Belmont is a closed railway station on the Belmont railway line in New South Wales, Australia. The station opened in 1917 and closed on 2 January 1971.

Lake Macquarie Yacht Club (LMYC) is a yacht club located on Ada Street, Belmont, New South Wales, Australia. The club was founded in 1929 to cater for skiffs over 16 feet and combine both cruising and racing activities in its calendar of events. At a meeting on 2 October 1929 A. V. Toll was elected president; R. G. Gardiner, commodore; Dr Blumer, vice-commodore; and J. G. Biddlecombe, secretary and handicapper.At the annual general meeting in September 1933 members voted to erect a clubhouse at Belmont at a cost of £500.

Valentine FC is a semi-professional football club based in Valentine in the Hunter Region, New South Wales and is part of the Valentine Eleebana Football Club. Valentine have been promoted to the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW for 2016 with teams in First Grade, Under 23s, Under 19 and Under 17 divisions. Notable former players include Adam Griffiths, Giancarlo Gallifuoco and Daniel Bowles.

Belmont South is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located 21 kilometres (13 mi) southwest of Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie.

Belmont Hospital is an acute care public hospital servicing the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1968, it is the only public hospital in the Local Government Area and is located on Croudace Bay Road in the suburb of Belmont. The hospital is operated by the Hunter New England Local Health District. The hospital underwent a major $31.5 million redevelopment between 2003 and 2007 allowing it to expand the range of specialist services available.

Grecian was a sailing ship built in England in 1824. She was wrecked on Nine Mile Beach, New South Wales during a gale on 30 April 1864. Captain Grant lost his life.

Belmont North is a suburb of Greater Newcastle, City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located 18 kilometres (11 mi) southwest of Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. Belmont North has one primary school with around 250+ pupils.

Marks Point is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located 23 kilometres (14 mi) from Newcastle's central business district and forming a small peninsula extending into the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. The Aboriginal people, the Awabakal, were the first people in the area. The suburb is named after the Marks brothers, and is one of the oldest suburbs in the Lake Macquarie area. Local businesses in Marks Point include a marina, post office, two cafes, newsagency, hairdressing salon, take away and bowling club. There is also a Public School, child care centre and a community hall available for hire which backs onto the local soccer field. As of the 2006 census, 23.0% of homes in the northeast of the suburb were Housing Commission properties, compared to 2.8% in other parts of the suburb.Marks Point and nearby areas were until recently serviced by the nearby Belmont Airport (IATA Code – BEO) in the suburb's south, which has since been closed down for redevelopment. It is named after Charles Marks who had an orchard there.Early settlers Henry and Charles were brothers of Maurice Marks, an early settler in Belmont. Henry bought the land at the Point and he and Charles went into partnership in an orchard. In 1885 he sold this to Charles, who lived on at Marks Point until he died.The Marks brothers' orchard grew oranges and pineapples. In the 1920s there were still Chinese Market Gardens near the present Marks Point Public School. Charlie Hollis operated a slipway and marine business in Edith Street from 1954 to 1980, when it became Marks Point Marina.

The City of Lake Macquarie is a local government area in Greater Newcastle and part of the Hunter Region in New South Wales, Australia. It was proclaimed a city from 7 September 1984. Floraville is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia 17 kilometres (11 mi) from Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie and north of the town of Belmont. It has a school, which opened in 1967 and houses approximately 550 students.

Jewells known from opening until 4 November 1917 as Jewells Swamp is a closed railway platform on the Belmont railway line in New South Wales, Australia. The station opened on 2 January 1917 and closed on 18 April 1940

Lake Macquarie Airport (IATA: BEO, ICAO: YLMQ) (formerly Belmont Airport – ICAO: YPEC) is an airfield located in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Marks Point, 15 km (9.3 mi) south of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The airport is located on a narrow peninsula between the Pacific Highway and a shallow tidal inlet that forms the entrance to Lake Macquarie.
