Clover Hill is an unincorporated community and former census-designated place (CDP) in Frederick County, Maryland, United States. The population was 3,260 at the 2000 census. The area was not listed as a CDP for the 2010 census, and no population total was published.

The Nallin Farm Springhouse and Bank Barn are closely associated with the Nallin Farm House on the grounds of Fort Detrick, Maryland, US. The barn is a good example of a fieldstone-built bank barn with a byre on the lower level and an earth ramp on the opposite side providing access to a haymow.The simple stone springhouse is the source of 3+1⁄2-acre Nallin Pond. The barn and springhouse were built c. 1800. The Nallin Farm Springhouse and Bank Barn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.The barn has a hay hood, as can be seen in the 14th of 17 photos included in the nomination.

The Nallin Farm House and the related Nallin Farm Springhouse and Bank Barn are located on Fort Detrick at Frederick, Maryland. The Federal style brick farmhouse was built in stages between the 1780s and the 1830s and formerly served as the residence of the Fort Detrick commanding officer. It is known on post as "Building 1652".The Nallin Farm was incorporated into Fort Detrick upon the post's expansion in 1955. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 23, 1974.

Tuscarora Creek is a 49.2-mile-long (79.2 km) tributary of the Juniata River in central Pennsylvania in the United States. It rises in eastern Huntingdon County, east of the borough of Shade Gap, and flows northeast between Tuscarora Mountain and Shade Mountain, reaching the Juniata River at Port Royal in Juniata County. It is traversed by the Academia Pomeroy Covered Bridge, which at 278 feet (85 m) portal to portal is the longest remaining covered bridge in Pennsylvania. The bridge spans Tuscarora Creek between Spruce Hill and Beale townships. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been owned by the Juniata County Historical Society since 1962.

The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID; ) is the U.S Army's main institution and facility for defensive research into countermeasures against biological warfare. It is located on Fort Detrick, Maryland, near Washington, D.C., and is a subordinate lab of the United States Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC), headquartered on the same installation. USAMRIID is the only U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) laboratory equipped to study highly hazardous viruses at Biosafety Level 4 within positive pressure personnel suits. USAMRIID employs both military and civilian scientists as well as highly specialized support personnel, totaling around 800 people. In the 1950s and 1960s, USAMRIID and its predecessor unit pioneered unique, state-of-the-art biocontainment facilities which it continues to maintain and upgrade. Investigators at its facilities frequently collaborate with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and major biomedical and academic centers worldwide. USAMRIID was the first bio-facility of its type to research the Ames strain of anthrax, determined through genetic analysis to be the bacterium used in the 2001 anthrax attacks.

Fort Detrick () is a United States Army Futures Command installation located in Frederick, Maryland. Fort Detrick was the center of the U.S. biological weapons program from 1943 to 1969. Since the discontinuation of that program, it has hosted most elements of the United States biological defense program.As of the early 2010s, Fort Detrick's 1,200-acre (490 ha) campus supports a multi-governmental community that conducts biomedical research and development, medical materiel management, global medical communications and the study of foreign plant pathogens. The lab is known to research pathogens such as Ebola and smallpox.It is home to the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC), with its bio-defense agency, the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). It also hosts the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research and is home to the National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research (NICBR), National Interagency Biodefense Campus (NIBC) and the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI). In August 2019, its deadly germ research operations were shut down following serious safety violations, in particular relating to the disposal of dangerous materials.Fort Detrick is the largest employer in Frederick County, Maryland.

The National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC) is a government biodefense research laboratory created by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and located at the sprawling biodefense campus at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD, USA. The NBACC (pronounced EN-back) is the principal U.S. biodefense research institution engaged in laboratory-based threat assessment and bioforensics. NBACC is an important part of the National Interagency Biodefense Campus (NIBC) also located at Fort Detrick for the US Army, National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Agriculture.

The U.S. Army Biological Warfare Laboratories (USBWL) was a suite of research laboratories and pilot plant centers operating at Camp (later Fort) Detrick, Maryland, United States, beginning in 1943 under the control of the U.S. Army Chemical Corps Research and Development Command. The USBWL undertook research and development into biocontainment, decontamination, gaseous sterilization, and agent production and purification for the U.S. offensive biological warfare program. The laboratories and their projects were discontinued in 1969.

The One-Million-Liter Test Sphere—also known as the Test Sphere, the Horton Test Sphere, the Cloud Study Chamber, Building 527, and the "Eight Ball" (or "8-ball")—is a decommissioned biological warfare (BW) chamber and testing facility located on Fort Detrick, Maryland, US. It was constructed and utilized by the U.S. Army Biological Warfare Laboratories as part of its BW research program from 1951 to 1969. It is the largest aerobiology chamber ever constructed and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Harmony Grove is a ghost town located close to U.S. Route 15, north of Frederick (city) in Frederick County, Maryland. Harmony Grove is considered part of the Piedmont region of Maryland.

Building 470 — also called the Pilot Plant, or sometimes “the Tower”, or “Anthrax Tower” — was a seven-story steel and brick building at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland, United States, used in the small-scale production of biological warfare (BW) agents. The building, a Cold War era structure, was transferred from the Department of Defense to the National Cancer Institute-Frederick (a unit of the National Institutes of Health) in 1988, to which it belonged until 2003 when it was demolished.
