Mobile Bay jubilee

The Montrose Historic District is a historic district comprising fifteen historically significant buildings in the community of Montrose, Alabama. The district is almost entirely residential, with the exception of the 1890 Montrose Post Office. Montrose is located on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, and several homes in the district occupy bayfront lots. Nine of the homes in the district were designed in the Creole cottage style, a vernacular architectural style popular in the Gulf Coast states. The Creole cottage homes in the district all feature front facades with five bays and recessed full-length front porches supported by square or chamfered columns. Many of the houses were built as summer homes for residents of Mobile, for whom Montrose was a popular vacation destination.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 3, 1976.

Montrose, also known as Sibley City, is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States along the eastern shore of Mobile Bay.Montrose is part of the Daphne–Fairhope–Foley Micropolitan Statistical Area. Montrose has two sites included on the National Register of Historic Places, the Henry Stuart House and the Montrose Historic District.

Central Baldwin is a colloquial term referring to an area of Baldwin County, Alabama along Alabama State Highway 59. The area begins at the Interstate 10 exit in Loxley, Alabama including Robertsdale, Alabama and ending with Summerdale, Alabama. The unofficial boundary is generally considered to be the public school district served by Robertsdale High School. The term began to be used by most people in the area with the creation of Central Baldwin Middle School in the late 1990s. Although students in Summerdale attend Foley High School rather than Robertsdale High School it is generally considered a part of the Central Baldwin region.

Eastern Shore is the geographic eastern shoreline of Mobile Bay in southwest Alabama. It extends from just north of Interstate 10 to the southeastern end of the bay near Weeks Bay. Since there is no official boundary set for the "Eastern Shore" its usage is subject to change. However, broadly speaking, the area is bounded by U.S. Highway 31 to the north, U.S. Highway 98 to the south, State Route 181 to the east and Mobile Bay to the west.

Seacliff is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States.

The Texas is a historic house in Daphne, Alabama, U.S.. It was built as a hotel by William L. Howard in 1835. In 1894, it was purchased by William Dryer. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 20, 1998.

Tolstoy Park (also known as the Henry Stuart House and the Hermit House) is a historic residence in Montrose, Alabama. The house was built by Henry Stuart, an Englishman who had emigrated to the United States as a child. Stuart was living in Nampa, Idaho, when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and advised to move to a warmer climate to live out his days. In 1923, he purchased 10 acres (4 ha) outside Fairhope, Alabama, which he named Tolstoy Park. Stuart began building a circular, domed hut in 1925, pouring each concrete block himself. Construction was completed in less than a year, although delayed by a hurricane in September 1926. The house is about 14 feet (4.2 m) in diameter and sunk 2 feet (61 cm) into the ground. Six top-hinged windows circle the building, and there were two skylights in the roof that are now permanently closed. Stuart sought to live a simple life, growing much of his own food and weaving rugs on a loom he brought from Idaho. He kept a guestbook for visitors to sign; notably, lawyer Clarence Darrow visited the hut six times. Stuart left Alabama in 1944, moving to Oregon to live with his son, where he died in 1946. Today, the hut and a large oak tree are all that remain of Stuart's estate; a parking lot for a real estate office surrounds the hut. A novel based on Stuart's life, The Poet of Tolstoy Park, was published in 2005. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Methodist Episcopal Church, South (also known as the Old Daphne Methodist Church) is a historic church at 1608 Old County Road in Daphne, Alabama. It was built in 1858 in a Greek Revival style. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.The building was constructed on land originally owned by Mr. and Mrs. William Howard since 1833. Another building may have stood on the site at an earlier date, since the associated graveyard contains markers dating back to 1847. The church and graveyard was purchased by the Methodist Episcopal Church from the Howards for $5 (equivalent to about $110 today) in 1869. The church changed hands once over the years, and the belfry was damaged on two different occasions, 1906 and 1916, by storms. The church was severely damaged by Hurricane Frederic in 1979, and has since been handed over to a local preservation group.

The Grand Bay Savanna- Little River Road Tract Addition was acquired with financial support from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2004, through the National Coastal Wetlands program. This tract serves as an addition to the Grand Bay Savanna Addition Tract State Nature Preserve acquired in 1996. The addition consists of 113 acres of piney flatwoods south of Grand Bay, Alabama.

The Daphne Civic Center is a multipurpose convention and performing arts center located in Daphne, Alabama, United States (a suburb of Mobile). The Center features 11,931 square feet (1,108 m2) of exhibit and meeting space in the main exhibit hall, which also features a 37-by-70-foot permanent stage. For concerts, the exhibit hall can seat 1,700; for banquets, 900; receptions, 1,247; and in a classroom setup, 676. The exhibit hall's arched roof rises up to 24 feet (7 m). There are five meeting rooms totaling 4,683 square feet (435 m2), plus a circular, 4,900-square-foot (460 m2) lobby. The lobby is where the Civic Center's concession stands and restrooms are located.

WXQW (660 AM) is a sports radio station licensed to Fairhope, Alabama, and serving the Mobile metropolitan area. The station is owned by Cumulus Media with studios and offices on Dauphin Street in Midtown Mobile. WXQW simulcasts many of the Alabama-centered sports shows from sister station WJOX-FM in Birmingham. Nights and weekends, it carries ESPN Radio programming. By day, WXQW broadcasts at 10,000 watts non-directional, covering parts of Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle. But at night, it reduces power to 19 watts to avoid interfering with other stations on 660 kHz, a clear-channel frequency. WXQW's transmitter is on Pollard Road at Newman Road in Daphne, Alabama. The station began as a country & western outlet in 1964, later broadcasting contemporary Christian music, children's radio, urban contemporary gospel, all-news radio from CNN Headline News, blues music, and syndicated talk formats in its years on the air.

The United States Post Office in Fairhope, Alabama, is a historic United States Post Office building built in 1932, in the Italian Renaissance Revival architectural style. It currently houses the offices of the Fairhope Courier. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
