Penhale

Blue Anchor is a hamlet in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is in the civil parish of St Enoder It is situated on the old course of the A30 road (now re-routed south of the settlement as a dual carriageway bypass) between the villages of Fraddon and Penhale.The Blue Anchor Inn is alleged to have been the first stop the King's Messenger made on his journey to announce the victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in October 1805.

Fraddon is a village in mid-Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, in the parish of St Enoder (where the 2011 census population was included). It is roughly midway between Newquay and St Austell and is south of the linked villages of St Columb Road and Indian Queens.Fraddon was formerly on the A30 road but a dual carriageway bypass now carries traffic south of the village. Its cookhouse & pub, The Penhale Round, beside the A30, is said to be built on the site of a prehistoric settlement (or is at least named after it) that has had evidence of occupation excavated dating back to the Middle Bronze Age (circa 1300-900 BC).

Indian Queens (Cornish: Myghternes Eyndek) is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village, which is on the A30 trunk road, is in the civil parish of St Enoder. It is situated west of Goss Moor and north of Fraddon approximately 10 mi (16 km) west-southwest of Bodmin. Black Cross is a nearby hamlet. The village name is derived from an eponymously named coaching inn. The village is the site of a Victorian era preaching pit constructed out of a disused quarry: the pit comprises large stepped rings and a preaching area the size and shape of half a bandstand.

St Columb Road (Cornish: Fordh Sen Kolomm) is a small village near Fraddon and Indian Queens in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It lies half a mile (750m) from the A30 road. St Columb Road railway station is on the branch line from Par to Newquay. When it opened in 1876 the station was called Halloon. It was renamed soon afterwards to reflect the existence of St Columb Major further north, and the new name was adopted for the local settlement which followed. In 2007 following the world record pub quiz, the title of the brightest pub in Cornwall was awarded to the Queen and Railway at St Columb Road. However, the pub had the fewest and smallest teams but the highest average score per person.

Trevarren is a hamlet, north of Indian Queens in Cornwall, United Kingdom.

Retew was a village near St Austell in Cornwall, England, that was mostly demolished in the early 1960s when the nearby Wheal Remfrey china clay quarry and waste heaps were expanded.The village was small, containing 24 houses and a factory, and stood on land owned by the quarry owners, English China Clays. The fate of the village had been expected and the residents were rehoused by the company. There was a chapel, but the village was served by visiting mobile retailers, including a butcher, a baker and a fish and chip van. The only part of the village remaining is Retew Hill on the St Dennis side, and a short stub of a road on the Fraddon side, where there is still a sign pointing to the village

St Enoder (Cornish: Eglosenoder) is a civil parish and hamlet in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The hamlet is situated five miles (8 km) southeast of Newquay. There is an electoral ward bearing this name which includes St Columb Road. The population at the 2011 census (including Blue Anchor) was 4,563.The nearest village is Summercourt half-a-mile (0.8 km) to the south and other settlements include Fraddon, Penhale, Indian Queens and Trevarren.
