The Ombudsman Institution (Turkish: Kamu Denetçiliği Kurumu) is a Turkish institution that examines and investigates complaints and submits recommendations about the conformity of the activities of the Government of Turkey with law and fairness under the respect for human rights. The institution is independent of the government and answers to the Parliament alone. The Ombudsman Institution evaluates complaints of both individuals and legal entities. Foreign nationals may also lodge complaints to the Ombudsman Institution.Its functioning is regulated by article 74 of the Constitution and by bill number 6328 of the Parliament from June 14, 2012. The office is accredited as Turkey's national human rights institution.

Kuğulu Park (Swan Park) is a 1 ha (2.5 acres) public park in the Çankaya neighborhood of Ankara, Turkey. The park is known for its swans (a symbol of Ankara), but also has ducks and geese. Its pond was renovated in 2012.In June 2013 Kuğulu's waterfowl (35 birds) were evacuated temporarily to protect them from tear gas exposure during the 2013 Turkish protests. The park was a major meeting point for protestors, and saw a Taksim Gezi Park-style encampment.The City of Vienna gave the park a gift of swans.

On 1 February 2013, a suicide bomber attacked the United States embassy in Ankara, Turkey, killing a security guard and wounding three others. The bombing was subsequently denounced as an act of terrorism by both Turkey and the United States.

The Swiss ambassador in Ankara is the official representative of the Government in Bern to the Government of Turkey.

Andrei Karlov, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, was assassinated by Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş, an off-duty Turkish police officer, at an art exhibition in Ankara, Turkey on the evening of 19 December 2016. The assassination took place after several days of protests in Turkey over Russian involvement in the Syrian Civil War and the battle over Aleppo.

The Iranian ambassador in Ankara is the official representative of the Government in Tehran to the Government of Turkey. The Persian embassy was established next to the Sublime Porte in 1852 (1230 years After the Hegira AH) and Hajji Mirza Ahmad Khan Khoi was appointed to the expedition and the resident minister. The Sheraton Ankara is a hotel and convention center in Ankara, Turkey. It is run by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts and is located in the Kavaklıdere quarter of central Ankara, near the city's central business district. The complex, which comprises a skyscraper (the hotel tower) and the adjacent convention center building, was opened in 1991. It was designed by the German architecture firm Gerkan, Marg and Partners. According to the architecture firm, the shape of the tower is inspired by a wine bottle, due to its location right next to the Kavaklıdere winery.With a total of 29 floors above ground and a structural height of 143 metres (469 ft) it was the tallest skyscraper in Ankara between 1991 and 2009, and the tallest skyscraper in the Central Anatolia Region between 1991 and 2006.

Pembe Köşk (Pink Villa) is an Ottoman-era house in the Çankaya district of Ankara, Turkey, which is the city's oldest villa and was the home of Turkish President İsmet İnönü from 1925 to 1973.İnönü purchased the villa in 1924 and it was used for strategic meetings by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as concerts, gallery openings, pool and chess tournaments and the city's first ball, on February 22, 1927. The building now houses a museum of İnönü's personal belongings and diplomatic photographs which is occasionally opened to the public.

Kavaklıdere is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Çankaya, Ankara Province, Turkey. Its population is 6,190 (2022). The name means "poplar stream" in Turkish.

Embassy of Russia in Ankara (Russian: Посольство России в Турции ; Turkish: Rusya'nın Ankara Büyükelçiliği) is the official diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey. The current ambassador is Alexei Yerkhov.

The Saudi ambassador in Ankara is the official representative of the Government in Riyadh to the Government of Turkey, concurrently he is accredited to Baku (Azerbaijan).

Iraqi–Turkish relations are foreign relations between Iraq and Turkey. From late 2011 relations between the two countries have undergone strained turbulence. The ambassador of Iraq in Ankara, Turkey, is Mr. Abdul Amir Kamil Abi Tabikh, who has been the representative of Iraq since 5 March 2009. The Iraqi mission in Turkey includes a defense attaché and commerce office in Ankara, and a general consulate in Istanbul. The Ambassador of Turkey in Baghdad, Iraq, is Derya Kanbay, who has been in office since 20 January 2007. The Turkish Embassy in Baghdad also possesses a commerce office.
