century as Velt, and means field. Vilt was home to 164 people in 1840.Vilt does not have its own church, and is a part of parish of Berg, but used have a primary school. The school closed in 2018.The village also has several associations, including a football club.

The Groeve Einde Plenkertweg is a marl quarry and geological monument in South Limburg, Netherlands, located in the municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul. This underground limestone quarry is situated in the hamlet of Plenkert, west of Valkenburg, along Plenkertstraat. The quarry is located at the northwestern edge of the Polferbos forest on the northern edge of the Plateau of Margraten, transitioning into the Geuldal valley. Here, the plateau descends steeply several meters. Approximately 600 meters to the west lies the Viltergroeve quarry, about 30 meters to the west is the Pompstation Heytgracht, approximately 45 meters to the southwest is the Carolusgroeve, and around 250 meters to the east are the Roman Catacombs and the Heidegroeve.

The Kruitmolen (English: Powder mill, Limburgish: Polfermeule) is a watermill located on the Plenkertstraat 82 in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Netherlands. Build in 1820 along the Geul river, the watermill functioned as powder mill until 1851 and temporarily became a paper mill between 1875 and 1884. Since 1887 it is part of a brewery where it currently still forms a part of the electrical supply system. The mill is a rijksmonument since January 24, 1984 and is part of the Top 100 Dutch heritage sites.

De Valkenier (English: The falconer) was an amusement park in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Netherlands. The attractions focused mostly on families with children below the age of twelve. Founded by Jan Albert Otermans in 1934 under the name Ontspanningsoord Natuurbad Valkenburg (English: Recreational natural pool Valkenburg) it was the oldest amusement park in the Benelux countries. Starting with a rowing pond with a playground and pool, the park added attractions over the years and slowly grew into a modern amusement park. A rollercoaster and other mechanised entertainment was introduced in the 1970s and 1980s and the name of the park was changed to De Valkenier.

The Cauberg is a hill in Valkenburg aan de Geul, a town in the South Limburg region of the Netherlands. The hill played an important role in the early development of tourism in Valkenburg. Today, several major tourist attractions are situated on or nearby Cauberg. The hill's fame is mainly due to the many cycling races and championships that were held here. The length of the climb is around 1,200 metres (0.7 mi), with a maximum grade of 12%.

Prinses Juliana is a defunct restaurant located in Valkenburg aan de Geul in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one or two Michelin stars in the period 1958–2006.The last head chef was Andy Brauers.The importance of the restaurant is found not only in the food that it produced, but also in the chefs that it trained. Many Michelin starred chefs started their career or did part of their training here. Young chefs that worked at Prinses Juliana include Cas Spijkers, Margo Reuten, Nico Boreas, Michel Lambermon, Erik van Loo and Jeroen Granneman.
