Gallt y Wenallt

Llyn Gwynant is a lake in Snowdonia, Wales. Llyn Gwynant lies on the River Glaslyn, in the Nant Gwynant valley, and is about 1¼ miles (2 km) north east of Llyn Dinas; the village of Bethania lies between them. Snowdon lies 2 miles (3 km) to the north west. The lake is natural, having been formed by glacial action and is 120 acres (50 hectares) in size. It is a popular place for canoeing and kayaking with easy access from the A498 road which runs along its south bank. It was used as a filming location in the 2003 film 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life'. The view towards Llyn Gwynant and Moel Hebog is one of the most photographed in Snowdonia.

Cwm Dyli is the location of a hydro-electric power station on the southern flank of the Snowdon range in North Wales. At the time it was built, it was the largest hydro-electric power station in the United Kingdom. It is Britain's oldest power station, and is believed to be one of the oldest Grid-connected hydro-electric stations in the world.

Pen-y-Pass is a mountain pass in Snowdonia, Gwynedd, north-west Wales. It is a popular location from which to walk up Snowdon, as three of the popular routes (the Miners Track, the Pyg Track and the ascent via Crib Goch) can be started here. Glyder Fawr, to the north, is also accessible from here. Situated at the high point of the Llanberis Pass at an elevation of 359 metres (1,178 ft) – about a third of the height of Snowdon – the road was built in the 1830s to allow ore from the mines on Snowdon to be transported to Llanberis. It would be taken down the Miners Track to a store-house at Pen-y-Pass first. Previously, the miners had had to move the ore over the Snowdon summit and down to Beddgelert, which is located at around a third the height of Snowdon. The Llanberis pass road extends beyond Pen-y-Pass to join the Beddgelert-to-Capel Curig road at the Pen-y-Gwryd hotel. That notable climbing hotel was used as a base by Sir John Hunt, Baron Hunt and his team whilst training for the successful 1953 expedition to Mount Everest and equipment and autographs from that and other expeditions may be seen in the Everest Room. The former Gorphwysfa Hotel at Pen-y-Pass is now a youth hostel, bar and café operated by YHA, and opposite is an information centre and café and a Snowdonia National Park-run car park. There is also a car park half way down Llanberis Pass in Nant Peris village as well as others in Llanberis village. There is a park and ride bus service to Pen-y-pass car park, which is the hub of the year-round Sherpa bus network provided by Express Motors and GHA Coaches. This service links Pen-y-Pass to Llanberis, Capel Curig, Betws-y-Coed, Beddgelert, Porthmadog, Rhyd Ddu and Waunfawr.

Lliwedd Bach is a top of Y Lliwedd in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. It is the last "top" on the main ridge of Y Lliwedd, the other being Y Lliwedd East Peak. A broad ridge at around 580m carries on northwards until the subsidiary summit of Gallt y Wenallt is reached. The summit is unmarked and offers good views of Y Lliwedd's cliffs, Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) and Crib Goch.

Llyn Llydaw (from the Welsh meaning Brittany lake) is a natural lake in Snowdonia National Park on the flanks of Snowdon, Wales' highest mountain. This long thin lake has formed in a cwm about one-third of the way up the mountain. It is one of the most visited lakes in the United Kingdom. Thousands of people every year visit Snowdon and many walk past this lake on the Miners' Track.

Y Lliwedd East Peak is the twin top of Y Lliwedd in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. It is only 5 metres shorter than the main summit of Y Lliwedd. The summit marked by a small pile of stones, the views being similar to Y Lliwedd, except for Gallt y Wenallt being in view.

Llyn Cwm-y-ffynnon is a lake in Snowdonia, below the summit of Moel Berfedd in Cwmffynnon. The lake's original name was Fynnon Mymbyr as outlined in Llywelyn ap Iorwerth's charter of 1198. As the name suggests, the lake nestles in a short valley, a cwm, high above the Pen-y-Gwryd hotel. The lake is the source of the Nantygwryd (originally Y Mymbyr), river which in Welsh translates to Pen-y-Gwryd. Prior to 1198 the name Gwryd did not exist in the Mymbyr Valley or Dyffryn Mymbyr. This would suggest that the name "Gwryd" has appeared at a later date for whatever reason, for which there is limited data. The river which flows from here forms part of the county boundary between Gwynedd and Conwy county borough.

Arfon is a constituency of the Senedd. It was created for the former Assembly's 2007 election. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Nant Gwynant (also spelt Nantgwynant) is a valley in northern Wales. The A498 road descends 600 feet (180 m) into the valley in about two miles (3 km) from Pen-y-Gwryd; it follows the Nant Cynnyd, the Afon Glaslyn and alongside Llyn Gwynant, then beside the Nant Gwynant river to Llyn Dinas and passing below Dinas Emrys to Beddgelert. The road continues through the Aberglaslyn Pass to Porthmadog.

Y Lliwedd is a mountain, connected to Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. Its summit lies 898 metres (2,946 ft) above sea level. The eastern flanks are steep cliffs rising above Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw. Y Lliwedd is the most conspicuous of the peaks for those who approach Snowdon via the Miners' and Pyg tracks. Few that summit Snowdon continue over to Y Lliwedd as the challenge of Wales' highest peak is enough, leaving Y Lliwedd quiet and peaceful even when queues are forming at the summit of Snowdon. Hikers and mountaineers often pass over Y Lliwedd when walking the Snowdon Horseshoe. The noted British climber George Mallory undertook many of his early climbs here. It was also the site of considerable training activity for the 1953 British Everest Expedition. The north face of Y Lliwedd was explored in the late 19th century and in 1909 was the subject of the first British climbing guide, The Climbs on Lliwedd by J. M. A. Thomson and A. W. Andrews. Two subsidiary peaks of Y Lliwedd are listed as Nuttalls: Lliwedd Bach 818 metres (2,684 ft): SH628532 and Y Lliwedd East Peak 893 metres (2,930 ft): SH623532.

Plas Gwynant is an educational resort in Snowdonia, Wales. This country estate also includes a woodland and riverside walks, as well as a parkland and 19-century garden set. It was built and developed by Daniel Vawdry in 1803. Today, the resort is owned by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, and most primary schools in Sandwell visit it on a yearly basis, providing skills and a good experience. West Bromwich Mountaineering Club renovated a disused barn in the grounds and have used it as their climbing hut since the early 1960s. The gardens and parkland are listed at Grade II on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.Plas Gwynant also became the home of historian James Anthony Froude, who arrived there with his wife in 1850. An account cited that notable figures such as Max Muller, Matthew Arnold, Arthur Clough, and Richard Powles spend their time with him there during spring and summer.

Crib Goch is described as a "knife-edged" arête in the Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, Wales. The name means "red ridge" in the Welsh language. The highest point on the arête is 923 metres (3,028 ft) above sea level. All routes which tackle Crib Goch are considered mountaineering routes in winter or scrambles in summer—meaning that they must cross "graded territory" as defined in Steve Ashton's Scrambles in Snowdonia. The easiest of these lines (the ‘bad step’ part of the route) is given a scrambling grade of Grade 1 (the most difficult being Grade 3—routes more difficult than Grade 3 are considered rock climbs).
