The Club DeLisa, also written Delisa or De Lisa, was an African-American nightclub and music venue in Chicago, Illinois. Located at 5521 South State Street (State Street and Garfield Avenue, on the South Side), it was possibly the most prestigious venue in the city, together with the Regal Theater and the Rhumboogie Café, the 800–seat Club DeLisa played a key role in the city's association with jazz, blues, rhythm and blues and soul music. It closed in February 1958, but was re-opened as The Club in 1966.

ACE Amandla Charter High School (formerly known as ACE Technical Charter High School), is a public 4–year charter high school located in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened for the 2004–2005 school year, the school is operated by Amandla Charter Schools. The name ACE stands for Architecture, Construction, and Engineering.

Garfield is an 'L' station on the CTA's Red Line. The station is located in the median of the Dan Ryan Expressway. It is located in the Fuller Park neighborhood. This is the Red Line's closest stop to the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry, although the museum is more than two miles away.

Garfield is an "L" station on the CTA's Green Line. It is situated at 320 E. Garfield Boulevard in the Washington Park neighborhood. It opened on October 12, 1892. This station is the southernmost Green Line station served by both of the Green Line's branches: south of Garfield, the Green Line splits into two branches, one terminating at Ashland/63rd, and one at Cottage Grove. Another Garfield on Garfield Boulevard, in the median of the Dan Ryan Expressway, serves the Red Line. During the closure of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line from May through October 2013, Garfield station served as the terminus of several temporary bus routes in order to mitigate the effects of the closure. Each of the bus routes transferred passengers from the sites of closed Red Line stations south of 69th street to Garfield station, where fares were waived while the Red Line remained closed.The station is close to the University of Chicago and is the closest 'L' station to the Museum of Science and Industry, although the museum is more than two miles away from the station. One station entrance is the oldest entrance on the CTA system. The entrance closed in 2000 and was filled in with cement in 2013. The front of the entrance remains. In June 2017, the University of Chicago announced plans to renovate the interior and reopen the former station entrance as a part of their Arts Block complex.

Washington Park is a community area on the South Side of Chicago which includes the 372 acre (1.5 km²) park of the same name, stretching east-west from Cottage Grove Avenue to the Dan Ryan Expressway, and north-south from 51st Street to 63rd. It is home to the DuSable Museum of African American History. The park was the proposed site of the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Aquatics Center in Chicago's bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympics.It and surrounding neighborhoods have gone through notable and often turbulent racial transitions.

State was a station on the Englewood Branch of the Chicago 'L'. The station opened on November 3, 1905 and closed on September 2, 1973 as part of a group of budget-related CTA station closings.

51st is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's "L" system, located in Chicago, Illinois and serving the Green Line. It is situated at 319 E 51st Street, three blocks east of State Street. It opened on August 28, 1892.

58th was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line in the Washington Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The station was located at 320-24 E. 58th Street. 58th opened on January 22, 1893, as part of the South Side Elevated Railroad's expansion to serve the World's Columbian Exposition. The station closed with the rest of the Green Line on January 9, 1994, to be rebuilt, but did not reopen with the rest of the Green Line on May 12, 1996, because of its close proximity to the Garfield station.

Jean Baptiste Point DuSable High School is a public four-year high school campus located in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. DuSable is owned by the Chicago Public Schools district. The school was named after Chicago's first permanent non-native settler, Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable. Constructed between 1931 and 1934, DuSable opened in February 1935. Since 2005, the school campus serves as home to two smaller schools; the Bronzeville Scholastic Institute and the Daniel Hale Williams Preparatory School of Medicine. Both of the schools use the DuSable name in an athletics context. The DuSable Leadership Academy was housed at the location until it closed after the 2015–16 school year. The school building was designated a Chicago Landmark on May 1, 2013.

Chicago Training School for Home and Foreign Missions was a training school in Chicago for missionaries associated with the Methodist Church. It was founded by Lucy Rider Meyer and her husband Josiah in 1885 and was described as "the largest training school of its kind in the country" and awarded the degree of Bachelor of Religious Service (BRS).Norman Wait Harris, a Chicago bank executive, was president of the school's board of trustees and donated land and buildings to the school.In 1930, the school was merged into the Garrett Biblical Institute in Evanston, Illinois, which later became the Garrett–Evangelical Theological Seminary.

Wentworth was a station on the Englewood Branch of the Chicago 'L'. The station opened on December 10, 1905, and closed on February 9, 1992. and demolished during the Green Line reconstruction of 1994–1996.

The Anthony Overton Elementary School is a historic school building at 221 E. 49th Street in the Grand Boulevard community area of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1963, the school was one of three prototype schools designed to relieve overcrowding in poor, majority black neighborhoods; it mainly served students from the nearby Robert Taylor Homes housing project. The school was named for Anthony Overton, a black business leader and founder of the Chicago Bee. Architects Perkins & Will designed the school in the mid-century modern style, which was chosen as a departure from institutional school buildings. The school was divided into three three-story sections to avoid the dominating impression of a single building; each section included large corner windows shaded by canopies and used colorful yellow brick to stand out from surrounding buildings. The school served students until 2013, when it was closed as part of wave of public school closings in Chicago.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 6, 2016.
