Broxton railway station

Broxton is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village is 11 miles south of Chester, and only 10 miles east of Wrexham in Wales. The civil parish also contains the small settlements of Barnhill, Bolesworth, Brown Knowl, Fuller's Moor and Meadow Bank. According to the 2001 Census it had a total population of 390, increasing to 461 at the 2011 census.

Broxton Old Hall (or Broxton Higher Hall) is in Old Coach Road 0.5 miles (1 km) west of the village of Brown Knowl, in the civil parish of Broxton, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

The Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway was a line in Cheshire built by the London and North Western Railway in the 19th century. The branch, which was 14.5 mi (23.3 km) long, connected the North Wales Coast Line from Chester with the Welsh Marches line and Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway at Whitchurch. Although only a branch line, the route was built to main line standards with double track along its entire length. It was used on occasion to stable the British Royal Train in sidings on the eve of official visits by members of the Royal Family.

Chowley is a hamlet and civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is approximately 9.5 miles (15.3 km) south east of Chester and about 1.3 miles (2.1 km) south west of Tattenhall. In the 2001 census Chowley had a population of 23. The census statistics have been combined with the neighbouring civil parishes of Handley and Golborne David, and the figure was given as 227. In the 2011 census these parishes were again combined, with the population recorded as 253.

Clutton is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It lies nine miles from Wrexham and 11 miles from Chester. It had a population of 371 according to the 2011 census.It has a Church of England primary school.

Aldersey is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It contains the villages of Aldersey Green grid reference SJ461567 and Aldersey Park SJ459561, and is about 9 miles (14 km) south-east of Chester. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 72, increasing to 132 at the 2011 census.

Brown Knowl Methodist Church is in Sherrington's Lane in the settlement of Brown Knowl in the civil parish of Broxton, Cheshire, England. The church, together with the former Sunday school, is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Duckington is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is situated some 10½ miles (17 km) south-east of Chester, 10 miles (16 km) east of Wrexham and 4⅓ miles (7 km) east of the Welsh border.

Larkton is a former civil parish, now in the parish of No Man's Heath and District, in the Cheshire West and Chester district and ceremonial county of Cheshire in England. In 2001 it had a population of 28. The name Larkton is likely derived from Old English läwerce, "lark" and tun, "farm", "settlement". Larkton was anciently a township of the old parish of Malpas, and was also a manor owned by the Cheshire family of Cholmondeley. Larkton Hill, part of the larger Bickerton Hill, was formerly the site of small-scale sandstone quarrying. It was once an area of commonland covering about 44 acres until an Inclosure Act of the mid 19th century. The parish contained one structure designated by English Heritage as a listed building. This is Larkton House, a stone farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, which is listed at Grade II. Larkton was formerly a township in the parish of Malpas, in 1866 Larkton became a separate civil parish. On 1 April 2015 the civil parish was united with Bickley and parts of other parishes, under the terms of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, to form No Man's Heath and District.

Carden is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village of Carden consists of Higher Carden and Lower Carden. The parish includes Carden Hall (or Carden Old Hall) and Lower Carden Hall Because the civil parish is small, it shares a parish council with a number of other small civil parishes, which, in the case of Carden are Aldersey, Barton, Clutton, Coddington, and Stretton under the name of Coddington and District Parish Council. Maiden Castle is an Iron Age hill fort, one of many fortified hill-top settlements constructed across Britain during the Iron Age, but one of only seven in the county of Cheshire in northern England. The hill fort was probably occupied from its construction in 600 BC until the Roman conquest of Britain in the 1st century AD. At this time the Cornovii tribe are recorded to have occupied parts of the surrounding area but, because they left no distinctive pottery or metalworking, their occupation has not been verified. Since then it has been quarried and used for military exercises. It is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and is owned by the National Trust. The hill fort is open to visitors, but unrestricted access to the site has resulted in it being classified as "at high risk" from erosion.

All Saints Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Harthill, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. As of 2010 the church is being converted into a community facility for the village and locality.
