Dutch Island Light is a historic lighthouse on Dutch Island off Jamestown, Rhode Island.In 1825 the federal government acquired 6 acres (2.4 ha) at the southern end of the island, and on January 1, 1827, Dutch Island Light was established to mark the west passage of Narragansett Bay and to aid vessels entering Dutch Island Harbor. The first 30-foot (9.1 m) tower was built of stones found on the island. The government constructed a new 42-foot (13 m) brick tower in 1857 with a fog bell added in 1878.

The Conanicut Battery is a colonial and 20th century military battery in Jamestown, Rhode Island, west of Beaver Tail Road. The site offers a commanding view of the West Passage of Narragansett Bay. During the American Revolutionary War, local militia constructed an earthen battery on the site. The British occupied Jamestown later that year and took over the site, occupying the space until August 1778 when the French fleet arrived. Its principal surviving feature is an earthworks measuring about 150 feet (46 m) long and 75 feet (23 m) wide. The site is marked by a plaque placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1931. During the early 20th century, the U.S. military built large partially underground defensive batteries in the area, notably Fort Getty and Fort Burnside. The 22-acre site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is now owned by the town. The Friends of Conanicut Battery and the Jamestown Historical Society are active in preserving the fort.

Dutch Island is an island lying west of Conanicut Island at an entrance to Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island, United States. It is part of the town of Jamestown, Rhode Island, and has a land area of 0.4156 km² (102.7 acres). It was uninhabited as of the United States Census, 2000. The island was fortified from the American Civil War through World War II and was known as Fort Greble from 1898 to 1947.

Fort Kearny was a coastal defense fort in the Saunderstown area of Narragansett, Rhode Island from 1901 to 1943. It was a prisoner-of-war camp for German prisoners in 1945. It is now the Narragansett Bay Campus of the University of Rhode Island. In many sources it is spelled Fort Kearney.

The Artillery Park (also known as the Churchyard Cemetery and Historical Cemetery 2) is a historic cemetery at North Road and Narragansett Avenue in Jamestown, Rhode Island. It is located at a high point on the southern part of Conanicut Island. The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Jamestown Museum is a local history museum which tells the history of Jamestown, Rhode Island and is run by the Jamestown Historical Society. The Jamestown Historical Society founded the museum in the current building in 1971. The building was originally as a one-room school dating from 1885, which later served as the town library from 1898 to 1971. The museum was extensively renovated in 2008. The Jamestown Historical Society also operates several other historic building museums, such as the Jamestown Windmill (1787).

Jamestown Art Center (JAC) is a non-profit arts organization with a gallery, art studios, education facilities, and event space in a renovated boat repair shop, located at 18 Valley Street in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The organization's non-profit mission is to engage, enrich and inspire the community through extraordinary arts and educational experiences. The JAC is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, an Executive Director, and a staff of administrators, educators and volunteers. It is supported by philanthropic contributions and a membership program that includes supporters and affiliated artists.The Jamestown Arts Center presents free art exhibitions in its galleries year-round, as well as outdoor sculptures and murals at its site, and a Biennial Outdoor Arts Experience exhibition of outdoor artworks throughout the town of Jamestown RI. Exhibitions have included the work of internationally exhibited artists such as Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Aboudia, Leslie Dill, Edwin Schlossberg, and Glenn Ligon. The JAC offers arts education for people of all ages, providing a year-round schedule of classes, camps, and workshops for children, teens, and adults.

Horsehead/Marbella is an historic summer house at 240 Highland Drive in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Occupying a spectacular setting on a southerly-projecting peninsula, this Shingle style house and carriage house were designed by Charles L. Bevins and built for industrialist Joseph Wharton in the 1880s. It is also notable as an early example of the lower-key architectural styles associated with Jamestown's summer community, differentiating it from the more elaborate summer estates developed in nearby Newport.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It continues to be owned by Wharton's descendants.

The John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge is a national wildlife refuge of the United States, located along the Narrow River on the southern coast of Rhode Island.

Conanicut Island is an island in Narragansett Bay in the American state of Rhode Island. The second-largest in the Bay, it is connected on the east to Newport on Aquidneck Island by the Claiborne Pell Bridge, commonly known as the Newport Bridge, and on the west to North Kingstown on the mainland via the Jamestown-Verrazano Bridge. The town of Jamestown comprises the entire island. The U.S. Census Bureau reported a land area of 24.46 km2 (9.44 sq mi) and a population of 5,622 in 2000. A tombolo connects the southern part of Conanicut to an extension of the island to the southwest.
